Marc Fontan is very lucky that he didn’t get hit at the 2:45 mark. He should have gotten further off the course.

4:03 There is still snow behind the guardrail. I've been there in 1982. The tickets cost approximately 240 austrian shillings, which is around 18 Euros. Nowadays, it's ten times that much. I was at a MotoGP-Race in 2018 in Spielberg for the very last time. To be honest, I don't like current MotoGP commerce.

@@GeorgeSPAMTindle It depends. An average wage for a skilled worker in 1982 was about 1000 Euros. Nowadays, a skilled worker gets approximately 4.000 Euros. That's four times more. There might be persons who earn twenty or even fifty times more than fourty yeats ago but the average salary increase is around 3 % per year - if not less. In relation to the salary increase the increase of the ticket prices is tremendous

@@TurboPascal12 Zitat: "An average wage for a skilled worker in 1982 was about 1000 Euros. Nowadays, a skilled worker gets approximately 4.000 Euros." An average wage for a skilled worker in the paper industrie was 1982 about 1000 Euros. The wage for a skilles worker in the same industrie 2020 was about 2200 Euros. But this does not tell the story. 1 Swiss Franken was then 8 Schilling. In 2002 1 Euro was 13.76 Schilling. Today (2022) 1 Euro = 1 Swiss Franken. This means an rate of inflation for the Euro was since the invention of the Euro 75%. You could buy a lot for Schilling, you can buy muche less for Euros today. I was in Salzburg since 1978, when Kenny Roberts won his first 500 race until the last race bevore they proceedet to the Austrian Ring in Zeltweg. Every race but 1980, when there was 1 meter of snow. LOL

No one’s leg is hanging out!! I saw some contemporary motoGP the other day and watched everyone sticking their legs out. I’ve not ridden motorcycles for 30 years and not watched racing for a long time so I had to ask why the riders were hanging their legs out in the run up to the corners. I was informed that they were using this to find the quickest racing line but I have to say some of the old school elegance has gone out of racing just from what I saw briefly the other day. Great memories.

i am sorry, 250, but I must say toda y (2018), the races are as great as they can be.... I,ve been following the championship since 1979...and the best seasons ever where -1981 -1982 -and the last ones, since the arrival of Marquez. Marquez, Lorenzo, and some more, are as good as Freddie and Kenny were.

If It was not Dorna, It would have been some other company, but ThE professionalism of ThE Championship until 1994 was shameful. I can assure you that Carmelo tries his best to improve ThE Championship. Perhaps ThE guilty ones are ThE japanese factories: why dont we have 250cc anymore? Because Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki retired. Then, why do se have only 2 factories in M3? Ask Yamaha, Aprilia, Ducati, Suzuki...? Why dont want to take part?... ThE thing I like less IS ThE disgusting M2....a real shame compared to ThE golden years of 250....there should be open to more manufacturers...but ThE problem IS THEY dont want to enter! I have loved this sport since 1979, And i want to keep on enjoying until ThE day I die...I would say ThE top class IS in excellent health....at least 17 Riders are amazing....But I am really worried what Will happen when ThE normal engines are banned And electricity takes over.....
