I checked out a Kawi 250 on the showroom floor and I thought it should have an electric start too... however, the salesman said go ahead and start it. It started on the first kick. Fuel injection and computers have made four strokes much easier to start. I would guess there are pro's and cons to each. If you are not a pro racer, than probably any of those bikes would be good. Also, you can't go by how the Factory Teams do in SX and MX, because those are highly modified bikes, an insane amount of effort goes into championships, riders, etc. So I agree with everyone who said they would probably be happy with any of them... one can always modify a little to tweak. Cheers.

Its your shootout MXA and you can pick whoever you want but you lost what little credibility you have left this time by contradicting priorities you have had in the past and making contradictions within this shootout itself. The kx has the most horsepower in the class this year(mxa priority in past shootouts) yet you say the Suzuki Rmz has a better engine. ..The same bike you rate in last place... I don't really trust the mxa reviews or even enjoy the delivery or presentation anymore. No dyno charts, no rider opinions, no logic in how you came to where each bike placed. I will buy a new bike based on experiences I have had with a brand and dealer and the summation of other test riders opinions outside of the magazine, fake news consortiams.

Like maybe arrange a test with local (pro,int,vet) riders at a high elevation track in Colorado, a red clay track in Oregon a midwest loam track and a sand track in Florida. Average those results together and/or rank them separate. I'd love to see what the results of this would be.

I feel like these shootouts are almost pointless. Pretty much no one I know leaves their bike stock. I don't ride a Suzuki, but for example they got dead last and their issues could be fixed with a simple fork swap or revalve, maybe just a higher clamp offset to boost stability, and a high comp piston and a pipe...you get what I'm saying. The most important factor to me is reliability, What I'd like to see is a shootout for the used market, take all brands of bikes from 5+ years ago, and see what issues they had not mentioned here (like the 14-15 yz250f throwing rods at 50-60 hrs). 09 450r having awful flame out and decompression pins breaking, hell, even the 2019 crf450r and it's overheating issues. The 13-14 Kx450f and it's tip sensor issues. Etc etc
@jdc91285 жыл бұрын
The problem with a shootout of bikes 5 years + old is that nobody cares, if your holding on to a four-stroke for 5 years expect Probloms and if your buying a 5 year old four-stroke your a moron, 99% of riders buying a new four-stroke will sell the bike within a year or 2 for far less than they paid and let the financially poor deal with all the problems that arise, hence why I stick to my old 2 stroke that I can fix myself.

@@jdc9128 Quite the contrary, I believe one to be a fool if they spend $7k - $10,000 on a dirtbike and don't even race at the privateer level. Weekend warriors (the vast majority of the market) can get used bike for 2-3k that is solid shape and lasts for years if you know which to buy (hence me suggesting the older bike shootout for reliability). There are many 07/08 Crf450rs out there still bone stock today that you can still get on and rip. And if you have any skills a man should have, you can easily put a top end in it, some new valves in it for extremely cheap if you do it yourself and you're good to go for many more hours. But hey, keep the economy booming if you've got it like that. But if you make around 100k a year and spend 10 percent of your total pre-tax income on a dirtbike, your priorities are shit in my personal opinion.

I watched the whole shootout and although I'm a Yamaha guy I don't think a bike should come in 2nd because it is great for novice riders. It's like some bikes are penalized by being geared for racing versus ones that are easier to ride. Your shootout needs to be more consistent with what characteristics you give points for and characteristics you deduct points. You need to follow the same parameters for each bike. If you're scoring bikes for competition quality or NOT then do it across the board. Dirt Bike did the same thing with their 2018 2 stroke shootout where they ranked the TM125 last because it was a superior race bike that required a skilled rider to keep it on the pipe in order to use all of its strengths. The bike was superior and finished last.

Such a shame because the Suzuki looks like a sharp bike. What I don't understand is these companies have been making bikes for how many years now? And they leave such glaring flaws in them? Surely suspension should be perfected by now?

The ktm winning shouldn't come as such a surprise, it's the most expensive bike. Same old story.. you get what you pay for

Is 39 horsepower really that low ? How much did 250f's have 5 yrs ago ? Serious questions I don't know the answer

My 2010 is advertised as 39HP.

@@2DclanSnipingTeam So is it hidiously slow? It seemed to me that bikes were plenty fast in 2010
@2DclanSnipingTeam4 жыл бұрын
@@MX-CO , Not slow by any means.The fastest bike in this class has 10% more power. The average rider won't even use all the power. I'm 6' ,190lbs and it's fast enough for me.
@MX-CO4 жыл бұрын
@@2DclanSnipingTeam I was kinda being Sarcastic, I don't really think there is anything wrong with The RMZ 250 If anything the manufacturers are killing the sport by evolving the bikes past 96% of the people's ability and Raising the price to match the New tech it's Real dumb you would think some much smarter people than me would figure that out

Suzuki is like the great value brand products. It cheap and does the job, but you never feel satisfied with it.

Badass Skeptic meant to say 100% best bikes. How do they not “play” u really think KTM is paying to win shootouts??
@alexandrakingi85025 жыл бұрын
@Badass Skeptic Ktms perform well when they are going but aint no where near as reliable as the yamaha or honda. My mates have owned ktm but called them atm`s after awhile and went to yamaha.

Shit doesn't matter unless you're a top "a" rider or pro. At that point you have engine and suspension work done to your liking anyway. Pick a good shop with good racer support go from there. Sorry Jody.

I really dont care about the results all the new bike are pretty sick. But dont you watch your videos before you post them. Some things should have been caught in the editing.

Amazed Suzuki is still around. No factory team or really any bike updates means you have to be a diehard fan to buy one. Shame miss their dominating days with RC and dungy.
