I come from the future. Motorola has kept support for Moto Mods, and as of 2019, the Moto Z4 is compatible with old ones. And no, the G5 nor the following Moto G's have support for the mods. And Juan has his own channel too.

Yeah what was it with the LG camera mod? Early renders of it showed an additional image sensor with huge lens. Now it's just a few buttons and a tiny bit more battery. And here moto comes along with even a developer kit so third parties can make accessories. I pray for a hardware keyboard.

The problem is Moto Mods only works on Moto Z series only. It will be great if Moto Mods works on other phones like the JBL speakers with bluetooth. A Power pack which also can charge other phones and a projector which using USB C to USB C cable.

Yeah the updates are really important to me cuz I've only had Nexus phones. But both HTC and Motorola are great with updates. But I want the HTC for the design/build and the amazing audio. wouldn't consider this modular as none on the mods are vital to the operation of the phone. when you can swap out internal batteries, internal cameras, internal display, internal cpu, internal memory, etc. thats when it is truly modular.

I have the the Moto z play (unlocked). Everybody is raving about how awesome the JBL Moto mod is. It was on sale for $59.99 on Verizon website last week. It is must have along with the Incipio battery Moto mod. The Moto z play is the battery king with +10 hours screen time over 2 days without the battery mod but you could never have too much battery life. So convenient to just pop a battery Moto mod on. Just wait for a sale though.

I would like to see a slide out game controller mod that works like the old Xperia Play. And could they at least release a mod with a built in headphone jack?? Its a good idea but the prices are wayyyy off, why pay $300 for a projector when you can buy a proper 1 for that price. its not like you would carry that projector mod around with you, you'd only take it if you know you're gonna need it, therefore, why not just get a real projector. The speaker mod is pointless, you'd b better off carrying an audio cable cos who doesn't have some sort of speaker setup in their house, unless you wanna be 1 of those dicks that plays their music in public of course. $60-$100 for a battery mod???? you can get a power bank for $10. and last but not least, £300 for a camera mod, you can get an SLR for that price!!! and i can guarantee an SLR will take better pictures than any phone, with or without mods. The whole mod idea will only work if the mods are compatible with all phones anyway and the only way to do that is via USB or bluetooth cos who's gonna keep the same phone for years, just to use the mods

We vote with our dollars which way we want tech to go, moto is going in the right direction. Hope they come up with virtual reality glasses too. Maybe they have. The projector impressed me after working for Sony Computers in the 1990’s where they had the best camera and projector on the market but were left in the dust. Same goes for the Datalink Watch that used to hold your contacts and was so afordable, only to be linked up to satalites where I could read John John was missing which ruined my day and killed the watches simple model that is not just anouther sports watch.
