Motorcycle Adventure Australia Cairns to Darwin - Tropical Punch movie length

Tropical Punch is a motorcycle adventure film presented in two parts that follows Dave and Nugget as they cross the tropical top end of Australia on Husqvarna 701s.
This ride was supported by Husqvarna Motorcycles Australia, Ellwood Motorcycle Adventures, Giant Loop and Adventure Moto.

In this first part they hook up with Woody, Ellyse and Squid of Ellwood Motorcycle Adventures on their organised off road tour from Cairns to Darwin. They tag along with twenty other riders of mixed skill levels to tackle some serious adventure.
In the second half of the series Dave and Nugget again head off with Woody, Ellyse and Squid into the Western Australian Kimberley. But this time not on a tour. Woody is searching for new trails to expand his business into this stunning landscape.

31 minutes in. Do you guys ever bother with comms? Even if only the lead and the tail-end guys have comms, they could tell fellow riders when to stop and ride the bike for injured riders (when there's a tough section coming up). It really could help someone (who needs nursing), rather than let them struggle half-way through and potentially hurt themselves a lot more.

Best ride of my life, from the tip of Cape York, down to Cairns with Roy and Co. Next life I will explore the WA desert but my riding days are over this time round. If you can still do it and if Ozzy ever opens up again after COVID-19 then it's the most amazing place for bike adventures... I highly recommend it.

I am in a position in my work life where I simply cannot get out and ride as often or as far as I used to. Sitting here feeling a bit isolated as a result, watching these long form videos of your adventures sure does help!! I have often dreamed of getting my old trust KTM 530 EXC over there to explore the places you ride. It has the 6.6 gallon tank on it and I can reliably hit 300 miles on a tank even loaded down and riding in questionable terrain. But man... that mud!! I'll take the sand over the mud all day long! PLEASE keep cranking out these kinds of videos as long as you can.

We stayed at Chillagoe Cabins during our Savannahlander trip in 2018 and we saw cane toads outside and a green frog in the toilet bowl. When it was flushed it would spread out and try and hold on but ultimately be flushed away before returning a little while later. The lava tubes are well worth a visit. Anthony

My best friend and riding bud have been riding together since 1982. We rode to Argentina from Kentucky U.S. and made several other trips to Central America. We have done several 1000 mile days. Dave and I have a test for new tents: 1) Leave it in the new packaging. 2) Ride to camping destination. 3) Get drunk. 4) wait until dark. 5) Mount petzle lamp on forehead. 6) Pitch tent while the other guys laugh. If you can put that sum'bitch up so it doesn't collapse, in the dark, sight unseen, it's s a damn good tent! Heavy rain during pitching is a plus!

Armour wouldn't have prevented that injury Darren. I came off badly recently and had all the protection and still tore all the muscles off my shoulder cuff. The armour isn't designed to prevent the shoulder from being pushed back from a hit to the front. I also wore chest protection and fractured 5 ribs. I'm going give the airbag jacket a go (when I recover from the massive shoulder injury) and even try gridiron shoulder pads which appear to cover the front of the shoulder. Maybe MAD could do a review on these two forms of shoulder protection, nudge nudge, wink wink.

God I wish they sold the Husqvarna 701's here because I really dig that 600km range tank and that lovely suspension for our crappy roads, sadly there's no dealership here and the importers only have the Svartpiler, Vitpilen and they are priced astronomically high.

This would be a adventure of a lifetime. Curiosity, is there a Kawasaki KLR 650 available in Australia ? Seems like it would be an ideal bike for those long stretches of Highway with no stops .

The 2021 model will be out soon, if it's not already out. Yeah they do long highway well. I'm not sure if I'd like one for this trip, unless it had some serious work and some serious improvements in protection.

I use a lavier mic connected to my go pro. The mic is hooked inside my adventure helmet. The KLiM vest is great for filming. That is my second jacket.
