We all have a different sort so I just wanted to take the time and explain why I am out riding green lanes rather than racing round the motocross tracks. I have all ways had dirt bikes from Hondas Husqvarna's and finally onto a KTM 300 tpi, but things happen in life and sometimes there's nothing you can do. So from Someone that has had a hip replacement at the age of 21, forcing me to quit riding, please get out there and enjoy what you can.

Glad you are still hungry for life after your experience. At 53yrs old in 2020 i was knocked off my 600 enduro bike out on the road, fracturing my right pelvis in 3 places… ouch .After recovering from this and building my leg/strength up after 3 months resting,I got a new frame and rebuilt the bike back up again and is back in action… then one year later 2021 ended up back in hospital with emergency heart ❤️ operation with a torn aorta (open heart) . Then had a stroke due to blood clot getting loose during the surgery, this time down the left side 🫣another 3months of rest the recovery which is still ongoing but I get out as much as possible, greenlaning or just out and about enjoying life down here in Dorset . Keep up the strength training and any physio on your whole body …but keep enjoying what you do…👍 subbed….✅

I really do appreciate that mate, it's nice knowing that I have like minded people enjoying the content. I do also feel for you as going through what I went through probably gave me all the same feeling that you have felt. All we can do is look forward and enjoy whatever we have in front of us. I now have a little one your old boy so I'm sure he will be riding in no time (if he wants to), so I will get a lot of fun out of that. Keep on living my friend and thanks for the sub 👍😊😊

Great video, very inspiring, I too raced like you till age 16 at 19 I broke my back in 3 places & lost 1 kidney after going through a windscreen of a car I crashed. I recovered after they said I’d never walk again. It took a few yrs but 100% recovered. Had a few bikes since then 2019 had a mental breakdown🙄 that’s been harder than the car crash. 2023 got a enduro bike. Best thing I’ve done in yrs😊 I’m like you, green lanes out doors helps heal & focus & not too dangerous 👍

Hi mate, I'm greatful you shared this. I didn't realise when making the video that my story is so similar to others. Hope it helps knowing your not the only one 👍. The mental breaks can be worse than a physical break, but it sound like your smashing is now. So keep the riding up and really hope that my future video keep you motivated my friend 👌👌

Good to see that you still found a way to enjoy riding. I myself was preparing for my first road-book rally race and I had a few health concerns that had to be checked. So I went in for a contrast MRI. Luckily nothing worrying was found, but unfortunately I developed a fairly rare reaction to the MRI contrast agent - it's called Gadolinium Deposition Disease. It's basically an auto-immune-like condition where your body tries to attack the remaining residue of the gadolinium contrast that's stuck in the body. Since it's a toxic heavy metal, the immune system can't really do anything to it, but in the process it starts causing harm to your own tissue. For the first 3 months I practically couldn't exercise at all. I was in constant muscle and bone pain, had cardiovascular issues, brain fog, fatigue, etc. Wasn't really sure if I'll ever be back on a bike or have any kind on normal existence. 7 months have passed, I'm not fully recovered yet, but feeling much and this week was the first time I got back on a motorcycle. Bought myself and my son some trials bikes, so that we can go explore some technical mountain trails at a slower speeds :) I was considering getting an adventure bike or potentially getting back into hard enduro, but the issue with Gadolinium Deposition Disease is that it can prime your immune system to be "allergic" to other metals and that includes medical implants like bone plates, rods and screws. Doing high speed activities that increase the risk of catastrophic injuries (that require some metal hardware) is probably something that I should minimise.

Wow what a story and thanks for sharing. Firstly I hope you do get back riding properly soon, secondly I really hope these videos help you feel the feelings you did when you did ride. Life is hard mate and your clearly making it the best you can so keep going and please keep us updated with the progress 👌👌

Love the point you made about growing up with motocross and how it instills the mindset of always getting up and getting back at whatever you're doing despite the pain. so true and so impactful

I grew up around Cliffe Near rochester, the marshes there at weekends was like a bikers haven. anything from quads, trikes trials bike and motorcross. my first bike was a modified DT125R, some of my mates had bikes and every weekend we would be down there. we never had any trouble, everyone would speak to everyone/ it was a great atmosphere. the best bit was getting way from the police on there DR350's 🤣 ive not owned anything now for 15yrs and i do miss it. great video mate and insight into your life 👍

I'm in this position right now. 25 and docs are telling me I need a THR and that i should give up moto. I can still move pretty good but not for long. I can ride hard for 30 ish min before the pain starts. 2024 was going to be the year I learned MX (currently race Woods). Idek what to think at this point.

Am 38 your lucky they done it at your age a have been told am to young lol. A know a good few people that have had hip replacements ect all younger than me its a joke.

This is a little village called charing not far from Ashford mate. That sounds good though, I'm definitely up for some more action trax event in the new year. Where abouts are you riding when you go out on the lanes?
