My Chinese crap Hawk 250 has over 16,000 problem-free miles. I’ve ridden it hundreds of miles per day for days on end throughout NC and SC and it’s never left me stranded. We have a few guys in our Hawk 250 Facebook group that have over 35,000 miles on the original engine and one guy has over 90,000 miles on his and just replaced his engine. 90,000 miles! If you can wrench on your bikes, the Hawk 250 is a pretty good deal if you properly do the PDI out of the crate. The problem is, most dudes can’t do the necessary prep out of the box and don’t have a clue what to do when and if they need a part or if something goes wrong. Frequently, the type of people that purchase a Hawk250 or a lower-cost Chinese bike aren’t exactly your most teachable or “studious” when it comes to mechanical ability. Thus, they end up destroying their Chinese bikes due to lack of proper prep and maintenance or they can never get it to run correctly in the first place. If you want a Hawk-like motorcycle that has high quality control and excellent dealership and parts support, and comes ready to ride, purchase a CSC TT250.

I didn't specifically name the Hawk 250 in the video but showed a clip of it in the video but I was generally referring to some Chinese bikes like the crapper BMS scooters I had which were knockoffs of the Honda scooter but made with cheaper quality parts and haphazardly put together,

Just get a used 250 from a Japanese manufacture and not have to worry though. You can get a used KLX 250 on the marketplace for like 3k with low miles in my area and actually get decent suspension.

They run the gamut from bottom of the barrel all the way to high-end stuff that is equivalent to their Japanese and European counterparts like GPX, Kayo, CFMoto, & Lifan. Thanks for your input!

I respect the old Honda Rebel 250 for what it is great at, and that is as the King of the MSF. It is the perfect bike for MSF classes as its well built, reliable, and not powerful enough to do anything really dumb on. If you pass the MSF and still want to ride on local roads for a season before hitting the highway it is also a solid choice.

The super cup is probably a good scooter. Never ridden one that transmission would be a little weird. And definitely something to just take real easy and cruise. As far as best-selling the super Cubs from the past I'm pretty sure are the most selling motorcycle. Not just Honda. Legit the ONLY Chinese bike brand I'd ever consider is CFMoto. They're alot more reliable than people give em credit for. They get that Chinese bike stereotype by those who don't know the facts. Like the 450SS and 450NK are clear shots at the beginner bike throne aiming at the Ninja 400's crown. The price point is ridiculous for what you get outta the sportbike or naked version. That said the CFMoto dealership level isn't at the level of the big 4 Japanese bikes yet, but they're getting more dealers every month. That number will go up even more once CFMoto releases their bikes with a Triple and in-line 4.

If it's made in Taiwan, Thailand, or Indonesia it will probably be ok. 🤣 I believe that Aprilia Tuono was a lemon, reason I now try to stick to getting new bikes. But man those Chinese scooters I had were not only crap but dangerous. Thanks for being a viewerfrom way out in Yorkshire. I appreciate it. I hope all is blessed your way.

@@exothermal.sprocket well at least untill you take an Italian bike through a English summer. Something always goes electronically. I've had that experience. Like guzzis hate Italian wiring

@@simonsaidgoaway6776 Cruza's issue was electrical, yes, but it was a low-power-limp mode tripped due to intermittent or low voltage, because something as simple as a battery cable wasn't tightened properly. That can happen to any brand that uses a battery.

Yeah I'll never forget sliding all over the place in the rain on those crappy tires on that BMS scooter I crashed on it because of those tires but that thing was a rattle box. Anybody I called to try and fix the scooter all said "naw man we don't work on those bikes." lol However, I got my money back and more by parting it out. I was foolish enough to buy two of them. Like they say a cheap man pays twice. 🤣 I'm just grateful to be alive after riding those crappers.
