Great RV, I especially liked the extra fridge, sink etc outside - like a good flybridge!! If you can drive that on a car licence, I’m not sure you should be able to!! Some drivers are scary enough in a Ford KA!! 🤣

It makes sense but I never knew different countries varied so much in what is allowed before a cdl. In the states, we allow 13 tons on a regular license, and no limit if the vehicle is registered as an rv. However, some states are stricter, and require a cdl based on length or weight of the rv, and some offer a half step called an rv-endorsment that allows any rv over 260000 lbs, or any rv that is towing a trailer and the combined weight is over 26k, or any pickup truck towing a fifth wheel and then a trailer behind that. Rv endorsement’s are generally pretty easy to get, sometimes just a physical required. Much simpler then a cdl

I love how informative this guy is ie telling us if you need an upgraded driving license etc. Again yes the isn't cheap however saying that you get quite a bit of technical stuff, space, layout and also I feel a really good build for the money. Also it's these types of vehicles cos of the above (along with the other stuff included in this RV) which makes me feel like you could live permanently in one of these plus your also able to have guests stay over if you like. So win win another in my opinion great build and good price point for all you get 👍 Lisa UK

Another great video Nick, thank you.👍 Really like the interior of this one, looks a wee bit more modern than some of the others we have seen on the channel. Although still quite large, it seems ideal for going round the UK, or even Europe. The only downside (and this just my opinion) because the walls are a very light colour it just reminds me of a cheap caravan from years ago, it just makes me think the walls are very thin (although I am aware that their not). Apart from that, I would love to take it round the country in the summer. 🌅🌄🌇 🌞

Pretty much all modern Class A U.S. built RVs are built on some variant of Ford chassis. That Intent, being short and lighter weight, and a little lower to the ground (one external step entry, and that small lip to the drivers platform) is probably on a Ford E-550 stripped chassis. If it is a 2020 or 2021 chassis, it is being powered by Ford’s new 7.3 L V-8. Prior to 2020 these same chassis were powered by the long offered 6.8 L V-10. Larger and heavier Class A gas RVs are on Ford’s F-53 chassis. Similar power plants and transmissions, but heavier duty frame, axels, and suspension. I suspect you’ll get 6-10 mpg.

It depends on when you passed your car license. If you passed your test before jan 1 1997 you can drive a vehicle up to 7.5 tonnes, any date after that you need to sit a C1 for anything over 3.5 tonnes. One further point is a pre 97 license allows you to tow a trailer as long as the total mass is less than 8250kg.

Hello. Great video. Re 7.5 tonnes and licence. That depends when you passed your test. If you got your licence after 1997, I think limit is 3500kgs. So to drive up to 7500kgs you would need to pass C1 test. However, only affects people around 23 and under so probably not in the market for a motorhome. 😀

Thanks for the info!

Surely affects anyone who passed their test in the last 23 years, not just those under 23. I passed my test in 1999. I’m 40. I couldn’t drive this on my licence.

That was my thought as well! To add it as a post-1997 driver isn't cheap or easy either - realistically it's about £500 minimum, and you have to pass a medical! Even then you can't tow a trailer...

Good video, although feel like you are missing a fair chunk of the vehicle by not covering the outside in more detail. I watch the channel Big Truck Big RV, if you've not heard of it and you really like Motorhomes/RV's you should check it out. Every detail covered, but he of course has direct access to brand new RV's in huge dealerships over in the states and is an RV owner himself. Everything is described in terms of brand rather than feature i.e. the steps are "MORyde" steps, the slide outs are "Schwintek Slider" or a the aircon ducts are "Whisper Quiet". But in saying that, I do enjoy Motaholic, the contrast between the British and American perspectives is interesting. Aquaholic is still my favourite boating channel. :-)

It’s typical of most American RVs it’s just dated, lacks the finish of European RVs especially the big German RVs. As for driving on a standard car license that not quite correct. The driving licence requirements for a 7.5-tonne vehicle vary depending on when a driver got their car driving licence. ... However, drivers who passed their car driving test from 1 January 1997 will have to take a separate C1 test in order to drive a 7.5-tonne truck, or any vehicle weighing in excess of 3.5 tonnes.

No information about engine HP/ size or the range of the vehicle Nick, Great RV , but as a truck driver it scares me that a person with a car license can drive this.. Good size, I suppose. But as a former European and now American, why can't these US companies get the interior design right? It's either dark oak or this boring gray. I've seen European motor homes that have style, but this one was completely and utterly forgettable. Such a shame, because this could be such a nice RV instead of the inside of a tub of vanilla yogurt...

I tend to agree with you. Winnebago’s interiors are perfectly serviceable, but they don’t hold the torch for interior appearance or quality in the industry. Plenty of other makers have more ornamentation and “polish”. Fleetwood’s various brands have very nice interiors and better finishes, Tiffin has some do the nicest interiors in US built motorhomes.
