MORE MOTORCYCLE DETAILING CONTENT PLEASE. Caps intentional... this was awesome. Personally, I enjoy cleaning my Aprilia even more than my car or van. Do you have any videos detailing a sport bike? A couple times a year, I go so far as to strip off the fairings, and remove the wheels to give my bike a crazy deep clean.

This is perfect timing. I have a friend's Harley FLHTKL Limited to do a full detail & coating next weekend. I have a few ?'s... 1. After pre-soak with All-Clean and rinse, I'm thinking that your Rinsless, sprayed out of a foam sprayer, would get in between the engine fins and crevices better than the incredible suds foam would. What do you guys think? Rinseless or foam it? 2. Is your DIY Coating heat resistant to where I can install it on headers and chrome exhaust pipes? 3. Will it even bond well to chrome with chrome not being porous like clear is? 4. Without a door jamb to take a paint depth gauge reading, how can one estimate the amount of microns of clear are avail. on tank & other paint. 5. If it has the rear trunk & hard side bags, what's the best way to coat the trunk, remove it, or leave it on?

Last question on spraying ceramic, I promise. 😄 When sprayed, will the coating (metal or regular) self-level? Can I spray it with my airbrush and leave it on the fins and hard to reach chrome parts and leave to dry, self-level, without wiping? I would still be hand applying as usual to the larger reachable parts. Thanks for all your advice as I wrap up my first Harley correction & coating.
@diydetailofficial

I wouldn’t spray a coating unless you’re wearing a full PPE suit, and in a paint booth. Coatings are easily absorbed into the skin. When I see videos of Detailers applying coatings with a cheap mask, in short sleeves I feel sorry for them, it’s a very real health risk when they are atomized so finely. For the engine etc, apply DIY Detail Quick Beads everytime you wash. Yvan

@DIY Detail I do have all the necessary PPE, including the suit with hood and commercial quality, OSHA approved, 3M dual cartridge respirator & goggles/gloves. I'm only spraying the main block area in under a minute, but yes, I will be fully protected. So in my situation, can you still let me know if your metal coating will self-level after spraying or need wiped? 🤔 I hold you & DIY Detail harmless and assume & accept full responsibility for my actions & alternative application of the product. 🤓

I have a bottle of your Metal ceramic coating on its way to coat paint & chrome on a 2015 Harley Limited. I've seen others (DPC) spray their ceramic coating using a gravity fed, air brush sprayer with a .5mm or 1mm tip to get in-between all the cooling fins & engine nooks & crannies. Can I do the same with your Metal ceramic & would I need to wipe between all the fins to level or just leave it? All the other larger areas I would apply by hand applicator & level as usual. And being only driven during summer months in OH, could he realistically expect 4+ yrs. coating longevity with proper care? Thanks for all your help & awesome products!

@@diydetailofficial thank you so much for sharing that. I think those similar numbers in my head but then wonder if there is a market for it… I’m sure there is, but that’s a big number in my head. This wasn’t even a dresser, no bags to remove or clean no side covers, even the seat off a ultra or street glide adds another 1/2just to remove and reinstall, that’s not even adding cleaning there. I’ve never had my bike detailed, I do that each winter when I can’t ride. The dealer calls it a detail when they clean it after a service… then I go home and clean up their cleaning! LOL. They charge $25 to do a S100 spray and rinse. It’s a great product, but I can get 3jobs out of a can and it costs me less to by the product and I finish the cleaning up with a wash and dry after I do it. That’s just maintenance after a ride or before I go somewhere I want it to shine! I appreciate your time guys and find myself somewhat addictive to your channels.
