I haven’t tried the box clasp. Only lobster clasp. I thought the box clasp was better because it looks more premium. I hadn’t even realized that the box clasp wouldn’t allow a pendant. I think I’d enjoy both tho.

Personally I think the box lock looks cooler but I’d agree with Brayden when it comes to comfort. If I had to pick one I’d choose the box lock because it looks sweet. I actually have a 4mm Franco bracelet with a lobster clasp and it’s very comfy, I’ve worn it everyday for about a year now! Thank you so much Brayden and Raquel!! Happy holidays to you all!
@sambacherrАй бұрын
I think with Cubans specifically the box locks work well but if you are going smaller, you will end up wanting the lobster clasp due to how much a box lock is going stick out. Also, with smaller chains, the box lock is going to have enough weight to pull the chain downwards causing a fold in a Cuban. This can be bothersome because one of the most appealing aspects of the box lock is that it provides a cleaner more contiguous look but more often than not with a smaller Cuban, you will end up with the bottom side of the lock being the visible side due to the chain not being heavy enough to counteract the weight of the lock. I think around 5mm is the perfect starting point for box locks. Below 5mm and lobster clasp will likely be the better option for overall comfort and functionality. If I were to get either of these chains I would love the 4.5mm 22" lobster clasp. Sam S. Denver, CO

I’m a really big fan of the box lock because I feel it looks a bit classier. Also I am very active so I feel more secure with the box lock. I have a 4.5 mm Miami Cuban bracelet with the lobster clasp I got from you guys. I’d love to be able to match it with the Cuban chain. Thank you for all that you guys do. Not many jewelers give back to the community like you and you have been doing it for years.

Once you hit 5mm should have a box clasp. I also have a 7.5mm Monaco cuban chain in 14k for daily wearing and that fancy style click clasp is actually my favorite if im being honest. Double clicks and not annoying on the neck

Lobster clasp def more comfortable and more preferred however box lock definitely more elegant but limits the size of pendants you can add to your chain. My recommendation is just to move the box lock to the side so you’re not feeling it against your neck while you’re wearing it will be more comfortable! That 26 inch Cuban with the box lock would be fire. Thanks again for all the giveaways guys! Happy holidays! Brandon I Hickory, NC

The figure 8 on the box locks can sometimes get snagged and come undone but I still prefer it over a lobster clasp. Like most people are saying on thinner chains a lobster clasp just looks right and a box-lock/sleek locks on bigger cubans. K Nguyen Ontario, Canada

Lobster just because ease of use. I was just looking for a gold necklace on your site and was going to save up for one. I have this gold pendant that was in my family passed down to me but definitely need a chain for it. Been watching a lot of your stacking videos lately too. Very helpful!

I believe that lobster clasps are best suited for smaller, thin chains, whereas box locks are better for thicker, larger chains, like 5mm or wider. Another popular option for comfort and for people with longer hair are sleek box locks. The beauty part is there are options for everyone available, hopefully. As for me, I'd go with lobster clasp if it were a 3mm curb/cuban chain. As for 4mm, it's a tossup between box lock or lobster clasp because both options would work for this chain width. That's my take! Shawn S. Zuni, New Mexico
@RandyCandelario-gq6ktАй бұрын
I think depending on the link and size of chain . 8mm curb link goes with a lobster. 8mm Miami Cuban box lock.

@ap9849Ай бұрын
I like the box lock because it keeps the continuous touch of the chain for at least cuban. Unlike the lobster clap, which breaks the look depending on the size of the chain, the break will stand out. However, the box lock only works with larger size chains because on my 5mm, it seems to stick out too much and caused it to flip. So I guess what I am trying to say is that it depends on the chain and the size and that if they can get the lobster/box to match the chain flow, then it would not matter but I know that these type of claps are mass produce to fit any chains and for that reason you will need to put it on and see many examples to find the one that works for you.
@alfredohuidobro8936Ай бұрын
Personally I think of safety so my chain doesn't fall. I seen instances where the lobster clasp gets the gap and falls out. Plus my first gold chain was a lobster clasp. But i do thing on rounded chains the lobster clasp would be best instead of a flat chain. If I could pick one it would be the 22in so I can give the lobster clasp a try. Love the videos and keep up the good work Alfredo H Brighton, Colorado

I’ve only worn a lobster clasp and never worn a box lock chain before, something about the box lock looks so baller to me though. I love the look and the security of the lock seems awesome! Although pendants would be challenging, I think if I wanted to put a pendant i would prefer to get a rounder chain like a Franco and I would do a lobster. But a stand alone Miami Cuban I would get a box lock for sure💯. I’m glad to see you and Raquel still pushing forward after the negativity. Thanks for what you guys do! Anton I Ontario Canada

Honestly I like the way you’ve been doing it on your website. Lobster clasp on anything 5mm or below for both comfort and pendant compatibility. Anything 6mm and up I would prefer the box lock because it’s a bit more secure with the heavier weight, and I think it just fits the look better at that size So in this particular size I would much prefer the lobster clasp. But they all just look gorgeous to me, a Cuban has been a goal chain for me for a long time ever since seeing my grandfather (RIP💔) wear one all through my childhood. So, as you guys said, it’s definitely personal preference but I believe it depends on if you want to rock the chain as is or with pendant. Aesthetics wise definitely a box lock guy, but I’ve heard the box locks can lose their security over time. box lock is cooler, but lobster clasp is best for everyday use. Its a mental thing for me. I know both can eventually give out but for the box lock, I rarely use it because it feels like the 8 shaped tension will eventually give out. I've never had a lock box before, I've only had lobster clasp. However, I would prefer a lock box over a lobster clasp for a gold piece due to its greater security and durability. My wife gave me a flat curb bracelet a few years ago and I ended up losing it because the lobster clasp got loose and I didn't realize it. I believe that the lock box offers superior protection, preventing accidental opening, which is crucial for anyone who values a good piece of jewelry and wears it daily. Furthermore, I think that its design is more elegant and luxurious, that is a flex that goes hard when you like jewelry. Although the lobster clasp is practical, comfortable and easy to use, its mechanism can wear out over time (which is why it is important to check your jewelry from time to time), while the lock box is more robust and stable, making it the most reliable option. However, this is all a matter of taste and preferences since with proper care a nice gold piece should not give you serious durability problems. Jay P. Georgia.
