Plot twist: Maybe Nikki never wrote anything catchy at all...? It pains me to think it, since Crue was such a pivotal and favorite band of mine many years ago. But so many interviews lately suggest that Nikki not only didn't write nearly as much as he's credited for, but that he also didn't even perform on the albums as much either. There was an interview with someone who was in the studio for Theatre of Pain saying that it wasn't Nikki playing bass on the album... (which given how much he was f'd up on drugs, it could have been the producers needing SOMEONE to lay down bass tracks and Nikki wasn't sober enough to do it)

This makes it so painfully obvious who was responsible for the Crüe sound. None of the new stuff does anything for me, and that’s saying a lot since I genuinely enjoy ‘Generation Swine’. That album is maligned, but it still has that Crüe attitude. I agree that “Bitter Pill” and “Enslaved” were the last time they truly felt like Mötley Crüe, but other than that record you showed and ‘Red, White, & Crüe’, they’ve never been seen again. As far as a new album goes, Vince recently said “albums are dead” and said nobody makes them anymore. It was an incredibly stupid comment given the fact that MANY of their ‘80s peers are still releasing great albums. That said, I’m as ridiculous as you, so I almost want it just because it’s in a jewel case😂

So many of Crue’s peers, and other legacy bands, have been releasing killer albums. George Lynch, LA Guns, Stephen Pearcy, Slash, Black Country Communion, Dead Daisies, Richie Kotzen, etc., among many others including Priest, Saxon, Accept, and Bruce Dickinson, are killing it. Yet Crue can only release this pabulum with the appalling cover of Beastie Boys? These guys were fantastic once upon a time. No longer.
@BrendonSnyderАй бұрын
I agree that it is really a let down that they can’t be bothered in 16 years to make a full length album. And they need to stop with the cover songs. I thought the Madonna cover of Like A Virgin was a bad idea but Fight For Your Right by the Beastie Boys is worse. I have rarely liked the cover songs they choose. The cover of Jailhouse Rock on Girls Girls Girls has got to be the worst. Why put a live track of an Elvis song to finish off such a hard hitting album? Makes no sense to me.
@jakepepper2279Ай бұрын
@@BrendonSnyder They covered The Beatles "Helter Skelter, so they covered a live version of Elvis's Jailhouse Rock, on an album also named after an old Elvis movie, "Girls, Girls, Girls." If you were paying attention, Elvis's character in the movie, Jailhouse Rock was named Vince. To me, The Crue covering Madonna's "Like A Virgin" made zero sense. Besides that, "Smoking In The Boys Room" was a cover of the glam band, Brownsville Station. I think it had something to do with Quiet Riot's smash remake of Slade's "Cum On Feel The Noise." Motley's new garbage is recorded on a computer, yet you let yourself be ripped off by those washed up posers. They should have retired years ago, but "The Dirt" biopic means more horrible lip syncing and cheap auto tune AI recordings. Metallica's last album, "72 Seasons" was garbage as well. I found it cheap in the cut out bins. Listened to it once.

Don't forget the latest Dokken album, which is fantastic as well. No one expects Motley to put out an album on the level of Shout or Feelgood anymore, but it's like they're not even trying. They can barely muster enough songs for an EP and have to resort to a terrible cover song to fill it out. I miss the band who TRIED. Even after the '80s, the band still sounded alive and powerful on MC94 with Corabi. They at least TRIED to be creative with Swine, even if it wasn't to most fan's taste (I like the album myself). But it's like they've been on autopilot since the reunion in 2005, phoning in new songs when they feel like they have to.

Singing about being "CANCELED" in 2024 is like something a Fox News boomer would think is edgy. Maybe it would have worked in 2019, but Motley has already dated themselves with this use of the word. It's sad really. I was a HUGE Motley fan in the '90s as a teen. Saw them in the late '90s at PNC in NJ with Randy on drums, then again with Samantha Maloney. Finally saw them with Tommy in 2005 when they reunited for the first time since 1998. All that said, I just can't get into this new Motley era. I was there for the stuff the old fans didn't like (loved MC94, Swine, New Tattoo). But something has just felt too corporate and calculated with the band ever since then. Even your comment about Nikki/Tommy forever flipping off the camera in photos feels so silly now that they're older. The random singles and confusing covers (did we really need to hear Vince sing "Like A Virgin"??) has muddled the legacy of Motley a bit. Covering "Fight For Your Right" is just another really cringe choice. I actually like the Beastie Boys and have nothing against rap in theory, but it's just not a song we need to hear an aging Motley Crue try to pass off as their own. At least "Street Fighting Man" in 2005 made sense and sounded decent.

They still sell out stadium tours so why would they stop?

Don’t pay attention if you don’t like the band. Why did you even watch this video if you’ve never liked the band? Sounds like you just wasted your time. 🤷♂️🤦♂️

World change, music too, bands too great new songs by Crüe
@jakepepper2279Ай бұрын
All these years without new music, and all Motley Crue can release is a three song CD. It is definitely a waste of plastic. They are lazy and rich. As for their legacy, last decent album was the under rated, "Girls, Girls, Girls." What those guys did to Mick Mars was shameful. The new EP is named correctly though. No thanks. I will pass buying this.

If the Crue didn’t do anything in the 80’s to get “cancelled” nothing will get them cancelled now.
@jakepepper2279Ай бұрын
@@BrendonSnyder Mick Mars founded the band. And if you are happy with their new material, then you are just a hopeless fan boy. The band were decent in the eighties, then Tommy Lee became a tabloid celebrity. The same thing that happened to Snoop Dogg, The title of the new EP is "cancelled" with a middle finger on the actual CD. It is what they think of their fans. I don't buy garbage to support has been bands that should have broken up years ago.
@BrendonSnyderАй бұрын
That’s not accurate…Mick was the last to join. He did not found the band. That was Nikki and Tommy. They had a different singer and guitarist before Vince and Mick joined. As far as me liking the new Crue…I gave my opinion in this episode and yes I’m a fan of the band. Absolutely. And I’m a boy…guess that makes me a fan boy. 👍

@@BrendonSnyder Mick Mars named them, Motley Crue, so I assumed he founded the band. It was still pretty rotten of the rest of the band to dump him like an old sweater. I am still a fan of the eighties Crue. They were never considered a great band even back in the day, but at least they had a large following. They suddenly became known for Vince Neil's drama and Tommy Lee's sex life. They've haven't put out anything worth listening to for multiple decades. I still buy CD's as well but I am not loyal to every old band out there. The great thing about the internet is you can listen to the music before you decide to buy. Today, Motley Crue are horrible. Of course, that is my opinion. I am not addicted to having to own every rock or metal CD on the planet.

Band should have stop making music after New Tattoo, should have stop touring after Carnival Reunion . From SOLA to this newer POS , it’s over . I’d rather see Corabi do an acoustic set in a bar …
@BrendonSnyderАй бұрын
Why should they stop just because you don’t like the band anymore? That makes no sense. And Corabi in a bar is great, I’ve seen the show and he kicked ass.

@@BrendonSnyder Me too on the Corabi in a bar, Austin Texas . Dude was stellar and great with the fans after . He played the song 10000 Miles Away , and after the show explained to us where it came from, the 94 Sessions . I just think Motley wrote songs that became anthems , now they try and make anthems as songs , and it comes out generic . I saw the change and move when they did the Crue Fest stuff , in conjunction with Sixx AM making noise . I want On With The Show and Red Hot , not Sixx AM . I did kind of enjoy Brides of Destruction though . Tommy had that horrible run on his own , it just shifted something that was perfect to me since I was 5 years old . No harm , no foul .. dig the channel !!
