Great review! I just bought a 2013 S10 last week for a great price. 10,000 miles, almost new tires, some good accessories and got it from a trusted dealer. Could be my last bike. CAN'T WAIT for the season to kick into gear and put some miles on it! If you hit northern Maryland, lets ride! Instant sub!

Thanks for the sub. Where are you in Frederick?

Thanks. As for those small bridges with a cover. I had a thought that originally it was to keep horses calm when crossing and another idea was to stand as a status symbol to the owner?? Also to collect a toll charge ??

Love your bike. I had an opportunity to buy a 2016 super ten and regret not getting it as my riding style is similiar to yours. I currently ride a yamaha fjr 1300 2004 as well as the new klr 2022
@Asdfghjkl12343 жыл бұрын
How is your new KLR? I am debating between that and a softly used S10
@friendlylenderspawnstore14723 жыл бұрын
@@Asdfghjkl1234 I like the KLR but I feel like I may trade it in on the new s10 2022. I feel like the klr is best suited for someone who plans on riding at least 50 percent dirt. I usually end up riding 80 percent road and 20 percent dirt. I am going to wait until spring and make my decision.

@@friendlylenderspawnstore1472 thanks very much. I found a gently used 2014 s10 and will move forward and ask for forgiveness later.
@williammahaffy4642 Жыл бұрын
@@friendlylenderspawnstore1472 S10 for sure. I tested both and, since we have similar ride styles, the S10 wins over the KLR by many country road miles. If I don't put 20k on it this season, I will be disappointed.

So has anything changed on the super from 2013 to current? I found a 13 with 4000 miles for 7000 usd. Is that low miles and a good price? Or should I find a newer model? Thank you
@motardsquid2 жыл бұрын
the '12 and '13 are the same. That is a good price on it. I really like the super tenere. I think if you want to get a more updated one '14+ had improvements to the clutch and cct
@totalglitch2 жыл бұрын
@@motardsquid mit the suspension and engine tranny all still the same. Frame ect? Also what is the cct?
@motardsquid2 жыл бұрын
@@totalglitch I dont believe the transmission changed, and the big parts of the engine are all the same. Just little modifications. one of the things 12-13 owners do is put a 14 clutch basket in there. But i never had issues with mine. The super tenere was also available in europe starting in 2010 i believe so it's not a first year here.

Where can you get one for $5k? I'm seeing $7200 and up with 30k miles. You can barely get a cb500x for $5k.
@motardsquid3 жыл бұрын
i've kept my eye on super teneres for a while. But 5k was a very low end. Even saw one for 4500$ but the g uy was desperate to sell. I think you can get a older one for 5500 to 6000. Im in the DC area, so maybe its cheaper here.

If it is such a good bike, how did sand get past my air filter and inside the engine destroying the. Cylinder walls and making the bike useless?

@starhawke38027 күн бұрын
@motardsquid Bike was running fine. One day it won't start. Cranks over fine, wont catch and run. Off to the dealer. Disassemble top, look at fuel, sand and debris everywhere. Look in cylinders, debris and scoring on walls. Compression test, 42 and 44. Recommended solution top end rebuild, new rings, possible new cylinder walls. Estimate $4500 to $7500.
