As someone who was once referred to as ' a very sedate rider' by another club member, I really appreciate videos like this. I always remember riding my Shadow 1100 back from a rally in Yorkshire and being totally at peace, going through the Peaks. Other riders were frantically tearing past me, and I had no desire to compete. I had everything I ever needed in that moment.

Excess speed is over-rated, now I've matured and gotten older I'd much rather ride at a safe speed and enjoy my surroundings and still fly without leaving the ground!

Bumbling along at 30 to 35 mph on my GoldStar and your Guzzi in magnificent countryside is my idea of heaven. I was born in Wigan and like most pie-eaters i know a good pie when i see one and that one you were scoffing certainly looked the business.

So glad I found your channel! I’m in the USA and may never make it England but your videos give me the chance to see some of its incredible beauty. The focus on just riding and hearing our wonderful V7 motors (I own a 23 Stone) is so soothing. And much like our bikes those old stone towns seem so full of charm and character. Thank you!

You just know don't you... When l first viewed the Moto Guzzi 850 LeMans through a local Bike dealers showroom window in 1977/8 l knew l must own it, next day when the shop re-opened l did own it....l wasn't camped outside, but l did practically fall through the door on opening... The only other Guzzi locally was a Californian. Amazingly, belonging to the village Doctors son. Moto Guzzi's were very thin on the ground back then...So l guess we both felt exclusive owning these wonderful bikes....Forty seven years later the Guzzi LeMans is no longer an option ...l was 31 in 1977...Hearing your's 'Purring' through the countryside reminds me of riding down to the South Coast. Not a motorway in sight...just country roads and that lazy engine beat...It was Bliss Dave...Greetings from España...

Proof, one doesn't need to ride like a lunatic to have a thoroughly enjoyable time! That's a great little ride and at the reservoir where you stopped is a stunning place to stop have a sandwich(or a pie) a cup of coffee and just take in the stunning views. Was up there just a couple of weeks ago in the car with the camera and binoculars watching the red kites and having a picnic. Hope you're still enjoying the bike, she's a stunning bit of kit, cheers.

After seeing one of your other videos where you went to Scar House a few weeks ago i did the same although i came over the tops then up to the reservoir. Got there and thought i had gone deaf, so quiet and peaceful with a little chaffinch trying to steal my lunch. That road up and down to the reservoir is spectacular. Love the videos especially ones like this as it gives me ideas of where to go as i only in Co Durham so its nothing to pop into Yorkshire. This is what biking is all about.

Dave yet another example of a wonderful road to just have a leisurely ride! Your bike is a cracker! I do have one issue I’d prefer the twin classic clocks as on other models in their range. I love the MOTO Guzzi brand but am very disappointed that the parent company appear to demand such a commitment to have their Pagio brand this has made smaller dealers give up their dealership. I’m in Northern Ireland and prices of MOTO Guzzi have dropped due to no dealers! Keep up your rides in wonderful countryside. Regards John

What an absolutely gorgeous mind clearing ride on a beautiful piece of machinery. Love the videos. I fully understand why you moved to the Moto Guzzi. I had to make a similar decision when choosing between a Royal Enfield product and my 2022 Standard W800 Kawasaki. No regrets so far but if I decide to make a change the V7 will be on my radar. Such a timeless bike. Cheers Bob in Canada

Great video beautiful ride out I’m very jealous 😂😂towards the end where you kept stopping to show us the beautiful houses in a village I think you’d call it is exactly where I’d love to live I think it would be the perfect place to live and straight out in the countryside no traffic to negotiate at all but as before winter could be a struggle if your old and getting about would be a problem and the beautiful oak tree with the bench under it heaven I’d call it bye for now take care 👍👋

Hi Dave, In the late 1960s as a teenager I used to look forward to reading the Sunday Express for one reason, the motoring column. I can't remember his name but the columnist was a journalist who had a deep understanding of his subject and could really write, much akin to the late lamented motorcycling journalist Dave Minton. One Sunday he produced a review of the Alfa Romeo Giulia, definitely a car to lust after, yet it was a simple 3 box shape. His explanation was that the Italians could just 'do' design unlike anyone else, the shape of the Giulia was really no different to a Mercedes or the current Ford Cortina but for some unexplainable reason it was so much better. Moto Guzzi are the same, you can't quite put your finger on it, but....... Regards Stephen.

I love the stone construction of the old housing. I was reminiscing watching the sheep, if you were riding on the Isle of Skye it would be highland cattle instead.)

Innovative use of camera angles and b&w, Dave. Presumably the village at 16.00 has some past personal significance for you? Back about a thousand years ago - well, 53 to be exact - a mate and I used to wander up to the Sports Club bar at Rover in Solihull and have lunch, being a pork pie and a couple of pints. As a daily respite from the demands of the factory, it was a very welcome break; I hope yours was as enjoyable.

I so envy you the winding narrow roads and idyllic countryside that you have in England. Small retro sports, and even 350s make perfect sense there. Here in Ontario, Canada the roads are almost all wide and straight. Also patrolled by aggressive, motorcycle hating thugs in huge black pick-up trucks. There is some rustic, rocky hill country that can be explored. But it requires 2 hours of highway cruising to get there, and another 2 hours to endure on the way back. As an aside; in Quebec, across the Ottawa river from where I live in Ottawa, is a small town called Masham. I imagine that in England it's pronounced something like MASH'em. But here it's with a French sound. More like Mah-SHAHM.

Hi it’s pronounced “Massam” here. Canada is beautiful and the scale is epic 👍🏻

Nice Pie Dave (and scenery of course) but I'm not sure it beat my homemade Devon cheese and onion pasty which was my fuel of choice a few days back; I did a 4 night moto/camp trip staying on Exmoor: including a day trip riding over to Dartmoor.Safe riding .Richard

Interesting watching you ride your M-G through your area noticing how similar it is to riding through my birth state of Vermont. I was there for two months already this year riding my M-G V7 on similar roads very far from you. Vermont has lines in the road, however 😉!
@johnlenart5973 ай бұрын
Wish there were similar types roads in the U.S. We do have converted blacktopped railways for walkers and bicycles which could also be used for "slow" riding motos, perfect for the Classic 350 and such others. The younger hooligans would spoil it by racing on them. "NO MOTORCYCLES ALLOWED" posted.!! Sure looks like calming roads with respectful people on them. I'm not saying all the hooligans live in states, just wish there were similar riding areas here.

Hi Dave, yes the Moto Guzzi is certainly a thing of beauty…..At 66 years of age, I currently own a 1250 Triple Black GS…. Yes , it is a great Allrounder and comfortable to ride, but a bit overkill for my weekend jaunts in the countryside. I absolutely love this Guzzi and really thinking of selling my GS. For how long is Piaggio going to drag this - out of the donkeys' ass idea - no fuel gauge = a good retro ??!! 🥵🥵 Yes - I get the worlds' clunkiest gear shifting. I get the shaking of the engine on idle.... And yes - the looks is really great, but some solutions make this bike not desirable. All the "clever" advices - to COUNT the miles.... Please - not for me ( to be extremely polite ! ) Suspension is near of the worst out there.... WHY so ???!! This bike is NOT cheap ! ONE ( 1 ) brake disc in front !? - WHY ???!!! Before I tried this bike, I hoped it is, as good, as it looks, but - NOT so fast.....🤢🤢
