Another good chat and good to hear he knows its time to move... An interesting, ironic book you should read, if you haven't already, is called 'Who moved my Chese" basically about the 'do what you've always done, get what you've always got... but quite the ironic book considering Storms current work...

I think it was you Dave that said keep an eye out for this young lad called Storm Stacey when you were on the MotoPod show, this would be before he was on a junior superstock bike. Apologies if I got thos wrong but have been following his career since then👍

You’re quite right, Ovi , and thank you for remembering 😁 I’ve known of Storm for a lot of years now back to his FAB days against Josh Whatley, Scott Ogden etc and then into Motostar with Repli-Cast and Fireplace Warehouse 😉

I can't handle the cheeky chappy chimney sweep routine for more than 2 minutes I'm afraid. He's very popular with housewives and old grannies though so what do I know.

Having spent a considerable time in Storms company, I can honestly say I doubt You'll meet a nicer fella. An utter petrolhead, straight from the school of hard knocks and fast as hell. This man will be champ, make no mistake.

Little bit late to the party….but a great catch up with Storm, looking forward to see what plans he has fur ‘25. It does beg the question, dies he need a manager to act for him to take way some of the pressure?
@OffTrack_Podcast23 күн бұрын
It's a tricky one, I don't think he needs a manager in the Roger Burnett mould but he certainly could do with someone to help him navigate the sport and round the edges off a little. I know some comments on this episode raised eyebrows with potential sponsors so that's something to work on for sure, Neil.

Storm is thoroughly nice and likeable young man. A proper bike racer who would be an asset in any paddock. Or do you prefer your racers to be like those robots in moto gp, moto 2 and 3 etc etc. I reckon he's got what it takes, and I have a sneaking suspicion that we may see him at the TT one day, he's definitely crazy enough 😂.
@OffTrack_PodcastАй бұрын
TT? I would be VERY surprised at that. NW200 maybe but the TT is becoming more and more specialist with the power of the bikes and the level of competition. He’d definitely be an asset to any paddock, especially in this modern world of PR automatons (save for Pedro, David Alonso)
@nicksidell4797Ай бұрын
Jesus Christ, I’m so pleased that he’s got a ride for 25 especially as you keep saying all the other rides disappearing to others to others Dave. He is such a bloody character call it whatever way you like it that top hat 🎩 Will always have something to say about it. 👍
@OffTrack_PodcastАй бұрын
Thanks, Nick! Yeah from the outside it looked worrying at one point but all settled now and just have to wait on the announcement 📢🎩
@nicksidell4797Ай бұрын
@ i’ve got no problem in waiting be a nice surprise for the New Year, but the main thing I was concerned about just as an outsider looking in. I didn’t want to see him but left high and dry without anything but as we both well now there is too many Downs and sometimes not enough apps in this game, but very pleased that he’s got something sorted.
@andrewoverton5170Ай бұрын
The only place for a top hat on a bike is around a wheel spindle. They say that if you have nothing nice to say it's best to say nowt so I'll leave it at that.

Absolutely Leigh, but unfortunately he won’t entertain the idea from anyone. I don’t know whether he’s writing a book or he’s happy just populating his FB page but then answer is a firm ‘no thanks’ and I fully respect that.

It’s Storm’s tribute to his late dad. Lester was a huge character and always dressed for the occasion and after his sad loss Storm wears it as a nod of respect to his dad and a symbol of positive mental health for men. It’s a really poignant reminder for everyone to try and talk openly about any problems before it’s too late.
