I thought i was sick, like having the flu and nauseous. Something told me to go to ER...it was 4 in the morning...no chest pain or arm pain, alert, walking and talking. I was walked into ER exam room while 6 nurses stood at the nurses station gabbing (slow night in the ER). After 15 minutes i got up and went to nurses station and asked to been seen... Immediately diagnosed as having a heart attack and was in surgery 20 minutes later! Was in ICU for 4 days. If something does not feel right DONT WAIT. I didnt have classic symptoms but taking action saved my life.❤

I was in same boat as you, got my landlord to drive me to ER and from that point on have no memory until 2 weeks later when I woke up with paddle burns on my chest and big scabs on my knees ( I apparently tried to fight my way out of hospital after being revived) . Took 22 minutes to get my heart started again . Fortunately doc was standing right next to me when I coded. All I remember is I didn't feel right, and needed to go to ER. Trust your gut

You need to schedule an appointment with your cardiologist to discuss your symptoms. During this visit, you should undergo testing for atrial fibrillation (Afib) to determine if this condition is affecting your heart. Early diagnosis and management are crucial for your heart health, so don’t delay in seeking this evaluation.

An important item I heard which didn’t even occur to me but makes perfect sense is when calling 911, go unlock your front door or apartment door to allow easy access for first responders. I would add, if you can, put any dogs or cats in a closed room. They won’t interfere with the help that arrives nor are they at risk for running out the door as help is coming and going.

Hi! I am a nurse and a woman who had a heart attack 3yrs ago at 30. It started with substernal chest pain. I thought a soccer ball hit my chest, but as I was breast feeding, i thought it was my 9m old son hitting to find the breast. Over the next 12hrs, I went for a walk (foolishly) and I was severely exhausted just lifting my 9m old from car seat to stroller. During the walk, my left arm went numb. I immediately went to buy aspirin, took 2, and got someone to drive me to the ER. Got 3 stents because of blockages (100, and 90%) in two separate arteries. Looking back, I had weeks leading up where walking up 4 steps were work for me. I thought I just was out of shape bc gyms were closed due to Covid, and I was resting at the tail end of my pregnancy and Mat leave (c section). Always always always take an aspirin when in doubt. It will save your life. Carry it on hand, in your car, in your purse.

Never drive yourself to the ER when you have chest pain. Call an ambulance so you will be seen by a doctor immediately. People that walk into an ER with chest pain are not always treated as emergencies. Arriving by ambulance changes how and when you are treated.

What if you're already on Warfarin blood thinner? Can you still have a heart attack? Would you also take Aspirin?
@Pynksaffron21 сағат бұрын
Yes, that’s correct. Patients who are taking anticoagulants such as warfarin are likely experiencing different effects compared to those using aspirin. Aspirin functions by making platelets-tiny cell fragments involved in blood clotting-more slippery, which helps to prevent them from clumping together and forming clots. On the other hand, medications like Eliquis, Plavix, Coumadin, and Brilinta inhibit various pathways in the blood coagulation process, ultimately reducing the blood's ability to clot. This distinction is important because each medication works through different mechanisms, impacting how they are used to manage conditions like atrial fibrillation or after certain types of vascular events.
@Pynksaffron21 сағат бұрын
In general, individuals on anticoagulants such as warfarin may still be able to take aspirin, but there are important distinctions to consider. Aspirin primarily acts by making platelets less sticky, thereby reducing their ability to clump together and form clots. In contrast, medications like Eliquis, Plavix, Coumadin, and Brilinta work by different mechanisms to inhibit the overall coagulation process in the blood. Warfarin, for instance, interferes with the synthesis of certain clotting factors that are dependent on vitamin K, which plays a crucial role in the body’s ability to form blood clots. Similarly, Eliquis and Brilinta target specific pathways in the coagulation cascade to prevent clot formation. Therefore, while aspirin may be used alongside these medications, it’s important to consult a healthcare provider to evaluate the risks and benefits, as the combination can affect bleeding risks and overall cardiovascular health.

Sorry, but this is 1. NOT true and 2. when it comes down to Aspirin a very BAD advice !!! The root cause of Heart attacks is NOT a blocked blood vessel ! It`s the wrong PH-Value of the blood inside . In combination with AS this leads (parts of the vessels damadgd alls contribute to it) to a clot and a constriction ! When your blood have a PH Value that low, your red blood cells can`t reshape and flo into the capillars and the micro ones .... then it`s a bad cascade, because the situation gets worse by the second. Aspirin....if you get in trouble (internel bleedings because of damadged arterial walls ) will increase your problems/bleedings ect. . Micro dosing long term CAN help you with some issues.... a healthy diet is much better . If your REALY need to help yourself in such a situation, use "Natron" and water. If`s your lucky, take "Quabain" ! This can stop a stroke or heart attack in it`s tracks ! Stay in a sitting position ! Don`t lay don, or you might die . Good luck too all ! Ps.: Mr. Mandell , in this case, you need to dig deeper . Most of the time, you`re doing great ! Thanks for your good work !
