Rhonda Stoppe describes her early motherhood challenges of raising a son, which was intimidating to her. She found help through group of older women mentors (her “Mommy Club”). She urges moms to see their role as ministry in shaping sons to be good and godly men. Rhonda described her challenges of raising son Brandon, who has epilepsy, as well as her son Tony, whom the Stoppes informally “fostered” for several years. Rhonda outlines several practical suggestions to moms about spiritual training, how to communicate with boys, and supporting the father-son relationship as a wife.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE INTERVIEW I needed to hear this. My son is 12. I was saved when he was 10. He’s the only one of my four kids who is not getting baptized this summer. I cannot wait to learn more from this woman. Thank you Lord

Single mom. I need to pray for social connections in general and definitely to find good role model. We’re really isolated.

I just got done raising our only son and 2 things resonated with me. 1. "Don't steal your husband's respect". I wish I would have realized from the very beginning how damaging it was to my husband's relationship with our kid's, when I would question and argue with him in front of the kids. Also, I constantly rescued my son. It did not help him at all, it actually hurt him. When he turned on me, it really hurt my feelings. In my mind I thought, I put my own self and marriage on the line to help you and this is the thanks I get? 2. I had to give it all to my husband too and I wish I would have done it when he was 10 and not 16. Our saving grace was our son knowing Jesus and he joined the Marine Corps. Any self discipline that I took from him, by rescuing him all the time, has since been instilled.😂 If your son is lacking a male role model, don't rule out the military in helping him become a man.

And THAT is why our common enemy, wants women to become anything else but not to become "a helper" for men. So much feminism and other "isms" are not the answer. Women are neccesary for men and viceversa in order to get a healthy human experience. Thanks Rhonda!

I am now 68 and have had 3 major surgeries in less than 8 months, including 2 spinal surgeries. I was a single parent to 2 boys, now 31 and 40, who’ve recently thrown in my face, the mistakes I made raising them alone. I was so sad 😭. I’ve never professed to have been perfect, but to have it done now and being in a vulnerable place. 😢 I was not a partying mama, nor did I even date. I worked full time +, and we were active in 3 churches, until cpl ladies (my age) at one church betrayed my family and did some nasty things, negatively influencing my eldest. I do have more forgiveness to do in that regard. Right now, I’m not sure what to do w/sons. Youngest ‘ghosting’ now. Feel hurt.
