I used to walk home from school with Andy Every day. He lived 4 blocks from my house. I never knew he wanted to sing or start a band at that time. He was just the nicest cutest blondie and a joy to walk home with. I'm a huge fan of his talent but I'd love to go back and get him back. He was just my "Walk Home Buddie" from Ingraham but I loved him!! RIP Andy!!

Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Nirvana will be forever the bands of my life. I was a teenager during the 90' when I grow up with this genious. Damn, this is transitional from glam rock to grunge. Mother love bone is the missing link seperating 80s rock and 90s rock.
@LordPadriac3 жыл бұрын
The transitional part you're looking for is the approximately ten to fifteen years everyone forgets about when glam and punk and pop and hardcore and metal were percolating in the underground clubs of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest and picking up little pieces from around the country as groups got together for summer regional tours of small clubs all over the country and into Canada. It didn't just pop up in in the early 90s; it was a long slow burn that just happened to catch fire in the 90s.

I don’t think so at all. I think you’re COMPLETELY WRONG. Mother Love Bone was a relic of another time in 1990. The “music” they were creating was Guns’N Roses knock-off music--- this song sounds like “Patience.” Mother Love Bone was not good. If Andrew Wood wouldn’t have died, few people would have known about Mother Love Bone. Nirvana would have still did what they did. Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, too, and Smashing Pumpkins and PJ Harvey and Radiohead, too, and Pavement and Liz Phair, too. The only difference, if Andrew Wood would have lived: You never would know of Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam. No Pearl Jam songs would exist. Instead: A bunch of forgettable Mother Love Bone songs would exist that don’t exist. MLB would have made 2 or 3 more horrible albums. When your lead singer is awful at lyrics and singing, it’s impossible to overcome. I’m sorry Andrew died because it sounds like he was WONDERFUL and COOL and a GREAT PERSON, but the songs were awful. I’m sure I couldn’t do better. Mother Love Bone was not a leader, they were a follower of Guns’N Roses. Pearl Jam was DEFINITELY a leader of Alternative and Grunge, even though PJ is not a fan of labels like those.
@Principessa1802 жыл бұрын

Not gonna lie, I bought this cassette from Walmart back in 91 or 92. There was a sticker on the front that said “members of Pearl Jam”. Me, being a 16 year old grunge fanatic I bought it. Wore it out. The songs are good. But they’re different. They don’t necessarily sound like the grunge we’re used to. Grunge was gonna happen with or without MLB. Soundgarden got signed as well around the time MLB did. Melvins were playing in drop D and other bands took notice. There was a change in the air and we all felt it, it’s been 30 years now and this music still courses through our veins. We can all speculate and say this or that....I’d rather just enjoy the music and let that bitter sweet and happy yet depressing feeling of nostalgia pass over my body while I think about the past and regrets and people of my youth.

My husband(Bob) was fortunate enough to see Mother Love Bone in Missoula MT days before the release of their album Apple. The following night he took three friends he worked with to Spokane WA to see this awesome new band he had seen the night before.They arrived several hours early and were playing pool when Andrew Wood recognized him from the Missoula show the night before.He stopped and talked with Bob for about five minutes,they mostly talked about basketball (Supersonics vs. Lakers)and how after their show in Missoula they traveled up the Bitterroot Valley to Jeff Aments grandmothers house for some Early morning breakfast.They all had the strawberry jam on their toast and three hours later on the way to Spokane at sunrise on top of Lookout Pass they were "LITE" ( Apparently when you can your own jams or jelly if it is not properly sealed under the right conditions it can turn into a hallucinogen)He thanked him and his friends for coming out and to get ready to be "blown away"by their second album that they were already writing songs for.,he thought it "might " be titled "PEARL JAM" after Jeff's grandma Pearl's Jam.Anyway fast forward to 2011 ,I meat Bob we become engaged and one day we go outside Stevensville MT to pick apples(of all things) at an old ass apple where lots of people have picked for years,we help this wonderful woman Who introduces Herself as Pearl there load her apples and talk with her a bit As shes leaving she asks if I might know her Grandson his name is Jeff and he plays with this band I might of heard of "PEARL JAM" WOW what a small world we live in/on.I sure wish that Andrew was here in these trying times to lend a kind word or write a song to lift our spirits or maybe change the world.THANK YOU!!! My brother taught me the sound of grunge. This track was not it, but... Chloe Dancer was part of it. Unfortunately, my brother passed away few years ago. But what he introduced to me was priceless.. I cry every now and then along with these classics, and sometimes I even laugh. But... my brother was like Andrew... he lived loved, he lived fast... he loved grunge. And I love grunge. Thank you my big brother, I love you.

I love reading the comments I am 44 so these songs remind me of high school my brother got me into the Seattle sound early he was a Marine so he had friends that he was stationed with from Seattle. So he would always come home with all these awesome bands Mother Love Bone is my favorite, that perfect sound bridging the best of badass glam stage presence with that soulful almost bluesy sound and man those vocals. Allot of people don’t know about this album or Mother Love Bone’s place in Seattle sound. They were going to be the premier act from Seattle, the bassist and guitarist from mother love bone went on to form a little band called Pearl Jam so there you go. Andrew Woods roommate and best friend Chris Cornell was writing an album while he was on the road when he heard of his best friends death. He wrote a couple of songs and named the album after Andrew Woods song lyrics called Temple of the Dog. Where by happenstance another singer on that album Eddie Vedder worked for the first time with his future band mates from Pearl Jam. If Andrew Wood would’ve not passed away God only knows what kind of brilliance we would have experienced. Instead he did exactly what he wanted leave himself and his sound immortalized within the confines of this one unbelievable album.

z28pjmcg me and my friends litterally dropped in the park!!! LOL. 9 took a bunch of acid. went to the park at like 5 am and slept in the high weed/grass. the put the fencing up near us, which woke us up. we all got up and they laughed at us for doing that sleepover. lol we still had to have the special wristbands to be there. so we had to take a shuttle, which they let us get on going the opposite way, basically gave us a ride to the spot to get the bracelet. then bused back to the show. all on acid. so awesome!!! you can find that day on youtube
