A year ago, my 103 year old mother in law kept holding on, her story was very similar to what you stated about your dear mother. The staff at my mother in laws facility kept on coming into the room to visit and check on her. Hospice and nurses took great care of her, and then the Chaplin on call stopped by. He visited with her and said prayers together and asked if she needed anything else, she jus nodded her head no. Before he left, he leaned in closely to her and said to her kindly, "When you see the Lord, grab his hand." we all smiled, and thanked him for the prayers before he quietly left the room. i thought those words were brilliant because she didn't think it was okay to let go. Knowing the Lord was there for her gave her peace, and she passed away in her sleep that evening. I hope this helped.❤

I remember reading about one of Billy or Ruth Graham’s Mothers? They told how during her last few days in the hospital room that she seemed to be spending time going back and forth from here to heaven and one day she sat straight up in her bed and lit up beaming at the window arms outstretched and said Oh my LORD JESUS and she was gone with Him❤ How beautiful!, that they were there for that glorious moment ❤

SO HARD TO WATCH... My wish is to be home... I recalled being here when my daughter was dying on hospice .I could not be in the room when she passed and do think she waited till I left .I was with a friend trying to heal herself naturally from cancer that was visiting us at the time .just outside the house .My younger daughter and I walked around the gardens together when Elisa passed . Corina is getting her masters specializing in helping in elder care .The Shefeild mums are so hardy and tough .I am so proud of you for saving them . They were planted along the sidewalks of the veteran's housing we stayed in after ww2. MY grandfather bought the farm during the war. My father was a marine wounded in Japan. My mother took them to the farm and I took them here .The original farm is now a forest ..sold to support her eldercare . This place was built by the original homesteaders of the farm where I grew up . Plumbing and electric came with the poultry industry . There was a windmill that pumped water on the farm and a tractor ground the grain and cut the firewood using a belt. Before the tractor , my grandfather used a team of horses for power . I don't want to depend on a generator.. I was with my grandfather when he passed in the hospital from a heart attack .I was grateful that he seemed at peace .We had become close before he died as I was recovering from losing a child ...

Prayers for your Mom Kaye. Lost my Mom in 2021 after a year long battle with Brain cancer. It was a terrible way to go. She just kept hanging on. And was in a state like your Mom at the end. Lost Dad very suddenly 5 years ago. In my 62 years two of the hardest things in my life, losing my parents. Losing them changes us. They were always the ones that were there for us throughout our lives. When they are gone it leaves a huge hole in our hearts. And a big void in our lives. We have to move forward without them. We can still honor them by being the good people they raised us to be. And keeping them in our hearts and soul. I often still have the urge to call my Mom. I used to talk with her every day. Then I remember she is not here. But I still talk to her. Up in Heaven. I know she is there! Continue to be there for your Mom. Hold her hand. Talk to her. Tell her you love her. Even if it seems she doesn't know you are there. She knows! 🙏

Every day it is a fight to put one foot in front of the other the minute your feet hit the floor! I know this much, broken people are living broken lives in a broken world and I find myself constantly in prayer for either someone else’s situation or my own. I watch this broken world through tears because of the evil and adversity we face. These are perilously times we are living in, I dare to say, prophetic times and if you are able to discern the season, you can feel the heaviness in the air. But there is hope….no matter what dark valley we find ourselves in, we are not alone if you call out to Jesus. If His eye is on the sparrow then I know He watches me, such reassurance means I have hope. And you have hope! This is not our home and we are not yet the finished product but we are being made stronger and richer each day as we lean on His strength. Oh, Kaye, I had a similar experience with my 97-year-old mom two (2) years ago. Once she lost her sight, she really gave up. She didn't lose her teeth, but stopped eating. Hospice was wonderful. May your mom pass gently.

I'm saying prayers of comfort for you, your family, and your mom. This journey she is on is more difficult for us than for her. I believe someone already there will be coming to guide her home. That always gave me some comfort that whether or not I was there my mom wouldn't be alone. We had a generator (my husband always kept it up) when Helene went through and it still failed so we lost everything in freezers and refrigerators. It's rough having to replace everything but with God's help we will get through it.

I am so sorry for all you are going through. I am praying for you and your mom. My mother was in a terrible car accident on August 16th. She was in the ICU until September 27th. She got moved to a specialty care center. She is getting better. Its a very slow process and it seems like she take 1 step forward and 2 steps back. I thank the Lord she is still here however long it takes. I had to let my garden go because i just didnt have the time. I just wanted to let you know that you inspire me to keep going! Hi Kaye, my husband hooking our generator up to the house. We invested in a larger one that has dual fuel and auto start as well. So slowly but surely we are trying to prepare for the things that are coming. I know how difficult it is to watch your mother go through this time in her life, and we are all praying. I have listened to many hospice nurses and at this stage in your mom's life I believe they can keep her pretty comfortable. I know she looks frail but the Lord is with her. He will never leave her and I know he comforts her even though she can't tell you.Try and believe this. Her walk with the Lord was strong. And I know the Lord will tell her on the day he takes her home "Well done good and faithful servant!" Praying she just goes to sleep and wakes up in eternity to Jesus holding his arms out to welcome her home! Sending you much love and hugs. Now I am off for my cancer treatment. I have to drive almost 2 hours there 2 hours back. Thankfully for only 3 weeks. I'm halfway done! Godbless. Have a day filled with joy and love! Take it a day at a time. ❤

Happy Fall Kaye! It is so hard this part of life. A few of us are staying with my husband’s mother she is 96 she had a few strokes. Some days she is good and other days she is confused. We are taking turns with her staying with her from 3 to 12:00 am so my brother n law can work. He moved in with her in 2005:and has been her caregiver ever since, but she is at a stage where she needs care all the time. She is so sweet it’s sad to see her confused. Last night I came in and she didn’t recognize me and repeatedly asked where I work it is so sad. She is tough and she has stated she wants to live to a 100 god willing, I believe she is tough enough and strong willed enough. I am praying for our country! Things are very concerning.
