Thanks for the reaction! She recorded 4 cover songs in early 2019 when she was 14, including this one, and called it her "Cover Sessions" EP album. I think you'd REALLY enjoy reacting to her other 3 covers from that EP which are at this link: www.youtube.com/@CourtneyHadwinVEVO Last year she started releasing her first originals, 5 of them, including her Christmas rock song and I highly recommend you check all 5 of those tunes as well. She plans to release her first album of originals early next year.

She was only 15 years old during this cover song. Maybe even 14. One of my favorite voices since the 70's. Please check out more of Courtney.

Hi. So cool that you've re-discovered Courtney's music. She is incredible. Truly a generational level talent. It doesn't sound like you followed what happened to Courtney on AGT after her audition blew up, but she went to the finals. From AGT, you know what an incredible rock voice that she has, and from this song, you can hear what a truly beautiful ballad voice she has. Courtney has shown over the years that she can sing just about anything, and do it exquisitely. From Rock, to R&B, Funk, Soul, Ballads and more. She even had an opera clip go viral. Her vocal range and versatility are simply astounding. Nearly all singers, no matter how great, have their comfort zone. Inside of it, they are fabulous, but outside of it, not so much. With Courtney, we've yet to see where her comfort zone ends, or if their even is an end. BTW, she was only 14 when she recorded this performance, so only a year after her AGT audition. You know a bit about Courtney, but a little more background detail for you and your subscribers. A bit of the AGT audition info may be redundant for you. Although she had been singing for a number of years before, Courtney first rose to worldwide fame when she appeared on the 2018 season of America' Got Talent (AGT) when she was just 13. Her audition went viral and now has over 1 billion overall on line views. Courtney herself is closing in on 3 billion views. She has die-hard fans from virtually every country in the world. While on AGT, Courtney sang exclusively classic rock from the 60's and 70's by the likes of James Brown, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. Courtney was so great on AGT that she was almost immediately signed to a record deal at Syco/Arista records (Sony Music). After AGT, those that knew her from only there, viewed her as this fabulous stage dominating rocker, which she surely is. But, she is so, so much more. As I mentioned above, her range is mind boggling. So in 2019, she released an EP called the 'Cover Sessions', where she took some of the biggest recent hits across different genres, and re-invented them into her vision of the way they could have been sung. They were all sensational. The purpose was to highlight both her incredible vocal versatility and her off the charts creativity. All four of those EP songs (Old Town Road, Sucker, Sign of the Times, Someone You Loved(this reaction)) are available on the KZbin channel and would make great future reactions. Suffice it to say that none of those covers sound anything like the originals. Courtney re-invented each. Her creativity is off the charts. Courtney went through hell to start getting her original music out. First, her label, for years trying to turn her into something she didn’t want to be. Another pop princess. Can you imagine that magnificent voice you just heard being limited to just pop, but there’s more. Of course, there was Covid, which delayed her album release for more than two years. Then her label was sold, creating even more chaos. At the beginning of 2023, as soon as she could, she walked away from her label and went independent. Courtney has a huge song library that she hasn't been able to release because of the reasons described above, but she has shared many of them, in whole or in part with fans, and they are all sensational. She is such a powerhouse as a songwriter. Since she has gone independent in 2023, she has already released five mind blowing originals. Her first three originals were non-rock. They were 'Breakable', a gorgeous gritty ballad, 'That Girl Don't Live Here', an amazing uptempo jazzy number with a touch of almost 1940's Swing and 'Call Me Back', which will rip your heart out every time you hear it. . All are available on her KZbin channel. The fourth release, 'Monsters', was her first step back into her rock persona. It is a rip roaring number that will blow the roof off of more than a few arenas, and acclaim for it has been almost universal. It's a must hear. The last was 'Christmas Rocks', an uptempo, rocky Christmas song that simply will not allow you to stay still when listening. When Courtney is in control of her own destiny, amazing things happen. Now that she's independent, she has said to expect a release every month or two. She also just finished the recording for her debut album, and based on what she has shared to date, it will be epic. So buckle up. It's going to be an incredible ride. I can't wait to hear you react to more of Courtney's music. If you're going to react to more Courtney music, you've got my subscription. Most recent big news in Courtney world is that on April 29th, the New York Pops honored Clive Davis with a huge concert at Carnegie Hall. Everyone who is anyone in music was there. Clive personally invited Courtney to open the show. She shared the stage with Barry Manilow, Dionne Warwick, Melissa Manchester, Busta Rhymes and many others associated with Clive. She blew off the roof and doors and brought the entire audience to their feet at Carnegie in a standing ovation to an unbelievable, stage dominating rendition of Janis Joplin's 'Piece of my Heart'. Janis was Clive's first signee. It was mind boggling. The Pops released a two minute clip of the performance, and in a matter of days, it had millions on views. It is by far the most viewed video the New York Pops have ever released, since they started posting in 2014.

