Saw them open for ACDC in 77. They rocked the house down so much that people left when ACDC played. 2 weeks later the tour was canceled because it happened at every concert. I wouldn't have believed it had I not witnessed it myself. They still kickin it today too. Good as this song is, their song "Fire" may be their best rock song . The most underrated band ever. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

"Truth Will Set You Free," "Burning Love," "Fire" etc....they just smoke! I saw them in 1979 in a small venue in south Georgia. I've seen many bands through the years with some big names, but Mother's Finest put on the best show of all. It is non-stop party. Joyce " Baby Jean" Kennedy is cousin to Chaka Khan as you can tell by the vocals...and she can still perform at that level. Yes, they are still around! They are from Atlanta, by the way, and are very popular in Germany: that is where that show was taped. Another Mother Further is a slamming album as well as their self titled album in 1976.Many radio stations initially didn't play their music because they didn't know if it was hard rock, soul or funk because they lean on funk/hard rock and some current metal. Just a great band.
@hog7203Ай бұрын
Another Mother Further is one of my favorite albums by any artist. The CD got stuck in my car stereo and it was several weeks before I could get it out But I didn't really care. I just played it over and over. When I finally got it out, a couple of days later, I put it back in and listened to it again 😆

@TonyaPoindexter-w5iАй бұрын
It was funk, it was rock, but to me it was soul. Then again there was as many types of soul as there were rock. Seriously, all of the music evolved together, into some beautiful, crazy, wild, living thing. It holds power, and yet can leave you in tears. Music is the reflection of life, faint and slight but forever living it's mark.

And the one thing I loved about her was...SHE WOULD ZONE OUT in a way that she sang the endings the same way EVER !!!! The band would just watch to see whatshe was going to do and follow her lead. The longer she sang the more energized she became. BY FAR the most underrated performer in history.
