I have a restricted penny stock. I’ve been trying to sell it but no brokerage will sell it yet I see it going up and down every day. Because theres a complex hi speed algorithm that wants you to immediately regret or fear your choice and began thinking of selling, hope fully at a loss. The way around that is quit using market orders, determine a low entry, then set a limit buy below that and wait for a freak dip to drop the price for a few seconds and trigger it. Now you're in below support and will see less red.

Ya the limit buy/sell is the bid/ask. Like you set a limit buy for $2, that means you are bidding to buy for $2.

Here's my question that I can't wrap my head around I understand large rises and then a drop when sellers want to take their profits out. What I don't understand is the smaller fluctuations happen say it is .91 after a fall. And then it goes to .920 in a minute just to fall to .90 the next. It almost seems like the stock prices are manipulated intentionally, to cause people to sell low, and the manipulators buy low, only to sell high later.. we all know that there are inside traders that have inside information on when to dump their stock when it is at a very high price. Then within a day or two, the price of that stock plummets.. and we all know that people get inside information about companies that are going to soon be awarded large contracts, and insider groups get the word and buy up large amounts of those companies stock when the price is low, and then These companies make announcements within a few days that they have been awarded a large contract, and the stock price goes up… I don’t think you can beat them at their well honed insider game.. there were large groups of people driving up crypto prices in 2021 and 22 to artificially inflate the value of certain crypto‘s, and then they would sell in a coordinated effort while the price was very high.. Almost seems unfair

Gahh! Nothing is answering my question on the big picture of it all! The only reason person A wants to buy a share is to sell it for more to person B who wants to sell it for more to person C... but why does anyone want the share in the first place? What does it matter if a company is doing well or not? The share you own isn't a portal for the companies profits to spill out for you. You don't become more of an owner in the company based on how expensive the share is. Person A only makes money because person B just happens to want it more. We are all fighting over something that only has value because we just happen to say so. It's just so weird. I don't get why we've all agreed to buy these stocks from each other when they have no inherent worth. We've just arbitrarily decided we want to buy it to sell it for more because for some arbitrarily reason someone else wants to buy it for more because they'll sell it to someone else who arbitrarily wants to buy it for more is the same reason.. over and over again. We can also prophecy

Its all about expectations, lets say person A has a stock for 100$ then person B thinks that this stock is actually worth more so he buys it for 120$. But then person C thinks that this stock has more potentiall than that. So he buys it again for 150. You make money from stocks when you know the people whould want it for an even higher price. When you know the expectations of the people, then you know where to make money. Its not about the company itself. But rather what expectations the people have for said company. First impression- you may have some need for deeper understanding of yourself and the purpose of life that's manifesting itself though the market, which holds a remarkable reflection of us and lifes various cycles. So by studying the market, you're really studying yourself, hence the frustration at what's seemingly a never ending dog and pony show ponzi scheme... Did I just say something? Nah, I ramble for the sake of the shake. It's just a game. People take it seriously because it pays for food and gives value to shares that companys own and can sell to cover their costs during bad seasons or use to grow and expand operations and production. The game is can you find a share for sale in the market that is selling for a lower price now than you think it will sell for in the future. All the extra is just noise and part of the game. Stocks never sit at one price forever, it can be going up and someone that bought way early and is profiting might sell and the sale drops the price temporarily so you buy in. Or a company that's doing good suddenly can't produce because of a law or something, so there's a mass selloff, but you think a side branch of the company is promising so you buy the discount shares and wait til they go up. It's a big circle jerk where you are really just playing with yourself.

Nice Fluid Video, but you missed out the important bit, the bit about the Computer Algorithms that have been set up by by the Stock Markets by a Hoard of Expensive Software Engineers and Architects to create "randomisation", it's the bit of software designed to never truly reveal if Red 13 will show up next, without this Software Algorithm a Stock would be just left to market manipulation; As simply rushing out at first opening to buy say a 10,000 "Separate Bids" of A Particular Stock would see an immediate and massive spike upwards, which could then easily be continued by supplying the market with even more multiple bidding throughout the day, then simply closing out your position at the end of day, profits all around, However the Software is aware of all of this and much more and is designed to throw the price into different directions, the only time that the Computers Algorithms seems to stall is when as you put it in your Video, market demand is just so great as to be just to much to bear and a constantly overbought stock simply has to go Up in Price, until selling pushes the price down. I'm a fan of value investing since it's in my nature to have more faith in an investment that I can analyze the fundamentals of. That said, is it fair to say that it is only public sentiment that truly moves a stock? If we have a fundamentally rock solid company, but it's a sleepy stock without a ton of interest, can this stock go up on its fundamentals alone? I assume that owning a fundamentally sound company below its intrinsic value will offer significant downside protection since the existing investors can feel comfortable that the company isn't going out of business if its been growing its revenue, has a good P/E, and strong cash flow with very little debt along with a strong moat, but do these fundamentals of a company in and of themselves drive the price up? Would the stock of a good company at a good price still go nowhere if investors really don't know or care and would rather "invest" in the next "OMG to the moon!" stock?

The answer is simple. The price, shown in the price table in the stock market simply represents the last transaction made between a buyer and a seller. Someone wanted to sell his stock (even at a lower price), and a buyer was found who eventually bought this stock. Now, because the price was sold cheaper, the price on the price table will go red, it will come down, and it will be the price that will be shown in the stock market since it was the last share transaction that took place. Okay, but can someone please explain to me why people have an interest in any stock in the first place? What are they getting out of it? I can sort of understand having interest in a company that pays dividends but why have interest in a company that is doing well if there is nothing in it for the stock investor other than hoping other people will have interest and that will make the price per share go up? Do you understand what I am saying? What is people’s interest based upon? What are they hoping to get? I understand there is a limited number of shares for sale and the price is determined by the level of people’s interest in owning shares; i.e., supply and demand; but what does a person get out of owing shares? Let me put it another way. Imagine there is a great widget that everyone wants because it can make you invisible but there are only 50 of these in the world. I can see why a person would want this and pay a lot of money for it. It has a real benefit to you - you can be invisible. That would be very useful in many ways. It’s fun, you could spy on people, etc. Therefore you’d be willing to pay a lot of money for it because it will be providing something to you that you desire. But what does having an interest in a stock provide to you that’s desirable? I could understand having an interest in owning stock in a company if, for example, every time the company made X dollars it was obligated to pay out X dollars per share to the share holder. But that is not the case in stocks that do not pay dividends. So why do people have any interest in them? I hope I am explaining my question well enough for someone to help me answer it. Thank you.

Well technically owning a stock is owning a company based on the percentage of the float you own. Plus a dividend doesn’t always mean the stock goes up it’s just a kickback for you not to dump it.

I should make a 10 x... on my puts and will sell 50% today and 50% tomorrow... what buckets, bins, groups, do you put data in...??? For example a Pareto chart.. ie 80% of news drive price 1 day 15% drive price for 2-3 days and 5% change the price for an extended period of time ...2 weeks or more?

Anyone else just want to find the math of how the stock market "knows" how much to increase/decrease the value automatically? I know its probably a bunch of math but I wanna know so I can see that it makes sense and that its not being changed manually or something.

I would think that the Motley Fool watch when large amounts of stock are going to be released and notify their fellow fool's?

In a lot of our IPO coverage we discuss the lock up periods, but generally they're about 6 months out from. You can also find it by looking at the prospectus filed with the SEC!
