For 3, it may be quicker to use L hopital rule which gives just 2x after derivative , Lim = 2*8 = 16

No. As long as the left and right limit are the same then the limit exists. The fact that the function value at exactly 2 is different doesn’t matter because we do not care what happens at exactly the x value we are approaching when we calculate a limit.

Ah I see what you mean...the limit exists but the function is not continuous since LHL, RHL don't equal to functional value....
