Yes. Tell kids the “why” to the rules. There is always a reason why, or we wouldn’t have them.

I tell my kids to obey first and ask why afterwards. They usually aren't interested. If they think I might be making the wrong call, they are allowed to seek an exception, asking, "Did you consider....?" and then I promise I'll consider it and then decide. But sometimes I will not give a why because it concerns private information about another person. So it's not as straightforward as always sharing the why.

As someone who has a strong-willed toddler I can say this is MUCH easier said than done! It is so stressful and embarrassing to have your child screaming in the middle of a restaurant and see the disapproving and judgmental stares of the people around you. It’s just really hard and I feel like instead of this man sitting back and judging the parents, maybe he could’ve tried to help, or the very least had some compassion for them. I agree that we should set firm boundaries for our children, but it really is very hard to do surrounded by a group of judgements eyes.

Starting his priceless advice isn’t something that is a magic wand. Starting while your child is having a tantrum out in public for the first time would only frustrate you. Listen to his podcasts ~ he is brilliant! He isn’t a best seller bcs he sits back and judges~ he has put in the work and years and time ~ his advice works. But it is way more than a 30 min KZbin video. His books are on sale ALL the time on Amazon for only $1.99 ~ I would dig in and read some of his work before passing judgement Blessings and peace to you ♥️

1. AGE APPROPRIATE IS a Priorital key: "fathers DO NOT provoke your children to wrath" "the sins of the fathers' visit the children to the 3rd and 4th generation, but the Blessing to 1000generations" 2. Teaching Godly attributes, integrity, honesty, character IS NOT a form/process..... Children aren't toys or little adults.....they're children they don't know what they want it is a learned behavior/habit. 3. It IS the Parents' "Response Ability" to live it by example Not that we are perfect, but thinking produces choices. 4. Principles that promote a "reverential" Godly life even when noone is watching, bc what you do when noones' there, = you'll eventually DO in front of your children and others 5. You have to "look both ways" not by an unstable double-minded imagination. 6. The 7-deadlysins isn't equal to the 9+fruitful gifts of the HolySpirit

Are you talking about parenting in 2024 with cell phones and the internet? You're crazy to trust your young children! Your children shouldn't have cell phones at age 12. When they have a job, they can pay for their cell phone.

Sadly this advice is not every parent. Some children are very difficult and we need a little compassion for the parents dealing with these children
