I think the daughter has seen the repercussions of Angela's actions and words and how they hurt people and she's learned she doesn't want to be that way. If you really want to get into it, Oprah, Charlize Theron, Halle Berry and many more had very tumultuous childhoods and verbally/mentally/emotionally/physically abusive parents (yes, Angela is verbally, mentally, and emotionally abusing her older daughter), and they haven't carried on that cycle. People take good things from their parents and carry it, and they leave the things they don't like. Everyone does that. I have a positive thing to say about this mother. She made sure that her children were well educated so that they became strongly convicted and well-spoken.
