Seems sketch. OK for tarps or tents. But if you're rigging something it's sketch no? I like that it slips and falls apart easily.

That would makes sense now with the name mooring. You'd have multiple of these and the odds that they all fall off and the boat drifts away are slim. Versus using this to tie off a load in construction, etc.

Yo asesoré en LMfg hace varios años a una empresa de SLP que fabricaban redes pesca. Tenían un catálogo con decenas y decenas de diferentes nudos. Para mi es fantástico verlos. Suscrito y like.

That could actually prove to be dangerous. Your colud dislocate your wrist if your slipped off the cliff or if you fell off a boat and someone through you a line. Marniers are taught never to stick your hands though loops and bends. A two hands slap technique is used to tie a one second bowline. For an emergency fall situation to save your own life a Midshipman's Hitch (also known as a Tautline hitch) should be used. A Midshipma's can be tied under load and is as easy to untie as a Bowline. To save someone elses life as in a descent, a Bowline could be used but a better safer choice is an Eskimo Bowline. A Bowline could come loose if not under contaant load or super taught. Eskimo Bowline does not come loose. If however you are not confident in an Eskimo Bowline you can tue a couple half hitches for safety.

In UK :- Its also called a" highwayman's hitch" (or variant of). In the days of horse-riding bandits " hitched their critter (horse) to a post using this knot so they could make a quick on- handed release ( other hand holding a blunderbus, presumably ).

kinda unsafe cuz the knot itself tightens/closes the loop around an object
