I was moderately impressed by the bag ,It is semi rigid and can be used as a back rest it appears to mount snugly on the seat and not too big to be portable. So $160 for a higher quality useful item may be O.K.

What Ryan didn't mention in the video is that Fortnine got me a free replacement Puig deflector, which served me well for several years. Also, when I eventually replaced that one with an identical model just recently, I noticed that the hinges have been improved with reinforcements screws, making them much stronger. And the overall quality of the plastics remains top-drawer. I recommend both Puig and Fortnine.

Actually, this is a little true but also false. This video is meant to be about luxurious accessories, not your normal ones. You can't use this to judge most accessories. Like that bag was unnecessarily fancy and pricey. A top case with rack will cost more, but be stronger, have a back rest, have as much storage as you choose to buy, and the rack can be used for other things. Just get a cheaper bag for the go that fits your needs. The gel cushion is over priced and the company is basically an expensive knock off of the much cheaper Airhawk, who are the standard in air pads. The grip accessory is only $12. Must expensive accessories are because the sales are low due to low USA ridership.

I wanted cruise control for many years when riding sport tourers, but then I bought a motorcycle with cruise control that didn't make me lean forward, while rotating my wrists back at an uncomfortable angle, and now I find that even though I have cruise control, I never use it. I tried Airhawk seat cushions, similar to the Wild Ass ones, from flat to full, and every pressure in between, and never found them comfortable, not everyone finds a soft cushion, or seat comfortable. Having tried almost every seat cushion out there, plus beads, and many aftermarket seats, I am by far the happiest with the Pro Pad SuprCruzr sheepskin cushion I have on now, happy enough that I won't be buying any more cushions, or looking for any more seats.

The cramp buster is TOTALLY worth the money. If y'all don't have one, get one. Just make sure it doesn't pinch the rubber at the end of your throttle grip against your bar ends otherwise your throttle will stick open. Once you have it set up correctly though it's perfect

I have been using one of these "full time" on my bike since the day I purchased the bike. Highway, City, back roads, it does not matter, because it does not get in the way of operation when it isn't being used. Super inexpensive way to assist with throttle wrist fatigue issues with a super easy installation.

Tried one out, it's nice, but the throttle locks have this thing beat. Yeah I know, dangerous and stuff. So is riding a motorcycle. I did an 800 mile day mostly on motorways and it was a godsend.

A couple things I've used on all my bikes is a throttle lock (no crap buster for me) which is so nice out on the open road. Just set your speed and lock it. You can still adjust the throttle if need be, so you can quit annoying those who follow you with their cruise control on. You'll maintain a steady speed instead of speeding up and slowing down as I've noticed while following bikes on the road. It's hard to maintain a steady speed unless you're constantly looking at the speedometer. Another mod is to cut down about 1" of the harder foam out of your seat and put a layer of memory foam in place of it. That will make long trips so much more comfortable on your butt.

For those with $20 to spend on a road trip cut an old life jacket and gorilla tape the closed cell foam onto your seat so it's wider and has a long groove for your tailbone (coast to coast to coast and it's still there making 1000 km days on a DR650 dual sport possible) oh and buy a bag of earplugs.

That would definitely be my way of doing things. Every time I look at motorcycle accessories the first thing that comes to mind after looking at the price is how I could build it myself. Windshield riser? Some clear acrylic cut to shape then heated up with a heat gun over some moderately curved surface and some 3d printed clamps. Seat? A bit of recycled foam with a cover over it. Highway pegs? Some plumbing parts and some tube clamps. The amount of money they charge for some plastic is just plain silly.

@@EllaBananas My Wife and I rode to the south of France from the UK..on a Honda 550 K3 to stop Saddle Numbness I folded a single Airbed on to the Bike's Seat and Bungeed in in place.......sat on the Bike with the Airbed Delated...then slowly added air ...until there was just enough to give support........no more saddle soreness .

Apart from the throttle assist, these were all soo expensive for what they may offer D: Best comfort advise I'd give would be proper suspension (tuned) and curvy roads that never stop amazing!

4:55 The Airhawk seat pad is good also. I purchased one from Canada's Motorcycle (Fort Nine's predecessor) for 220$. A tad expensive for what it is. However, it Works. Blow a bit of air (less is more... Do Not Overfill) into the bladders and you'll have hours of comfy riding.

