Damn dude, that was fantastic. Thank you for putting all that time and effort into this test and distilling it in a concise way with your results

I always look forward to your evaluations. This eval based on head to head comparison confirms I made the right decision, putting a deposit on a factory R at bad apples fly-in. Awesome !!

I really love your no-nonsense evaluations/explanations backed up with actual numbers. You produce the best informational paramotor videos-bar none. Well done!! So, does this mean that you are going to engineer a hoop to accommodate the 140 prop, or are you going to stick with the Enduro?

Will the size of your wing skew the results of this test. I fly a 26 meter spyder 3 and I weigh 235 lbs?
@SCOUTaviation3 жыл бұрын
There is obviously more thrust. No doubt about that. Yes, different gliders handle power differently. For example my advanced paragliding wing Gin Carrera cannot take much thrust. The glider steps back with a high angle of attack and despite being an advanced and very efficient glider it does not climb much. Adding more power actually makes it worse. But the Spyder is OK, it is made for motor and you would climb nicely. Sure you would feel the difference.

hi, if I don't ask I won't learn. on the factory ( r) is the carb exactly the same as the regular Moster Plus? 37c... is the factory r carb. modified? Carburetor Walbro for Moster185 Plus/Factory. as seen in a pap ad.

As an adventure pilot, why is your next machine going to be the Scout One instead of the NXT? I would have thought you would have put the Factory R on an NXT frame.

What parts are different? Prop, reduction, carb?
@parabollox-darrel3 жыл бұрын
Loving my R on the NXT. I moved from a different brand with MY19 Moster Plus, so did not feel confident with my side by side comparison as there were many more differences than the engine alone. However my butt dyno measured +15% power. I thought it may have been placebo. Seems reasonably aligned with your measurements ✌️

Good to see true figures and not just “it’s more powerful”. It would be interesting to see how the moster with the 2.87 reduction and 140 prop performs against the factory R with 140 👍

So the next question will be, will you make a carbon scout that will fit a 140cm prop?
@SCOUTaviation3 жыл бұрын
We have 3 ongoing propeller research and development projects. Before we make any conclusions on the carbon cage we need to finish the three propellers... Stay tuned. Test results were extremely promising. One would think there is nothing to invent about propellers and yet there is...

I think Scout should add some Airone trike videos- produced and shot by Scout- in the same smart way this one about the V Factory was made. There are hundreds of potential paramotor pilots like myself I'm sure, waiting for that perfect nano aircraft where no running sport flying is possible. I have beeen researchig this subject for over a year now and Scout always comes through as the winner in so many ways except there is little or no information about the Airone / Scout combo. Scout makes the best looking paramotors ...no competition there.

very good video! I like it :-) maybe you will make videos later with the engine data and variodata displayed directly in the video. logging data with the jeti profibox is very easy and can be integrated with dashware. best regards

Comparing 130 was it with same prop or different for 2.87? Just bringing down the rpm of the prop is not going to give more power. And if it another prop and 2.87 then it's not really apples for apples.

Wonder how it would perform with 3 or 4 blade prop to keep inside carbon cage?
@angeredBee3 жыл бұрын
This was an interesting and entertaining test. I would 2nd @Daniel Jones comment however, and expand upon it a bit. (I get skeptical whenever someone pulls out a clipboard. 😅) Was this an “engine power comparison” test or an “impact of propeller diameter” test? If testing the engines, the props used should be the same. If testing the prop diameter difference, the engines should be the same. Unfortunate for this test we are working with at least two factors as a basis. I would think that fuel consumption would differ with different sized props. Every cycling of the engine means another gulp of fuel so with the smaller prop, spinning faster (to produce the same thrust to maintain the same altitude) the engine would consume more fuel. Just a hunch on my part. Difference in prop diameter could also impact climb rate(?), which (climb rate) was used as a metric in this test to measure relative engine thrust/power. Can you describe how altitude was measured? If done with GPS, what is the margin of error for the device that was used for that measurement? Cell phones for example can vary wildly, impacting margin of error/accuracy, and so the test results. Even using the same mobile device, I understand that consumer gps devices currently produce accuracy of 4m vertically (overall potential deviation of 8m test to test?), and that’s with an 80% view of the sky. I could be wrong but even though there are no tree or building obstructions when at altitude, you probably only get a 60% view of the sky sitting in a PPG seat. Finally, I don’t understand the benefit of being airborne to measure thrust. It would seem that a ground-based staging would allow for much greater control of the variables.

Can you explain the diffrence between the reduction on these? There's 2.68 and 2.87. Why does vittorazi do this? A 130cm prop on a 2.68 reduction produced the same thrust as a 140cm prop on the 2.87 reduction. You could use a 140 on a 2.68 and get more thrust. I just dont understand the concept behind the 2.87 reduction.
@RwP2232 жыл бұрын
2.87 reduction means for the same engine RPM the prop spins slower than a 2.68. With a larger length prop, you can spin it slower which means it has more efficiency potential as compared to the same length prop spun faster via 2.68. Also consider the same length prop is different for a 2.68 and 2.87.
