In this video I share with you which cars are going and which are staying in the Volkswizard fleet as a result of the arrival of the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4.
As of 31/10 the Corrado is still available, not advertised it properly yet but now weather has turned it definitely has to go.

My Corrado VR6 is back on the road after a 6 year break. The list of things that need fixing has grown but that noise….. man I’ve missed that noise! I went for a Magnex exhaust rather than the Jetex as I found the sound a little more refined, shame they don’t make them any more. My car’s carpets cultivated some impressive mushrooms in those years parked up but I’m so glad I didn’t sell it!

Build an inexpensive double-length carport on the side of the garage with a hard-standing. Also make sure there's at least a few feet overhang front, back, and side.This will keep the condensation off the cars at night, which is the biggest enemy, protect against the worst of the weather (sun, rain, snow, hail, etc) as well as bird droppings, and provide good airflow. The cars will still get dusty, but typically not as quickly. I guarantee you won't regret it! Leaving your GTS on the grass means it's exposed to condensation underneath as well. And Porsches already suffer more than most underneath. Not my intention to teach you how to suck eggs, so I apologise in advance if I have done so.

All good advice, thanks. Only problem is living in a conservation area you just can’t build stuff as permitted development rules don’t apply. I do try and keep the cars off the lawn in winter. Planning to seal the underside of CSS and particularly GT4 which hasn’t started to corrode one bit so have the chance to nip it in the bud fit that first time - usually exhaust bolts etc are rusty by the time I get them

The mk2 or the edition 30 would be going before the corrado vr6 for me, I’ve had my fair share of intereting cars and the only one I have left is the corrado, mine has a true 2.9 rebuilt engine, goes well, has lovely steering and the character.. I even have cloth seats in mine as you sit that bit lower. You will regret it

To be honest I do think you could benefit from some tuition on a skid pan maybe, learning to slide. Because I think with the grip the porsche has [and mid engined], when you get really unstuck, it'll be really easy to bin it without experience I'll bet.

Agreed, lots of GT4s seem to get crashed, nearly binned the Boxster with 2 weeks of buying, back end went at 53 mph, just about managed to catch it

Did consider that but the garage and utility room are single brick walls so long term plan is to flatten them & redevelop the that side, better garage is part of that 👌

Nah. Great time to sell. I sold mine for £750 a few years ago. I was very pleased with that, having bought it for £500 😂 Nice VR6s have made really strong money over the last few years. Nothing continues fixing at pace forever. Lovely car though!

Thank you for showing us all your cars Love them all VDub :) I agree £10,000 no less I sold my mk2 1989 Gti small bumper for £10,750 had it up for £13,500 because I didn’t want it to go but like you needed the space. Bought a breathable cover for my Boxster from connoisseur covers. Really very pleased with it. Had it 12 months and it’s kept it dry with no condensation

That Corrado is gorgeous, especially with the period Dovercourt font plates. Back then I sold Jaguar, Land Rovers and Saabs and I agree Green was very popular when new, BRG, Epsom Green & Scarabe Green respectively! Those Sony Head Units were very popular on Saabs.

Ahh yes I’ve had 3 Corrado’s they were a brilliantly done car. Isn’t this the 2nd time you’ve considered selling it? I’d sell a Porsche and make the garage bigger 😂

Maybe even the 3rd time, the last time the RS6 went instead. The plan was to build a garage on front lawn but council don't allow them at the front even when nobody can see them. Can extend the existing one but best to do as part of a bigger plan and can't imagine when I can afford that

Hi Andrew more superb videos as ever, I would love to own a porsche at some point but at the same time I adore old vw's namely mk2 gtis and of course rado's. I dont think I could ever be without a mk2 gti as they are just so special to me and make me happy. I hope you can re work your current situation and that you can keep your beautiful corrado, I do think you will miss it despite the gt4 being so so much better, its just that feeling they give you for me at least ❤👍👍👍best wishes to you

I’ve recently being toying with the “ridiculous” idea of selling my 2019 Up! GTI and potentially buying a mint Corrado VR6 for roughly £10k. My insurance runs out in May, so unfortunately I don’t see myself being able to attempt to buy your very own Corrado as it must’ve been sold by then. I do ask however, am I being ridiculous? Could I genuinely almost daily a car like this? It is a lifetime car for me, but I simply just want to know if I should go and buy a newer Polo GTI, Audi S1 etc.

