The wheels look great now! The CX turbo bikes have that retro future look in spades. I love the color scheme on this bike with the yellow and black trim. I love watching these on KZbin, because I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in the wild, or at least not in the last 25-30 years.

These wheels are awesome. This motorcycle has been so much fun. Can’t wait till the fuel pump arrives.

In 1982 I bought a new CB900F, and one of my riding buddies bought one of these Turbo`s. They were about the same, as far as speed goes. I ended up putting about 40K on the 900, and of all the motorcycles I`ve owned (50) or so, I always considered it to be the best. I had an 81 CX500 Custom, which I traded in on the 900. Honda should have never quit making this engine. I`m going to enjoy this series.

I always clean before working. It makes it much much easier to see what you’re doing. That a great bike and is in fantastic condition considering it’s 40 odd years old.

gotta have a clean bike! My 84 CB650SC's motor looked very similar to your CX500's...same faded paint...I hit it with S100 engine brightener and it magically looked all gloss black and new again! Granted, it's just a band aid...but it lasted quite a few months before starting to fade again. It sure beats repainting the motor!

Mothers wheel or metal polish will take more off those wheels. Looking great.
@motorcyclerewind5 ай бұрын
I thought about using some time of metal polish. Was concern about the finish coming off the wheel. Seeing how its faded so much in the rear. I can do a test spot on the rear. Can't make it worse! Thanks for the heads up. Now to go shopping.

Armor All will take away the oxidation in the black engine parts and make it look new. It lasts a fair amount of time after application too. Good luck.

I accidentally discovered that while cleaning this bike. Sprayed it with the tire foam, let it sit till all the foam dissipated. Then blew it off with the air compressor. Looked really good. Thanks for watching.

I've got a 6 cylinder Kawasaki ( future project ) has a electric fuel pump didn't work. I put carb clean in the inlet and outlet to clean things out.( repeatedly ) reversed polarity back and forth and got the fuel pump to work.

17:23 Whats on your upper lip in this shot? It kind of looks like you were sucking on the exhaust end of a muffler. : ) It's funny the places grease and grime will end up when you're working in the garage. That's a cool bike. Normally the 80's stuff doesn't do it for me (with all the plastics and the squares) but I'm starting to appreciate those bikes more.
