Mother and Baby Whale Approach Boat Close Enough to Touch | Destination Adventure.

Few times in life am I as shocked by an experience, as this experience right here. I partnered up with Baja Expeditions, for a once in a lifetime opportunity. And that is to visit the only place in the world where whales actually initiate physical encounters with humans. I heard about this opportunity before coming to the Baja, but this is a very difficult one to put together. These waters are heavily regulated, and access to this location is incredibly difficult, so my only option was to reach out for the help of some professionals. Baja Expeditions, has been operating since 1974, so they know this area better than anyone, and in the end, they were the ones to bring me exactly the encounter I was hoping for. During my four day, three night expedition, I spent about 9 hours on the water and had more than a dozen encounters with wild Grey Whales, right beside the boat. Some of them were babies, some of them full grown adults, but each offering a different and incredibly personal experience.
I have had a lot of experiences in the wild that I would consider life changing, but this rings a different bell. These are completely wild animals, they are massive animals and they are dinosaurs. Yet they offer you a brief moment to interact with them in a way they will stay with you for the rest of your life.
I will keep this description brief, because I just don't have the words to even describe it. I hope you all enjoy this video, and I hope it will move you in the way it has moved me.

This was awesome! Whale watching always gets ripped on. I reluctantly admit I was part of that until a trip to Alaska. We had seperate groups of hump backs and Orcas within feet of our boat. They truly are amazing and have something about their presence that can't be explained but only experienced.

Baja Expeditions is a top provider of adventures around Baja & the Sea of Cortez and has been in business forever. Eons ago I went on a scuba diving trip with them, it was a live aboard boat out of La Paz. Was an amazing dive trip & I got to explore a number of the islands too.
