And you really tell it like it is. If we wind up in Mostar, we'll try your favorite restaurant. It's great too that you mention the prices - I've paid more for less in other places. It's always a treat when you get a great meal and are surprised at the end what value you got out of it. Thanks much for sharing.

Since you like Balkan food, you can have it in GTA. There is a nice small restaurant on McAdam Rd, behind Highland Farms supermarket in Mississauga. It's name is McAdam Place. Granted, i'm biased, cause i'm from Balkans, but food is excellent, big portions, and low prices. For example, mixed grill plater (meshano meso) for 2 is arond 25 CAD. And no, this is not an ad, just that me and my co-workers love going there ....
@samuelandaudrey7 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for sharing that! We'll try to visit someday :) That's a really reasonable price especially in CAD.

If you are looking for exotic and weird dishes (warms, frogs, etc) you may want to visit the amazonic region. If you're looking for the BEST Ecuadorian food (seafood included) you should visit the province of Manabí in the coast (sorry for my totally biased suggestion but ask any ecuadorian and they will say the same). Some of the dishes that I highly recommend are The "Tonga", the "Murico al vapor", the "Seco de gallina criolla en horno de leña"(the more rustic the place looks the more delicious it gets!). Some of the most famous appetizers are the "corviche"(Ask for fried or baked. I personally prefer fried due to its crispness), "Empanadas de verde", "bollo de pescado" and "panes de yuca/almidon". If you like soups, I highly recommend the "viche de mariscos", the ecuadorian "ceviche" and the "encebollado"(this one is most known for killing hangovers! And people mostly enjoy it as a breakfast dish). Your videos are so cool, my favourite one is the one you filmed in Toronto. Every time I watch it, it brings me memories of the time I studied there :) Keep going with your videos, you guys rock!:)
@samuelandaudrey7 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! Just looked at some images and the Seco de gallina criolla en horno de leña looks so so good! I'm going to save this information for when we visit Ecuador someday :)

biliyorum, but here in Bosnia we make kaymak so it is a bit hard in texture when placed on a hot (sicak) yaprak or sogan dolma it melts slowly and just gives more flavor try it kardes

@Aboleo806 жыл бұрын
Nada Batori We call stuffed vine leaves "japrak". In Turkey it would be called yaprak dolma since Turks call any stuffed veggie "dolma" but in Hercegovina we use dolma just for stuffed pepers, Sarma for cabage or collard greens stuffed leaves.

Michio Kushi , father of Macrobiotics says we need to chew our food 40x before swallowing. Chewing is an important part of the digestion process. At least chew it enough to turn it to puree before swallowing. Sam's dish reminds me of the late 1960s and early 70s when Julia Child introduced Americans to French cooking. That was when wine/butter/cream sauces were all the rage in gourmet cooking. Maybe it is the camera but it looks like you guys are taking GIGANTIC sized bites. (It isn't a race.) If you take smaller bites and savor the flavor, you won't have to chew as much and you can talk more easily and explain what you are eating instead of forcing it down your throats before you should ..
@samuelandaudrey7 жыл бұрын
That's a good tip! We should take smaller bites and chew slower ;)
