Thanks for that, that vid was the one that set it all off. I must watch it myself again sometimes. I was learning the ropes then 😂 I will try and get out more bike vids this coming year if I can but sometimes life does get in the way. Thanks for watching and commenting ATVB for the New Year 😃👍

Brilliant thanks Chris it’s going back a bit now. Old and grainy footage, with old Tex. Thanks for watching, might watch it again myself if I get chance probably cringe a bit 😂👍 I could do with changing some stuff on my channel like the intro vid and my page title, and profile pic but then think people might not think it’s me and I just leave it. It’s the old saying why fix it if it’s not broken.

I was looking at that particular bit of road as a possible trip & was wondering what the road surface was like, looks a bit gravelly in bits, but OK with care. The worst place i have ever been in Scotland for midges is Glen Trool not far away. Interesting your comments on getting the bike down/back from your pitch. I have an FJR1300, so have to be a bit choosy, were I take her. Usually end up ferrying the gear to the pitch etc. Thanks for sharing
@stevebutler71566 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting Tony. it is a bit gravelly in parts but if you take it easy should be ok. yep midges can be a problem, if you have a look at my latest wild camp on the bike vid you will see my idea on repellent. ATB Steve
@Hutchie21126 жыл бұрын
You'd be fine on the FJR, I live just round the corner from the raiders road, and often go along it on my vstrom. It is very gravelly in parts, but if you are going steady and looking ahead, you'll breeze it. I used to do it on my FJ2100 np.

Hi Dave, thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you watch the vid carefully you will see where I am. Genuinely not being awkward but easy info likes that spoils the Adventure, everybody knows and then it spoils the area by being overused. To be honest it seems like a popular spot already, but lets not make it too popular. Currently planning a next one at another location and that's half the fun.. ATB Steve

Unless it's raining, I don't see the point in a tent though. I just throw my sleeping bag on a ground cloth and look at the stars and planets. In my world we don't camp on someone else's property unless we get permission before hand. It looks like a fine camping spot though I must say, I would have neem tempted myself. Laws are different on that topic in UK I reckon.
@stevebutler71566 жыл бұрын

My woman is my best friend and i love her company wherever i am. Its great to share with her and make her smile. Especially beautiful surrounds with beautiful people.

Lee, you said the magic word; Share. The problem with that is women will tend to force a man to conform to a certain set of limits. If a man loves to ride his bike or do anything else, there is no reason why a relationship should prevent him from doing the things he enjoy. Any woman that tells a man she doesn't want him to ride today or she doesn't want him hanging around "those guys" or she doesn't like the way he looked at that other woman, or anything else need to move on. I, for one, enjoy living my life, seeing who I want to see, being with any woman I want, and enjoying the things I like to do. If she likes it, then great. If she doesn't, then there are plenty of women that can take her place.

The Chitlins Not really Trespassing and definitely not stealing. The locked gate is to stop people driving down it and parking there overnight. It’s all Scottish forestry commission which is publicly owned. So me taking a piece of slate to cook on from one publicly owned forest area, not really the crime of the century. I’ll call into the local village constabulary next time I’m up there to hand myself in 😂. The local Bobbie will probably tell me to “feck off an canny stop Wessin ma feckin time ya wee Bahm pot” Scotland is a fantastic part of the world if you ever get the chance come and have a look. Ps I also love America been to quite a few places can’t wait to go back. ATB from across the pond and thanks for watching 😁👍
