as a person who was born and raised in Surath Thani. Samui always a special place for me. I have visited Samui with family as a kid then with friends on high school age and with my own family when I'm a parent. I can say I miss Samui so much. the famous snack of Koh Samui is Kalamae made from flours with coconut and sugar (I think it's adaptive from Caramel) you can find it all over Samui and at The Grand Father Rock . I would recommended to visit Mu Koh Ang Tong Nation Marine Park you can book a one day tour at Na Thon pier wtih High Sea tour.

the 'pine' tree is a casuarina tree. It usually means there is fresh water flowing in the sand down to the sea.

It looks like I travelled follow you guys lol I just came back from Phi Phi island and I will go to Samui next Thursday :) in December weather in Andaman side is very good, there was no rain and clear sky (I have been there on 6-8 Dec)

I'm Thai and been living in Bangkok my whole life (well, with some of living abroad exp.) but I only remember myself going to Samui when I was so young that I forgot everything except flying on a plane for the first time to Samui. Watching your video in my room after a long day of work, which I also have 1 month left with my current company and there'll be 2-weeks holiday before starting a new one. @@OnePackWanderers How long will you stay in Thailand tho? Recommend you to go to Ayutthaya which is an old capital of Thailand hundreds years ago. It takes around 1.30hr up north from Bangkok. Over there you can find many ruins of temple which will fascinate you!

@@OnePackWanderers If everything goes as planned (fingers crossed, knock on wood, toss some salt over the shoudler), I'll be there from Sept 1 - Sept 24. Landing in Seoul, then KTX to Jeonju 9/2- 9/4, then hopefuly an express bus to Busan 9/4-9/7 (I saw the ko rail buses offer a limited 3 hour route but in your video I think you mentioned it took you a full day of travel), from Busan fly to jeju island (jeju air had tickets less than the cost for the ferry) from 9/7 - 9/15 (which is a decent chunk of time but since I won't have a car and will be taking public buses, my travel around the island will be slower), then fly back to Seoul 9/15-9/24. Will do some day trips from seoul but I found hotel with private room and bathroom for $28/night so I booked it as a home base. I also wanted to see more of the eastern side of Korea, but like you stated, the limited travel options seem to require more time than I have. Will do some more detailed planning this weeknd. Is IG or email a better way to reach out for questions? 🙂

Any suggestions on what part of Koh samui to stay in for the 7 day sandbox period that’s laid back but acesssible to markets and restaurants and exploring the island?

We stayed in the Chaweng Beach area and we liked it a lot. Nice, affordable beach-front hotels and pretty close to a good selection of restaurants and the Samui Mall, which has a pretty cool food court! If you like things more laid back, I'd recommend sticking to the southern part of Chaweng Beach because the northern part has a couple 'party resorts' that are sometimes really loud. Have fun on Samui! It's such a cool island, honestly 😊
