I teach riding here in the states and the novice riders often have issues shifting when they wear steel toe boots. The don't provide the same "feel" of the shifter so they struggle shifting and finding neutral. More experienced riders usually don't have that issue. Heel-toe shifters are perfect for the bigger steel toe boots. Smaller bikes often don't have enough space between the footrest and the shift lever for a large boot to work comfortably. Those mine boots look amazing.

Good to see I'm not the only one using workboots on bikes. What I like is their versatility. If you go by bike for a hike you've already got suitable boots that are grippy and comfortable when walking on trails. I had the Kmart velocity boots which were their most expensive (only sold them for a limited time). Really loved these, light, good grip and damn comfortable. No comparison to their others and my previous Mack workboots that were like bricks attached to my feet. Gonna look out for some steel blues as well. @All thise americans here. I tried on some Keen boots and really liked those. They're not as high but i think they'd be great on bikes too.

I ride in Redback workboots. I would avoid Steel caps as a feel thing - hard to feel the gear lever. Heel and toe cruisers don't matter so much. Those boots look like you're well pleased.

Interesting with the wear on Motodry boots.. got a pair probably about 4 years old and not even any signs of cracking/splitting.

im running sidi adv gortex boots $650. Good armour round the ankle water proof,,comfortable, most of the components are replaceable including soles, would i buy them again .......yep!

I believe in paying for something that will live and be totally usable at the same time. I purchased a pair of boots for road riding that are a cowboy boot look but round toe and plain black. That was in 1988 and they cost $89.00 usd. I still have them, have resoled them twice and use them for riding, walking just plain general purpose. They have been through snow, mud, rain and the heat of Arizona summers. I don't know the name but I think they were called American. Any how they were not cheap at the time and survived my bulldog chewing on the pull strap. Real leather is the way to go for hard overall use.

G'Day; How about promoting an Australian made product, ROSSI Boots, hand made in Adelaide SA, look up the web site; I have had a pair for 8 years, hardly worn out, I keep them looked after using Debbing compound. Much Cheaper than yours and they have a long boot and short summer boot. Please try them out, I strongly recommend them. Cheers....

second on the rossi boots , i have the rossi flying boots , wool lined long boots , zipper up the inside leg so easy on and off , though not full water proof because of the zipper , but warm as in the cold , dont have the cushioned soles like the olivers etc , but nothing a set of sports inner soles doesnt fix , bouthg them around 10 years ago for $280

Its a shame that Steel Blue dont sale this boots in America. Oh boy, we have pretty good boots too, i suppose. But not this.

Nice boots the Steel Blues I use the same brand but different style for work. However Mark, your boots appear to be steel capped. In a decent crash your big toenail will be ripped off due to there being no give in the steel cap, trust me I've done it! Better than runners/sneakers no doubt but definitely get boots without steel caps. Cheers Glenn. ☺

Sorry Mark, they are great work boots, but not bike boots. Out of interest, I checked price and saw $525, but that was one retailer only. For that amount, why not spend it on proper bike boots? Fit for purpose.
