His mental strength always shines bright. When he sets his mind on something, he always achieves it. In 2018, he said he was going for his personal best, and right from the start line, he separated himself from the rest; he broke the world record by a margin of 1 minute and 18 seconds, a margin of world record improvement never seen in a marathon since 1967. In 2022, he stated that he was going for his personal best and managed to break his own world record. He wanted to win in Berlin in 2015, but he had problems with his shoes' insoles just a few kilometers into the race; he finished first while bleeding. I am sure that when he says he's going for a sub-2 in an official race, nothing will separate him from that goal.

Kipchoge is among the most exciting athletes to watch perform. You just love everything about him: his superhuman performances in marathons (including going undefeated for 7 straight years, between September 30, 2013 and September 30, 2020); his beautiful running style (you gotta love his track action); his longevity (since 2002, winning several medals in track before switching to the road in 2012); his humility and love for humanity (he likes spending time in Kaptagat training camp with other athletes on weekdays and living a simple life despite the great wealth he has amassed over the years). And he's still going strong, with a goal of becoming the first athlete in history to win three marathon Olympic gold medals in Paris in 2024.

@@bonniefxweru5289 hi, yes it is legal if the pacers can keep up. At the 2019 Abu Dhabi marathon the pacer felt so good that he completed the marathon in the first place. So basically pacers are actuals runners in the race. Hope this helps.
