Bar end mirrors are "THE BEST" . I had them on my FZ750N Yamaha , they were "FANTASTIC" . Get some ! !

Thanks man - the way that some people have mentioned with just tightening them all the way before putting them on didn't work for me either. The inside part just kept slipping inside the bar. What I found I did was a combination of both methods -- I pushed the nut all the way in to the "collet" and then hammered the nut down the "collet" a little more with a punch tool - I then put the assumbly together and tightened it all up as best I could and it was easier to knock it into the bar end with a rubber hammer and the "collet" caught on the inside on the bar and didn't slip when I then tightened it. In any case this video really helped me out so thanks!

I bought some of these cheap ones a couple years ago for a little cafe project and the actual glass came out of one of them while I was riding, luckily no cars were behind. I bought some ones from a Thruxton and they are tanks. They don't come lose and are easily adjustable.

your tutorial was really helpful :) funny thing is it actually took me like 6 hours to change one of them! cause i fucked up the screw and nut, so i had to fin a replacement which is impossible SO I bootlegged it and bought something similar and thank god it worked :D and the other one took me 5 mins -_- haha

Just installed the same set on my bike today. My method was slightly different. I used a set of pliers to hold the nut and spun the allen until it was the right fit. I'm guessing it's a little easier to find the sweet spot my way.

my super cheap bar ends had the same easy-install barrel. I spread the barrel's collar by tightening the bolt in my hand(before inserting in handlebars) until it was flush when trying to insert in the handlebars. Then after half-inserting the barrel in the handlebars I mounted the mirror and started tightening the bolt again making sure the mirror collar isn't moving. Not sure if the guy in the video just overlooked this and made his life harder by manually spreading it or the barrels are just different

I also bought them, well... Second set already. My first set the mirror came loose in the back. The screws that are BEHIND the mirror came loose which are impossible to get to without removing the mirror itself which I broke by trying that :) But yeah I guess you get what you pay for. And I bought them again! I mounted them in another way but I'll be trying it this way now. I also had to cut some ends of my handlegrip, just because my clip ons are really short.

Hi! After tighten up everything when I rotate the mirror on the opposite direction (opposite of the align nut tighten up) it loosens! Is it normal or is there any way to prevent it?

Hi Nossorama, I was looking at your vid to check out the installation since I just bought a pair for my bike and I was thinking why don't you just pre-assemble everything before inserting the spreader in this fashion: BOLT > SPREADER > MIRROR and then insert with all parts loose, using the allen as you screw shouldn't it insert the bolt tight into the spreader and spread the tongs nice and tight without having to calculate with the hammer the perfect size for the spreader's tongs to be opened?

I have a honda nighthawk. What would I need to do to get the bar end mirrors to go on mine?

I'm not familiar enough with them to know exactly. If it has metal bar-ends, they can be screwed off to get access to the bar itself. If your rubber grips cover the end of the bars, you would have to cut a hole in them to get to the bar itself.

something has to hold the assembly from turning inside the bar or else there is nothing to cause the cone shaped nut to tighten into the spreader, this is why he is making it fit so snug, the problem im having is that i do not have a groove inside my bar for the line on the spreader to sit in

this helped. i couldnt get the damn sleeves to grip to where the nut would pull in. finally did. mine had to be so tight i had to hammer in the sleeve. otherwise the thing just spun inside it.

is it preferred to install them where the mirror bends downwards vs the other way around? if that doesn't make sense i mean installing them opposite way of which you did

Actually, I realized that I had done it wrong in this and switched them out later on... so it is better to have the mirrors "bending upwards." If you install them the way that I did in the video but want to change them, you can do so by loosening the two bolts that hold the mirror in place enough that the mirror assembly itself slips out, and you can just swap the mirror from the other side of the bike. This way, you don't have to take out the main assembly that clamps inside the bar... if that makes sense.

Just tighten down all of the hex bolts as tight as you can. I haven't run into an issue with it.

Nikolaos Velalis I used the end of an allen wrench to pull it out... I know they can get kinda jammed in there.

Ths for the reply man. Have you considered any hand guards? I have put on several accesories on my gladius so far and looking for a nice set of handguards to add to it, but haven't been able to find any that actually fit the bike yet. Do u have any suggestions perhaps?

I don't. I actually have considered them just because I do ride in winter and would love some more protection than just my winter gloves, but I never actually looked into getting some so I don't know about any good ones.

I have the same kit but an 01 R6 and they do not fit. It has two spreaders but its too narrow with a single spreader and too thick with both spreaders. Anyone else having this problem?

+Johnny Lloyd Yep! Almost 4 years now. One of them had to get replaced from a wreck, but they're still great. They do have a few rub marks on them as the black finish is a bit thin, but other than that I still love them.

Why not just attach the mirror, slide it into the bar end and as you tighten, it pulls the nut into the spreader therefore tightening it to the inside of the bar end? Aside from attaching the mirror there's no need to mess with the nut or the spreaders before they go into the bar end.

Your video was too late for me. I couldn't figure out how it went together so I simply went to the hardware store, got a proper expansion gasket to fit the bolt and tossed that "spreader thing" into the trash.

This gave me a good laugh. . But the way to do this is much easier. Simply put it all together, tighten the bolt until the nut gets snug and wont spin, then slide it in the bar, tighten it. shazamm! youre done. Please really no need for applause.

I actually tried to do that method when I replaced a busted mirror, but the nut failed to successfully spread the prongs apart on it's own, so I had to revert back to this method. It may just not work as well with these particular mirrors, who knows.
