That's really great, guys! Don't think we'll make Mostar on this spring's trip but maybe 2020. I really love the way you guys dive into the local culture in a respectful way; just exactly our style too. Thanks for mentioning, too, the month and season. I'm using your videos to help plan a vacation to Adriatic Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia, so it helps when you mention what season you're in, so I can pack accordingly. I don't comment on all your videos but have loved every one of them. Kindest regards!

Hi Sam and Audrey, as much as I love your videos and I’ve been watching them constantly, I just want to know if you could do us a favor, by getting more detailed when you describe the food? Like every time you took a bite, I was always expecting to know what is scent like, and how is the flavor, is it salty or spicy or meaty etc, but ended up quite disappointing as you skipped it.... that would be great if you could do that in your upcoming videos, we’d really appreciate that. That said, I enjoy your work and your efforts! So much love ❤️

Audrey, your pronunciation of all dishes is great. I do not know why people laughed to you. Ćufte and kofte are different dishes. As I know, Ćufte should be small meat balls, but kofte - it is turkish and arabian kind of bosnian Ćevapi. Kofte and Ćevapi is very similar dish. It is kind of sausages, just prepared a bit differently. Let me expose you a secret. Restaurant "Tima-Irma" is the best one here. 2nd place takes "Šadrvan", then "Rota", etc. You like sweets but you do not eat sugger with tea (čaj)? Hm ... Interesting. :) Our cuisine is amazing. Smokvara is my favourite traditional cake. It is prepared mostly by figs. In one of previous videos I realized they did not learn you in restaurant Šadrvan about whole process of serving Bosinan coffe. I regart because you did not come in Mostar to try Bosnian-Italian Ice cream (the best one is in "Dolce and Co")
@samuelandaudrey6 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! We had some amazing meals on that trip.

Stuffed peppers, meat balls(fried battered?) with the mashed potato and rustic bread would have finished me off before desert. I liked the bustle and music in the background lending some ambiance. I know the background noise and activity sometimes is a little too much for you to shoot in, but sometimes when it looks like you have the place to yourselves I wonder if you are eating on off hours or the place might not be popular. Noisy locals are always a plus for me. You can always do voice overs if it gets out of hand. LOL.

Slavs that moved to Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia from 6th to 10th century came mostly from today's western Ukraine and Eastern Poland and mixed with local population. at least 1/3 of Bosnians show at least some ancestry from Ukraine.
@mahirzuko2 жыл бұрын
@@Aboleo80 40% illyrian ancestry, 15% slav 20% teuton 15%celtic is basically the genetic mashup of Bosnia. The cabbage stuffed with meat and rice, peppers stuffed with meat and rice that all came from Ottomans so I would not say It is Ukraine related but since the Tatars were also in Crimea and the turks could be a connection there.

@hahahoho516 жыл бұрын
dydodo mashine that you destroyed and took from us. Bosnia is Bosnia, not croatia. Same thing with Neum
@eddo38516 жыл бұрын
Really? The last census from 2013 shows that there are 48,4% Croats in the city of Mostar, and 44,2% Bosniaks. Mostar is a Bosniak-Turkish city, the Turks established the city! The city is primarily known for the Old Town that is controlled by the Bosniaks, not about the concrete bunkers in the western part of city controlled by Croats. As far as the City of Mostar is concerned, Bosniaks control all of the eastern part and part of the western, from the entrance in the south west (neighbourhood Mahala), along the Bulevar (and the old town witin that) all the way to the Carinski most. Bosniaks also control the sjeverni logor, the only place where the city can be broadend, as well as the huge parts south of the city. Croats are all packed in the western part of the town, and cannot expand anywhere from there. Bosniaks also control 70% of the territory of the Municipality of Mostar. After the war Croats tried to alter the reality of Mostar by huge investments from Croatia, relocation of Croats from other parts of Bosnia and Herzegowina and by students from Croatia, but they failed. Mostar remains a typical Bosniak town. :) www.statistika.ba/?show=12&id=11410