Yup, just rode 12800 miles from Florida to Alaska and back on an FJ-09. Had the cramp buster and highway pegs but also grip puppies on heated grips and a simple throttle lock. A purpose designed (sport) touring windshield is a must in my humble opinion. All in all comfy enough to want to do it again!

Another great video Ryan, thanks! I started using Grip Puppies a few years ago and the really helped reducing vibration and aching in my hands. I use an Airhawk cushion for long stints in the saddle....a lot cheaper than the Wild ASS product, though the straps were rather thin and tore out after a couple years of use (had better ones sown on)

I rock an MRA Vario on my vfr800 vtec. Like your clip on puig blade. Went from buffeting hell at 70mph to smooth as butter. Oddly it doesn't work like you'd think - blocking airflow to you head, rather it forms a "laminar flow" of air into your helmet. So you no longer get neck strain fighting the buffeting and are instead just in a smoothed stream of air. Defo recommend, for those who watch this video mine is nowhere near as vertical as shown here in the video, more parallel to the windscreen, you want to disturb the air as little as possible, try it and you'll feel it. The air hitting your helmet will suddenly feel completely different at the right angle.

I got the cramp buster throttle control, and arthritis, it works great. I got the cheap Hwy pegs to stretch my legs out straight on long trips. $5 for grip-$20 HWY Pegs. Keep a spare battery and battery booster jump starter, and fix a flat can. Gets you to a safe place folks.

Forget the fix-a-flat. Get a plug kit. A lot of tyre places won't touch a tyre that's full of that canned goo. A well placed plug is good for the life of the tyre. Fix-a-flat just gets you home.

Fer my money, the best 3 ideas are the CrampBuster, highway pegs and a backrest. I just strap my topbag right up close behind me for a backrest, and the cost of the footpegs and CrampBuster were worth it a thousand times over. What a difference that makes on a long ride. Gonna try the Moto Skiveez padded motorcycle shorts this year. I'm told they're pretty comfy. Keep up the good work, Mr. F9.

Love how even the salesman seems to have sticker shock over the prices of this stuff. Motorcycling is one of those things that can be pretty much as cheap or expensive as you want it to be. I guess touring stuff is mostly focused on the wealthier retirees and mid-life-crisis folks, opposite of commuting stuff that is targeted at those too cheap to put gas in their car.

Instead of a gel pad, you can get a tube of any small size wheel and i inflate it and tie it with your seat with a rubber rope that is used inside a rim and it work DOPE !!!! Covered 3200km with this.

Gotta love f9, I bought a AirHawk two years ago on my first trip to norway, was about 7 hours of riding/day for 4 days ish, and one trip last year same ammount of riding, the AirHawk saved my trip! Loved it, I bought the one with only air in it, its like 1200SEK, thats probably $120 - its worth every penny for a longer ride! And oh, the extra screen - Baron von Grumble had one of those on his sport bike trip a couple of years ago and he PREACHED it!

Here's a very old trick for long distance coverage; forget the gel seats, air seats or whatever. Just get a sheepskin, throw it over your standard seat and climb on. You'd think that it would slide around, you'd lose grip or whatever, but it really works. I've ridden 600+ miles in a day using this trick, and done so on some very different machinery. Other things may cause you to stop earlier, but the sheepskin won't make you feel like you've earned an iron bum award..

I had a nice Yamaha 500 which I planned to take on a 750 mile round trip. The seat was quite firm and thought a handle bar windshield would be helpful. I rode over to the local Yamaha shop. I told the parts guy what I had in mind. i walked out with a seat pad similar to what you had. I also purchased the throttle pad and a after market fiberglass frame mounted fairing similar to the Vetter. With the bike stock, anything more than 2 hours would be more than you want to ride. Adding these products made a night and day difference. On the trip, when I reached the halfway point and back home, I felt like I could have added another 100 miles each way without a problem

Alaska Leather makes several sheepskin seat pad options for a lot less than the wild ass air gel pad. I bought their cheapest one ($60) several years and thousands of miles ago. It's been great. It's comfy, thin, breathable, surprisingly water-resistant, and doesn't get hot even when parked in direct sunlight. My dad got an air pad for his bike, but didn't like it at all.

Add to that list grip puppies....foam sleeves that make long rides vibe free and comfy. Buy the gsa and get hard luggage. You have longer travel suspension on that and a smoother ride as well as a better standard screen. Standard gsa seat is also super comfy on long haul rides. Saddleman saddles also great but pricey as are any number of alternatives...get std seat firmed up by refoaming if needed. Thats it...thats all you need for the best long haul bike in creation.
