Episode 14 Notes: Safiyya Bint Huyay RA Safiyya RA was the only non-Arab wife of the Prophet SAW and she was from the Banu Nadir tribe. This made her a Yahudi and her father was Huyay Ibn Akhtab. Her tribe tried to kill Prophet SAW and they were exiled from Medina to Khaybar. Safiyya RA’s father was executed by the Prophet SAW, following the loss of the Pagans at the Battle of Khandaq. Her mother died before the coming of Islam. She was 17-18 at the time of marriage to the Prophet SAW. She was the favourite of her father’s children. Her father knew the Prophet SAW was a true prophet and he swore to reject him. Safiyya RA was married twice, the 1st marriage ended in a divorce and the 2nd marriage was one of abuse. She had dreams of marrying the Prophet SAW before she even met him. Her 2nd husband was killed fighting the Muslims during the Battle of Khaybar and she was taken captive as a Milk Al-Yamin. She was given to Dihya Al Kalbi RA but, the Sahabah RA felt it would be better for her to be given to the Prophet SAW due to her being the chiefs daughter. The Prophet SAW offered her to become Muslim and stay with him or remain a Yahudi. She chose to embrace Islam because she wanted to do that, before she was even brought before the Prophet SAW. The Prophet SAW then freed her and that became her mahr. She got married in Muharram 7AH and the consummation was made enroute back to Medina. Safiyya RA was known to be naturally beautiful. Not all of the Sahabah RA trusted Safiyya RA at first, due to how easily she accepted Islam and how enthusiastic she was about Islam. But, Safiyya RA proved them wrong and showed them her sincerity. The Walima for Safiyya RA was done after the consummation on the way back to Medina. Once she got to Medina, a house was built for Safiyya RA and she then moved in. Some of the Ummahatul Mumineen would put Safiyya RA down for being from a Yahudi ancestry and the Prophet SAW would comfort her. He also told her to take pride In her ancestry, for it contains many Prophets AS. When the Prophet SAW was on his deathbed and had a bad fever, Safiyya RA commented on how she wished she could take his pain instead. Some of the other wives snapped at her for this comment but, the Prophet SAW defended her and swore on Safiyya RAs honesty. After the demise of the Prophet SAW, she lived a quiet life and did a 2nd hajj with the rest of the Ummahatul Mumineen. Safiyya RA was a very kind hearted and forgiving lady. Safiya RA’s house was next to Uthman RAs and during the Khilafah of Uthman RA, she provided him with food when he was boycotted by the mob. She passed away between 50-52 AH and died at around 60 years old in reign of Muawiyah RA. Safiya RA passed away with 100,000 Dirhams which was distributed to whomever her will dictated. Fun Trivia fact: In Islam a slaves freedom can be their Mahr. Fun Trivia fact: Safiyya RA would make the most exotic food and cook the most out of all of the wives of the Prophet SAW. =================================================================================== Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Ummahatul Mumineen Series: Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s the Mothers of the Believers series. Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s MOB series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it. You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes. One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah. Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins during this blessed month and beyond! Ameen

It’s frustrating how islamaphobes turn this into accusations of sex slavery and rape.
@holeyabdool65903 жыл бұрын
You weren't there asshole so you can NEVER say she wasn't raped or not. History is always told by the Victor so who can really. In your false religion, men, especially father, husband, and uncles are to be the most important people in a womans' life. When your prophet murdered ALL 3 MEN IN HER LIFE, she dishonored her and humiliated her! Your sick prophet even went as far as taking her as a trophy and "MARRIING" her and had the audacity of RAPING HER ALL WITHIN THE SAME NIGHT!!
@MrMShake3 жыл бұрын
@@holeyabdool6590 you contradicted yourself in a single comment initially claiming I can't claim rape or not and go on to claim rape. The prophet would NOT have married her until after her iddah in accordance with the Quran widows can only be married after 4 months and 10 days; "If any of you die and leave widows, the widows should wait for *four months and ten nights before remarrying.* When they have completed this set time, you will not be blamed for anything they may reasonably choose to do with themselves. God is fully aware of what you do. You will not be blamed whether you give a hint that you wish to marry these women, or keep it to yourselves- God knows that you intend to propose to them. *Do not make a secret arrangement with them; speak to them honourably and do not confirm the marriage tie until the prescribed period reaches its end.* Remember that God knows what is in your souls, so be mindful of Him. Remember that God is most forgiving and forbearing." - quran.com/2/234-235
