The beautiful thing about adventure riding is that nobody else can tell you how to have an adventure. If you enjoy this gear and making use of it when you go out and explore the world, then it's perfect for you. Cheers from the USA PS: I enjoyed how well equipped you were. It let me reflect and gave me ideas for my own setup about things I may be missing or could do without.

Great kit list - now we need a video to show how you pack it. Joking aside, I am rethinking my kit after seeing this. I don't take nearly as much but a lot of my gear is much bigger ie. my cooking kit is a petrol stove. Food for thought - Thanks!

Always amazes me how critical folks can be. If a person doesn't agree with another person's load-out, they should just do it thier way. Even make a video about their way. But, there's no need to say other people are doing it "wrong."

@hammerhead2869
@hammerhead2869 6 жыл бұрын
Nice video... Lots of stuff definitely... Some would say dedinitely too much stuff but that depends on the bike, on yourself and the kind of trip you're going for. As for me, I can totally understand that you want to keep some comfort and practical aspects when you go for a trip. That being said I like the idea of the table made of a chopping board... Really nice ! One thing you might want to consider would be to switch your gas stove to a multi fuel stove. There are countries or areas where gas bottles are not always available while finding fuel is not a problem. Also a fire stick would be a nice addition to your camping kit. It makes it easy to start a fire camp and works in any conditions, even wet. For example if you're wet and need to get warmer that can be a more reliable solution than having to use matches or a lighter.

the stove is good redundency the can wheighs nothing and doesnt require gas fuel witch is super easy and great but only burns an hour or so. and pliers are super handy for survival. sounds counter intuitive but i see a refined and personalized loadout based on experience.

For a sleeping pad, check out Klymit (more compact and lighter weight). For tents, check out Marmot up Tungsten, Hype & Byke, or Big Agnes series of tents (light weight and more compact in size) For cookware, stainless steel is the better way to go. I got the essentials; pot, pan, cup for $5.97 at Wal-Mart. For water filtering check out CNOC water pouch and the Sawyer water filters. I'm into bike touring so our goal is compact and lightweight.

Thank you. I’ve got to say. With the dozens maybe 100 moto camping videos I’ve watched. With 100% of them showing minimal gear. You sir just say F-IT. And bring more $hit than anybody I’ve ever seen. generally a good vid ,thumbs up. i guess if theres too much stuff depends on how far to the boonies are you going(distance from civilization i mean) and if you often offroading to these places.i dont have an expensive offroad adv bike myself ,yet ,but as an road tourer i certainly can manage with less stuff than that.Btw ,if somebody would do a lot of offroading i might suggest also think about the collective weight of all the stuff people pack, for instance the big wrench seems totally overweight and overkill ,there are better options for tools out there.

Hi, I am planning a 16 day tour with my girlfriend on an R1200 GSA. BMW says that I can pack a max. of 25 kg in all three paniers. Unfortunately, I will have more gear. Question: can you exceed that limit and what should be a safe extra weight? What’s your experience with this? Thanks.
@WulfOnTheRun
@WulfOnTheRun 6 жыл бұрын
szlaeyer22 Hi. It depends on your panniers and boxes my old shad panniers were rated 10kg each and cheap top box was also 10kg I upgraded to givi outback aluminium boxes that take around 15kg and still they recommend 10kg in the top box even though its a 56ltr box My opinion would be if you carry a passenger at 75kg or a passenger at 55kg why cant you spread a bit more weight over the bike. A good practice is to try and bring weight forward, say tank bag or crash bar bags. Hope this helps 👍👍
@szlaeyer22
@szlaeyer22 6 жыл бұрын
Wulf On The Run the panniers are the stock BMW aluminum panniers, which are, in fact, supplied by Wunderlich :) passenger has approx. 60 kg and I do have a cheapo tank bag, but I’m not sure what I could fit in it, that’s heavier. However, I didn’t really try until now, so, thanks, that will be one area I’ll “work” on. I will also look into the crashbar bags. Thanks.

Bro, you got more gear on your bike than I have in my man cave. Thank you for sharing! I think some items are overkill tbh, like the kitchen sink, the tripod-chopping board (that's the kinda stuff I'd save real estate space and weight on) and for me personally the fishing gear (but if that's your hobby it's different I guess). But I have a question: why two different stoves? I'm planning my first motorbike camping trip at the moment and cooking is one of the things I am not sure how to handle efficiently...
@WulfOnTheRun
@WulfOnTheRun 5 жыл бұрын
Cheers buddy. I have cut down a fair bit since this video. Regarding stoves i now have an adaptor that fits different types of gas bottles rather than carrying 2 stoves. 👍👍

It is properly too much gear, but if it makes your journey better, then who cares, if you can have it on your motorcycle. :-) I have only some comments about your first aid kit. I would move it away from the side of the bike and onto your body, because, if you have an accident and the bike is landing on its side or worse, is going down a cliff, while you are laying bleeding on the road, your first aid is either trapped under the bike or 10 feet down the cliff. Always have a emergency whistle, a torch that can flash, a space blanket, some water and a first aid on your body.

Haha it looks hell of a lot but bear in mind there were different options to carry. Not all at the same time. It does fit easily into the panniers, top box and a bag on bag seat. I recently upgraded to givvi trekker boxes. Now no back seat bag. Cheers 👍👍

the reason you have about a 10 kg limit on your pannier per side and 5kg on your top box is because its all being held on your sub frame think you may just be a tad over but its not my bike so what the hell
