Fantastic update video Andrew. Looking forward to a general maintenance video on Project Corrado where you change the engine oil, new spark plugs, air filter (upgrade maybe) and gearbox oil. If its never been changed, you'll surely feel the difference with new gearbox oil.

Lovely Jubbly video, these were in my VW dealership when I purchased my Polo all those years ago, at that time VW and AUDI shared the dealership floor space, those were the days.

Love to see the progress. Spoonfedtuning and gruvenparts have a lot of parts for the Corrado, including metal (aluminium) thermostat housing and the coolant pipe which are a must do imo. Spoonfedtuning also has a lot of the interior trim pieces.

Awesome news to see the VR6 back on the road. Definitely a labour of love older cars. The godly sound of one of the best sounding V6s ever. The car I wish I had bought back in the days I could afford too

I'm not sure if I'm missing something here. Why wouldnt you do all the 'maintenance' and mechanicals before finishing with the beautiful paint work. From experience, why risk an expensive mistake spannering on an 'old' car. I love the project, just a different approach I guess.

That was an area of discussion Flash and the reason is purely financial. If I spent thousands on engine work first and ran out of time/money/interest then I'd be stuck with a real shabby Corrado that wouldn't be worth much more than I paid for it. If I did the paint and needed to sell it as it is, much more of the cost of that would go onto the value of the car. As it is, it can still be enjoyed and driven and not be an embarassment like it was before. I certainly wouldn't be taking it to a show with the bodywork as it was before. Hope that makes sense. Also I trust Stealth Racing to not damage the car, with a normal garage that would be a different story :)

Thanks Andrew. One of the reasons I enjoy the channel is the 'mixing it up'. It's not just driving/car reviews but also videos like this, getting the gloves dirty doing 'thing's' to cars. 👍

Where did the previous owner get the sticker from for the VR6 badge? I need to do the same thing as you but the other way round, I have a silver badge I need red as I have an early 93" 😂

Great video, rear brake pipes were an advisory on my last MOT so will be tackling this on my VR6 soon. Leaning towards bending/flaring the lines myself out of kunifer pipe but the pre-made option is very tempting!

I do not recommend copper pipes because of soft material and any service shop for hydraulic forklifts or excavators have tools to fabricate a new one, just need to bring old one.

​@@Cripinub1 I recently got a 2.0 16v and I'm worried about this. Though all seems to be running well worth from an exhaust rattle somewhere and a burning oil smell. Going to mechanics next week for a full go over

I went from a Mk2 16v big bumper to a Corrado VR6. I thought i was a the boss... But it was by far the most unbalanced car i had ever driven hard... UNDERSTEEER! My mates in their Impreza's and Evo's took the piss, so i got an Evo... End of story..

Love it, still such a cool car. 14:56 the VR6 sounds great; I love the standard air box rather than the popular BMC one, I think BMC makes the car sounds too aggressive which doesn’t suit the character of the car. I used to have an Ice Grey Violet Corrado VR6, I had Jetex exhaust fitted too (and Golf VR6 288mm front brakes) Would love another one day.

Thanks! The Jetex does give it a bit more noise, not sure as you say whether more induction is that desirable TBH. 288mm brakes will be a nice upgrade in time 👍

Aside from flakey electric windows it always took any journey in its stride and didn’t miss a beat. Best day was 380 miles around Wales just before an MOT just in case it failed badly and needed scrapping 😂 Corrado is an ace car, will have another, but a Blackberry one that I regretted not buying a couple of years before I bought this one, if the owner changes his mind…

There definitely a link between the effort put into a car and the pleasure you get from driving. Today driving back from Bicester Heritage with sunroof open and shades on cruising along country lanes of Oxfordshire and Northants with VR6 burbling, I couldn't have been happier 😎

Pierburg VSR variable inlet manifold? Basically what the Mk4/Mk5 V6 got to give them more torque, very cool
