Can’t wait for the next step video on balancing the throttle bodies

Good info. Thanks. I just bought a 2013 Guzzi V7. I was confused as to what in the world is this strange canister at the bottom. Mine is barely hanging on because of the aging hoses and it doesn’t have the plastic housing part that you have. Just so I’m clear, you’re saying I don’t even need this canister and I can remove it? Thanks!

Yes the canister can depart:)

You know what is great about having a charcoal canister on your bike… your garage doesn’t smell of fuel as much. Synch the carbs, yes. Flash the bike, yes. Remove the canister…. Don’t think I would have. I don’t see how it would hurt performance in any way. I think that is just the internet opinions that are just anti regulation features. All the evap canister can do is introduce fuel fumes into your intake and richen the a/f mixture which the O2 sensors would compensate for anyways.

Mine's been off for a month now, and I have no wiff of petrol/gas at all. I have heard some complain, but they may be experiencing a kinked breather hose?

Thank heavens EU-spec Guzzis don't have any of that evap crap to worry about. Still an interesting video though, BMR! Just waiting to compare notes with you on the remap now. 😉

I also have been wondering this

Thanks for the video. My 2017 had a pressurized tank, the dealer couldn't fix it. I removed the tip-over valve and the issue has been solved. Unfortunately the paint on the tank has cracked. Haven't removed the canister yet.

Yes, I've heard about the tip over valve issues, people getting fumes in the garage as the tank ends up cracking or sending fumes past the fuel cap gasket. Wonder if there is a way for you to restore the tank?

Just a thought, if you left the banjo bolts and hoses connected to each inlet, would this not balance out the intake vacuum on its own, removing the need to use a manometer and inlet balancing?? Just a thought I think I am going to try on my Stelvio as I have also removed the cap canister. let me know what you think
@BlueMarbleRider Жыл бұрын
It's a thought, although, the many who have done this before me seem to indicate that balance by manometer is the best. I wonder if the different stroke/pulse of the individual cylinders would interfere with the vacuum of the other inlet if the hoses were connected to each inlet?

There is always the question of how far one should go when tinkering like this. Before doing the reflash do you let the bike breathe better by going to an after market air filter and exhaust can? Or even be so bold as to eliminate the catalytic (for race track only ...wink wink nod nod). Looking forward to hearing the Griso roar!

Beetle maps are available for the standard exhaust or specific aftermarket cans. I have a Termignoni can on my 1200 SE and a specific map for this combo. How cool is that?

@@mrsilbo6499 Hey, just have the same combo, 2015 SE with Termignoni. What sourcery do I need to do to have it updated with the ideal mapping? Please pm me.

Many of the experienced guys do not recommend riders replace the stock air filter with an aftermarket as they are prone to allowing detritus in the throttle bodies leading to premature wear and failure (a $2000 CDN replacement cost)...ouch.
@lylemacdonald6672 Жыл бұрын
@@BlueMarbleRider Maybe not available for the Griso but a K&N with an oiled foam pre-filter will be more effective at allowing air in and keeping crud out of system which is why that set up is used in dusty desert situations.

true that is a thought but my hoses connect to Bothe sides already then to the cap canister. I vee removed cap canister but only plugged the hose where it T s off to the canister. I may have to try blocking each line independently?
@BlueMarbleRider Жыл бұрын
Yes, you have done it correctly. You can join both manifolds/tbs together with the hoses and plug the hose where it T s off to the evap canister.
