My favorite thing about my old CB500X was the engine and gas mileage. It was a beast on a tour. I was thinking of gettin a new CB500X but this NX500 is a no-brainer. This after having gone from CB500X to Africa Twin; I'm going back. An outstanding commuter bike, that you can take out for a weekend road (even dirt road) adventure. It appears to be more of a baby TransAlp then a baby Africa Twin. I love the accessory package and would still add a bash-plate and side cases.

That´s so interesting for me. I would like to know, why do you mean it? First I thougt the Honda managers/designers went crazy, but it’s not obviously true. There are many people who like this new look. From my point of view, the new head lights, it’s like for kids, good for those plastic small bikes. Actually, it’s the reason for not buying this bike. CB500X looked much better and Transalp looks much much better too, of course. I dont understand NX500. Maybe new generation or more focused on Chinese consumers, I dont know. Compare it with design of Italian bikes or Triumph. NX500 is terribke. Just my opinion.

Greetings from India! It's a welcome update to a proven bike for its target market, so may sound like an ad indeed, but overall a nice summary. My two cents about the updated switchgear - the joystick like backlit switchgear pairs well with Honda Roadsync app, and simply transforms your connectivity experience while riding. I have been using this combination on their CB350 series launched in India, for the past 3 years, and I don't want to go back to a motorbike that doesn't have it! Not having to lift your arm to reach intercom mounted on your helmet, when cruising at 100km/hr or more, is a big relief. The app is thoughtfully designed, controlled using the joystick or even voice and allows to pick or dial call, dictate or send preset texts, switch on/off music, start navigation by picking from set favourite destinations etc. Really helpful when touring long distances.

Honda just needs to put the Transalp engine in this style of bike with cast rims and tubeless tyres, throw in cruise control and the thing will outsell everything on the market. The big 'adventure' bikes are just too heavy and thirsty. For real world motorcyclists what we need is a mid sized do it all bike, Suzuki have it now with the Vstrom 800re,haven't tried one yet but I'm hoping Honda step up before I make the change from my DL650. this is an open goal for Honda, they have to produce an NX750 now.

Though, who compare CFMOTO with Honda, i guess that those folks have never seen any of them or they had never had a honda product in their ownership. If you don't know, I cana tell you right now. It is expensive, it is ugly, it uses mostly OEM parts but each time you uses it, it gives you a deep feeling of satisfaction, almost a smile on your face and that you weren't ripped off by a marketing scam, and you wouldn't mind to pay even more for what you got. As a CB500x owner all I'll say is why the change? This new model is just ugly and the old bike didnt really have any flaws, other than he lack of cruise control. Clearly Honda wont provide one here given that even the Transalp doesn't even get one. The LCD screen was absolutely fine, certainly not a week point, and perfectly in keeping with the low end/,simple adventure asphetics. .Ironically the one thing it needs is an extra 10-20HP - yes the engine is willing and great fun but after a few years of ownership you begin to want a liitle more particularly when touring.