Welcome Back To The Wonderful World Of Courtney Hadwin! You've rediscovered her at an incredible time. KZbin's algorithms must be sleeping on the job. I used to see all the new reactions to Courtney the same day but this is the 3rd or 4th time this year it took me a few days. Anyway, as others have told you 3 days ago, after a lot of stops and false starts and even long dry spells, she released her first 5 original songs last year along with her first four concept videos, played Carnegie Hall this year, leading off a star studded show that included Dionne Warwick, Barry Manilow, John Melencamp, Art Garfunkel, Carlos Santana, Melissa Manchester and more, recorded all the vocals for her debut album, which should be out by New Years, with enough extra to put out some singles before that, which I think she will, so stay tuned! Of the 4 "live cover" songs Courtney made in 2019, Someone You Loved is the most mellow. The other 3 are even more popular. The same 2 guys play with her in front of the same wall of equipment and do a great job while she makes the originals pale in comparison. The little babyface picture at the end is from 2017, when Courtney was on The Voice Kids UK at 12 years old, the year before she was on AGT. That's Will.i.am of the Blackeyed Peas in the thumbnail pic, who also mentioned Janis Joplin in his comments. She made the finals in both shows but inexplicably didn't win either. Between the two shows there were 10 great Courtney performances, 8 of them solos. I enjoyed your reactions very much and look forward to more, Liked and Subscribed! Have a wonderful rest of your day!

This song is part of Courtney's 2019 "Cover Session" EP and 2019 is her peak year so far. She will release her first album this year, I predict she will breakout after her 4th album as a rock singer, because she needs 2 more albums to learn how to balance creativity and commerce to have a successful music career.

Would you believe that it was only within a year from when she was on AGT to when she did this? She was 13 at the audition, and 14 during the live shows. She was 15 at the time of these. There were three others in this set of videos, Sucker, Sign of the Times and Old Town Road. After that, she did a cover of John Lennon's 'Merry Xmas, The War is Over'. After this there was a long gap, due to Covid, issues with the new owners of the studio, things like that. She did a lot of things online, like an acoustic version of Tina Turner's What's Love Got To do with It, played her cover of a song called Love Hurts,... things like these. On her 18th Birthday, she was at a Hawaiian style Tiki bar in Turkey, and did a Karaoke performance of Proud Mary. And last year, she became independent. She released five songs throughout the year, Breakable, That Girl Don't Live Here, Call Me Back, Monsters and Christmas Rocks. This year, she was the opening act for the NY Pops at Carnegie Hall. And she is in the process of getting her debut album released.

Strongly recommend Ms. Courtney Hadwin's originals. 5 singles (4 with music vids) released in 2023 as an indie singer-songwriter. Debut album finally in production after so many frustrating setbacks in shifting music industry. Try 'Breakable'. If you want those rock growls, try her cover of 'Sucker' in this same EP of 4 songs in her 'Cover Sessions' EP, or her most recent appearance on stage at Carnegie Hall in NYC with NY Pops 41st Birthday Gala. She was personally invited by Clive Davis in memory of his signing of Janis Joplin back at the tail end of the 1960's. He asked her to sing 'Piece of My Heart' to open as first guest artist. Here's link to a video mashing up views from both official vid and fan vid from balcony: music.kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXWwap2Pltt_p6M
