The "sewer" is pronounced sow-er (because it sews leaves shut) but I didn't realize until I watched this video that it's the exact same spelling as a septic system

I hate to Acshually but we have them here and they're interesting if destructive. Grape *leaf* Skeletonizers have these tiny blue-lined caterpillars that eat all the green parts of the leaves of crop plants, notably grapes, leaving just the "skeleton" of veins standing there. They work fkn quick too.

I feel like this is one of the few situations where both entomology (study of bugs) and etymology (study of language evolution) are relevant, so both of you are right in my opinion

I had to identify moths id caught as part of my college course last year and if I remember correctly it's called the Hebrew moth because the black markings on the wings look like hebrew characters

God these silly named moth videos r like candy to my brain for some reason I've related both of them several times sfsvsg The Triangles moth sure is very triangles!! Also I've seen and held exposed bird dropping moths, cute lil suckers (who do in fact look like bird shit lmao) Even shared my breakfast with one while sitting outside at the picnic table, had made some oatmeal with maple syrup, scraped some of the syrupy stuff at the bottom of the bowl onto my finger and had one that kept sipping and chilling on my finger for almost an hour

I legit love moths so much!! Owl-Eyed-Bird-Dropping Moth, Dingy Cutworm Moth, Gooseberry Barkminer, Little Devil, Hag Moth, Ugly-nest Caterpillar Moth , Wretched Olethreutus, The Scribbler, The Beggar, and The Little Beggar are some other funny names (plus they're all native to the northeastern region of the united states I think that's cool!)

These aren’t scientific names, but all of the names here are hilariously enough real, accepted common names for these moth species (mostly pulled from my Peterson’s field guide to moths, some from Wikipedia and iNaturalist). If you’ve noticed that any are wrong, please let me know!
