She's an incredible young artist, and she has just turned 18 mid last year. She was with Simon Cowells record label, but due to COVID and other issues, she could not produce that much under that label, so this year she has gone independent. She is trying to get an album of originals produced, so, she needs all the help and support that she can get.

Hi Britt. So cool you came across Courtney and loved your reaction. You'd have no way of knowing this yet after hearing just the one song, but Courtney is the best thing we've seen come into music in decades. Not only are her vocals unparalleled, but she dominates a stage like no other, is a powerhouse as a songwriter and her creativity is just off the charts. You hit it spot on when you said you can hear touches of the range Courtney has when listening to this song. Courtney may be a rocker at heart, but her vocal versatility is unmatched. She can sing Rock, R&B, Funk, Soul and Ballads and there is never the slightest bit of a loss in the incredible quality of her music regardless of genre. Her transitions are flawless and exquisite. She truly is a generational level talent. The most unbelievable thing is that she was just 14 when she recorded this performance. Although she had been singing for a number of years previously, she rocketed to worldwide fame when she appeared on the 2018 season of America's Got Talent (AGT). Her audition went viral and now has well over 500M views and Courtney has overall more than 2 Billion views. While on AGT, she sang exclusively classic rock from the 60's and 70's by the likes of Tina Turner, James Brown and Janis Joplin. To see her onstage is a wonder to behold. Because most people first discovered her on AGT, most viewed her as only this incredible rocker, which she most certainly is, but she is so much more. So in 2019, she released a four song EP where she took recent massive hit songs across multiple genres and re-invented them. The goal was to highlight the amazing range she had as well as her tremendous creativity. 'Sucker' was one of the songs from this EP. As you're so familiar with the song, you know the original was a pop song by the Jonas Bros. and Courtney turned it into this funk anthem. To hear Courtney sing a ballad is to really understand what a truly beautiful voice she has. The only reason that Courtney is not a mega-star already is mostly due to really bad luck with timing. She was so good on AGT that she was signed to the Syco/Arista records label (Sony Music), but just as she was nearing the point of releasing her debut album of original music, Covid hit, and due to lock downs and travel bans (Courtney is from the UK), her first album was repeatedly delayed by over two years. The big news out of the Courtney camp is that she has confirmed that she will be releasing her debut original this month. Based on clips she has shared, it is a magnificent song called 'Breakable'. Courtney has millions of fans across the globe that having been waiting for this moment and the built up anticipation for this release is phenomenal. It will be epic. I've her called "The Queen of Rock" before. We learned of Courtney on AGT where she got the "Golden Buzzer" by Howie Mandel and took it by storm and sang 5 songs, the last song was an original... definitely worth checking out

Definitely recommend you get in to Courtney. You can go way back to when she was ten. Well worth looking into. Her Voice Kids Britain are actually epic for a twelve year old,and before when she was busking with her father taking her to various venues.

Her 2018 AGT audition performance was incredible. To be 13 (at the time) and sing and perform Janis Joplin the way she did was absolutely incredible. She has a very bright future in the industry and I hope she stays independent moving forward.

You look like you would really enjoy Courtney's all around diversity. You seemed to have already got an good vibe on all she can do. She's not about singing only one style and genre. Try looking into these two ballads from that some time period. I didn't like "Sucker" until she performed it. Hers is the only version I listen to. "Sign of the Times" was one I saw a couple of years ago after not hearing from her for a while. It reminded me why I like her so much. I hope she quickly becomes a worldwide sensation. She works so hard and really deserves it. BTW, that was really thoughtful of you to provide links. I realize too, that some people who leave comments to songs don't know how to leave a link. So it's helpful for them too. Courtney deserves that world wide recognition. I think, as long as people get to somehow hear her, she will become and automatic sensation. She had some haters early on, but now that those same people see she's can sing anything and not just rock, she's change a lot of their minds on her.

I love Courtney in everything she does. I have never heard anyone say anything bad about any of her live covers. She does them all with conviction and spirit. The song Courtney sang for the golden buzzer wasn’t a Janis Joplin song. It was ‘Hard to Handle’, first by Otis Redding, and later by the Black Crowes. Howie mentioned Janis Joplin in his comment because he was comparing the style of Courtney’s audition. However, Courtney did sing a Janis Joplin song, ‘Piece of my Heart’, later on AGT which was sensational.

Great reaction Britt! Courtney is a once in a lifetime singer/songwriter. She excels at everything she does and can sing any genre. Many times she re-imagines songs sung differently like she did in “Sucker”- far out does the original. Now she is singing mostly her own songs and has an original single coming out this month. Courtney records with a half dozen plus of song writers and producers but Covid and Cowell's sale of his Syco Music label to Sony Music mucked everything up. Courtney constantly commented on social media she was recording but very little was released. All scheduled performances were cancelled including Woodstock 50 and all three FM4 Frequency Festival appearances. An alternative label deal also fell through. Its not been a good time for performers like Courtney.

Courtney interviewed with Howie Mandel in Dec 2021 saying she was expecting to make an announcement soon on the new deal but the announcement never happened. She only said she was going to Pittsburgh. The most probable label is the one handling the Ghosthounds Maple House our similar.

I was just watching a bunch of your other reactions to some comedians and then to Susan Boyle's iconic audition on BGT and saw the tears from you at the end. I thought that if you watch Courtney's audition on AGT 2018 kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYGrh3-uop2IY5I you will surely go into shock and erupt in tears at the end of her video. It's one of the most watch AGT videos of all time. Worth a look at least once, but I doubt you can only watch it once. Most of us still get chills watching it over and over again.