I'm in the process of having my VR6 fully restored, a BIG shout out to JMR in Wothing for the truly amazing job, it has cost a lot but to me well worth it. I put over 120k miles on her over my time, driven her between UK, France & Croatia a lot. She is amazing on tight mountain roads, can't wait to get her back.

Fascinating video Andrew - you have a superb car collection. I’m a GTi man so will always default to that car but the Corrado is special. Sad it has to go but you can’t have them all!! I’m looking for a second car so it was originally going to be an R32 but now I’m looking at a 987. You’ve convinced me on Porsche!!! On the gen 1 987 is the 2.7 the better buy? Is it worth pushing the boat out for the gen2?

I was very sad to see my mk2 Gti go It was a beautiful example and I just loved looking at it in my garage :) It was like going back in time as it just roiled out the factory. The guy who bought it was an enthusiast like me and he has just told me he is taking out engine for a complete engine bay respray The space in my garage is for my daughters first car sitting next to my mk5 R32 :) Volkswizard the best you tube channel Thank you Andrew

I remember driving VR6s back in the mid 90s when I worked at a dealer. Lovely noise and design. It's difficult to find a tidy one, I would keep it. How about a quad garage build to give you more space?

Good luck with the sale. I will say the Corrado is a shame, not because they are finding their value but because there are so many bad ones out there finding another is tough without having to do the same work again and having done the body on yours you are are over the hill with a relatively small 1625 plus vat on chains/clutch/head refurb away from perfect Corrado. I get the mk2 thing but a 4 pot golf will be available in any mkx golf for the forseeable... 6 cyl VWs and other brands on the other hand will be short supply.

The VR6 mk3 was very popular in Aus with automatic and rebuilt VW locally after price rise end mk1 imports in early 80s, despite dynamic challenges- Mk4 then mk5 finally rebuilt reputation. Sad to see any car go but logic prevails- content for vids with remaining fleet and now with GT4 should be great for channel growth plus positive ownership experience - GT4 great for anyone to build expertise as mid engined Porsche requires a lot of skill and your journey with this one is a joy to watch 👏🎯🤞🏎

3 things: 1. I feel sorry for you about the audio!! After getting the new one as well! No worries though - worth every second of imparting your knowledge that would have been lost on a retake 2. The GT4 and a KZbinr who thinks he can still learn?! What?! Honesty in this day and age?! What are you playing at! Refreshing. 3. Why aren’t all vehicle sale videos or walk arounds like this. Really informative (like the knowledge about the bottle cut out in the insulation), and great for anyone looking for any Corrado - not just yours. Two of my favourite cars both for sale. Sad to see them go, but it’s the right thing to do. Best of luck - looking forward to the next chapter (Oh yes - and the Up GTI - 10-12wks is really worth selling that great example one, then re buying another one?)

Ahh Mannol, an old company that no one seems to know about now, & German made. I've just used their 7715 5w30 504 / 507 C3 spec oil in my 2013 TT. Only £20 for 5L. So, what you reckon, correct VW spec but not a big brand name? The car sounds good, so are most of us paying over odds for the big names? Have we been brainwashed in thinking you have to pay a certain amount to get proper oil?

Almost 20 years later I still miss my 97 golf vr6 highline despite owning far faster cars. That car had soul despite all the magazine reviews especially with the suspension, a chip and a drilled airbox!

Shame to see VR6 go, but space looks like a premium issue ( + £££!! ) just bought 2016 Audi TT Ultra TDI, has full history and done 58,000. No record of cam belt / water pump being changed. Lots of confusing messages on the various forums as to whether it should be changed or go with the Audi line of every 10 years or 140,000. What are your thoughts as VAG expert…??

Andrew you are now experiencing the consequences of Porsche (GT4)ownership, you may regret selling the corrado even if you find a nice one in the future the price you'll be paying will be more obviously.
