Don't even try, I've lived with the similar zest all my life, it's an interesting rollercoaster... Agree wholeheartedly, vintage formal style watches particularly gold filled Omega pieces are a great way to enter the vintage market. That stated, the stainless steel cased sport watches - dive, chronograph and pilot will continue to increase at a higher rate.

So there is no Theo and there is no Harris? LOL! You know, 20 years down the line, when it becomes a big brand and Christian is being interviewed by Forbes or CNBC or something, he's going to get the question, "Why Theo & Harris?" and he's going to regret it! :P

Christian - any chance you can do an updated version of this video whenever you get time? I have noticed a significant rise in Omega vintage prices between Nov 2016 to Jan 2017 (crazy short time period!), and I'd be interested to hear your revised market analysis (sure a lot others would be). Quarterly market analysis could be a good regular video idea for you! Cheers!

Well to ROLEX, Swatch Group et al, any watch they've made from before the 1980's, before the sapphire, and 3135 era is a 3-eyed child that they've abandoned forever to wonder friendless and alone in the forest.

The part about who "Theo and Harris" are made me laugh. I always wondered the same thing. On your early videos, I thought you were Theo. When I found out your name, I thought T&H were your bosses. lol. If anything every goes wrong, just blame it on T&H and just say it was all their doing. ;)

I have started restoring antique and vintage Bulovas, hope to use the money as seed money for some Hamilton's. The Hamilton's bring in more respect and money. When you lift up the skirt Bulova and Hamilton's are a lot alike. Sooooooo why the Hamilton's? And I have almost every year of the Accutron. That' what got my interest up, then went further back into history and just love the art deco Now I'm a watch fixin fool. I'm self taught so I just see what the problem is and get a new part without making the part. So I cant call myself a Watchmaker. So what am I, a watch Repairman LOL!!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it's helpful. What size do you think is too small for watches? Recently I acquired a 28mm vintage Junghans (probably from 1940s). I love it but sometimes I think it's too small. Any opinion?
@TheoandHarris8 жыл бұрын
Hard to say! Really depends on your wrist and style - I'd say 30 is the smallest! But I can always be proven wrong!

Thanks for the response after I posted the comment I saw the asktnh #77 about the different datejust refs ... I totally respect your opinion about the yellow gold version I just don't think it fits my style so I'd rather go for the whitegold version not the 18038 but the 18039... or do you recommend a different ref for the whitegold version (I'm looking for one with silver dial and simple hour markers (no diamonds, roman or Arabic numerals)). And where do you think I could find one in good condition? Thanks in advance Lennart

Given the new Watch buying community and enthusiasts are millenials and the under 35 crowd, you'd think Rolex, Patek, Omega etc would devote more energy to marketing toward the non 50 + crowd
@mjaywalking97318 жыл бұрын
you talked about all the 5 digit rolex reference datejusts except for the 16233/16234. I think thats the last great datejust rolex made, all vintage but with sapphire and the newer (and arguably better) 3135 movement. but great video as always bro, Love the long videos (keep doing more!!).

With to days standards, I cannot wear a watch less than 38mm (7.5" wrist) without feeling like it was my grand fathers watch. Chicks like 'em big.
@addisontalks8 жыл бұрын
I thought for sure that gold Lange would be up there in the list of special watches sold! As far as what's wrong with the industry, I think too much emphasis is being put on the branding and less on what people are supposed to spend thousands of dollars on. I see crap online about some new thing that's being done with a watch that has very little impact beyond being from a specific brand, it's really hard to care. It comes across as a lot of noise.

That Fludo you have in the shop is a redial -- and a bad one at that. Too bad, it's really pretty
@TheoandHarris8 жыл бұрын
Hey man! Certainly not a redial - in the high def photos, the numerals seem sloppy but since the luminescent paint matches the hands, I believe it was manufacture error. I never hold off-brands to the same detailing standards as brands like Rolex, Heuer, Gallet, Universal so it does get tricky. But, if you'd like, please shoot me an email and we can further geek out! Hahha.
