It's weird because Gwen was kinda mid in the original comics, but everything since then with her has been far more interesting and enjoyable. Ultimate Gwen Stacy was a nice change of pace being more rebellious. Spider-Man Blue made her far more likeable and we see how Peter really felt about her. The Amazing Spider-Man movies portray her as being very sweet and less of a nagging mean girls cast member. Then Spider-Gwen came into the world and changed things up again, making her similar to her Ultimate comics self, but more modern. Idk I like her a lot.

I think she was at her worst in Spiderman 3. She made it all about herself and even resented Peter for being more popular than her. Peter barely made a move on her for close to a year, so Peter isn't that much entitled or call dibs on her. What Harry should have done tho is inform Peter that he has a thing for MJ as a good friend should do. Plus lets not judge their friendship too much, we have at one point fucked over our best friend once or twice in our lifetime. Which is why the topic of forgiveness is raised in Spiderman 3. If you have never had a disagreement or argument with your friend before. It means you arent real friends, you are probably "yes-men" to each other. If you can forgive your friend after a heated disagreement or argument it makes your friendship stronger.

Yeah you’re 100% correct. I never liked MJ in the movies, or comics. There is always some unnecessary drama with her. Another example is the insomniac games. MJ broke up with Peter because she got tired of his “overprotective attitude”. OK can you blame him? He experienced a terrible loss and she does get pretty reckless in a lot of situations. What’s even worse is that she kind of flirts with him even after they broke up. For crying out loud, MJ make up your mind! They should’ve been a chill couple in the first game and then get married in Spiderman 2. No ridiculous drama.

I remember growing up and watching these movies. I always told everyone I hated MJ from the movies and no one understood why I hated her, even when I explained why. I felt she was always a toxic person and that Peter deserved better.

I guess that's because no one tries to look at the story from MJ's perspective or no one really sits down and looks just at the MJ portions of the trilogy. If they did that, they'd know how bad she is. But since literally every single character in the series treats her like she's some rare gem piece, a treasure (which i have no idea why- she's just a failed actress with literally no achievements and looks that are average at best), that's all the audience remembers too. And it's not just MJ. Almost everyone in Peter's life is awful to him if you just isolate their scenes and focus on just them and what they're saying to Peter in that scenario and context. Even Aunt May... when Peter says something like he feels responsible for Ben's death because he didn't stop the robber with the gun and literally cries to her, she just gets up and leaves like, "Why yes it IS your fault you little sh*t! Why didn't you step in front of the gun and get killed instead?" like WTF? From May's perspectives, Peter's just a kid. She didn't know that he's Spiderman so why is she expecting that he should have done what Uncle Ben tried to do? Also, even if it was his fault that the robber got away, how is it his fault that Ben died? That's just a crazy coincidence that a robber ran past Peter and killed Ben. How is she readily accepting the notion that Peter is the one responsible for Ben's death just based on that? Also even if she does believe it, really? You're just gonna get up and leave, letting your nephew feel like sh*t? No "It's okay Peter, you couldn't have known he's heading to kill Uncle Ben", or "Don't be silly, how could you be responsible for what that man did?" or nothing like that... Harry literally says "Yeah I know that you, my best friend, like her but I can only wait so much. You know I had to tap that a** at some point." Uncle Ben tried to guilt Peter into admitting that he was wrong for standing up against a bully... Holy sh*t, the more I think about this trilogy the less I feel like going back and watching it again.

Technically she's not the real Mary Jane. She is Larry Jane. The Mary Jane Watson that I Know would never do such thing to Peter. In fact she even become his wife during the early times when comic books were readable. It's just that the makers of the movie didn't give faithful adaptation of the character . The current comic book writers do not utilize Mary Jane Watson like it's predecessors on early comics.

It gave me vibes of Tobey's Spiderman living in a worn down apartment and having basically nothing again. Of the 3 Spidermen, Tom's definitely had it the worst of the 3.
