This video in an unintentional way shows why royal enfield have performed really well globally in the past few years....the people involved from designer to engineers to even the accountants are all bikers... I don't think there is any company right now where everyone from their CEO to everyone involved with making important decision are true bikers.

I agree. From riding with them, it was crystal clear they are bikers through and through. They can't hide their enthusiasm.
*Crash Test Dummy*, what a guy. So enthusiastic, polite and well spoken. Not enough people in the comment section are shouting out C.T.D. Fantastic quality filming and editing in this epic journey. Not that I’d expect anything less. Keep it up Dave. You’ve cultivated quite the loyal motorcycle enthusiasts fan base which I’m delighted to be and feel apart of.

Back in the 90's I worked in a UK dealership and sold the old Enfield Bullets and one day we had a visit from India by the CEO, Designer and their chief road tester who had his arm in a sling! Upon asking what had happened he said in India they don't use the front brake but they had just started fitting the twin leading shoe hub so he tried slamming on the front brake but because the drum wasn't perfectly circular the brake jammed and put him over the bars breaking his collar bone 😅. Fun times with those early Enfield's 😊
@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV21 күн бұрын
They've come a long, long way.
@twowheeledparadox17 күн бұрын
Back in 1999 or 2000, we upgraded our Bullet 350's front half-width drum brake to the new 7-inch twin leading shoe setup. That drum was perfectly circular. However, every single drum (with the whole wheel) we bought thereafter had the problem you mentioned. We used to buy the wheels off brand new bikes that had them replaced with alloy wheels. Got them at really good prices. So, these were factory fitted drums that were not perfectly circular! The last one we bought back in 2022, I think.

Love it Dave Great nickname for Shawn CTD (Crash Test Dummy)LOL. Some magic footage as always. Great people and fantastic scenery. Where those tires a bit sketchy on the dirt ? They looked very road like on the footage when you were packing the bike. Also did those side bags make the bike a bit top heavy up next to the tank? Happy New Year for 2025 Waiting to see the full Himalayan build when it drops.
@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV6 күн бұрын
I was initially skeptical of the tank side bags, but that actually worked a treat. I was only talking to Clubby about how effective they were, even if they look a little dorky. Yeah tyres weren't up for it. They did well on the road, but slippery in the dirt.

Thanks for the history complete w/ US City comparisons.... that helps me put a face to a Nation I barley know anything about but I'm alos watching for the Bike(450) that I have considered. I know they have a network to take care of this bike but as I'm seeing it IDKnow that the United States has a network to help w/ parts & all? Anyhoo, be safe & seasons greetings

It's a great bike. Don't know about the States.
@diggy-d8w21 күн бұрын
Yes & I learned about it from a gent from the UK..... I live near a large US City yet there's only 1 dealer & they also sell all the other "Off Brands" that are smaller.... But I like the bike enough to have watched your video & it's inspiring to say the least. Thanks for it. I know that any of the big Japanese Manufacturer's have support here but since I've never seen a Royal Enfield in my travels it left me wondering. I've heard good things though & I'm trying to give it its due diligence in researching the brand. She's an ugly bike but I don't care if it lasts. TY again for the video.
@TeamSpitphya21 күн бұрын
We have a great dealer network in the US. Where abouts are you?
@diggy-d8w21 күн бұрын
I have a Dealer about 40 miles from me (Dallas, Texas)..... I consider this location to be the center of the US for many corporations but again, I'd not seen any of their bikes on the road. Of course, this 450 is a dual sport who spends more time off road than on the roads & I've only learned of the brand in the last year. I was impressed at their doing the big Race in Africa so I reached out & found 1 dealer in North Texas. There may be more but I've got a starting point, for now I'm looking at this video seeing just how popular it is there! That's impressive to me & so all my thread here is about me wanting to know more. I appreciate your time as well, thank you.

I did have one but it expired a couple of weeks before the Goa ride and I forgot to check. Before this trip I was in the US and then China so had already sorted a couple of Visas that month. I typically renew my Indian visa as soon as the old one runs out (because I spend so much time in India) but this time I couldn't because of other travel and then simply forgot. I applied from the airport and got a new in somthing like 30 hours which is pretty good going but enough to cause the delay!

The entire west coast from Goa to Kerala is known by mythology as being created by Parshurama an avatar of Vishnu , struck an arrow into the sea and the land rose out of the sea,monsoons more powerful then their now washed away the saltiness, Parshurama and fellow humans setled there by bringing in their agri expertise. This has been proven by finding of 12000 year old sea creature above the ghats in Goa proving that the land was under the sea and proving the myth as true....also near the Kerala coast there are present under water impact craters dated to 12000 years. The arrow of Parshurama.... Many other regions have myths on how the world was created by the gods...The Goa ,Karnataka, Kerala coast has its own creation myth that has been proven by science.
