If a brand new car depreciates by 20% as soon as you drive it off the lot, what happens to a car that has been sitting on the lot for a year? No thanks!
@xxwagyllamabootyxx8554
@xxwagyllamabootyxx8554 12 күн бұрын
"Doesn't depreciate at all" cause the dealers and the companies don't want to lower price. They would rather sell lower quantity at higher price than other way around. You would think a car sitting on the lot for over a year would have a massive discount but dealers don't care. I'm looking to go after a 15-17 f150 for my next truck and used market floats them round 18k-24k in my area with 130k miles. Car prices are ridiculous

Most people couldnt afford a 50k truck when they were 50k. A 74k truck discounted to 60 is still permanently out of reach for those that couldnt afford a 50k truck 5 years ago. No matter how you try to market a discount youre still only selling to the wealthy rich.

First... it needs to be said that " Death Wobble" is a thing on any 4x4 with front axle on coil springs. The coil springs generally work better. But require a lot of arms and dampners to keep them tightly aligned. In 2019 I was still waiting for Ford to bring out the new Bronco. But needed a new truck. My 2007 GMC 2500 was starting to rust through the rear fenders. And had 156,000 miles. I looked at Wranglers. As I didnt really NEED a 3/4 ton truck. A Rubicon then was breaking 50 grand. Most any trim level I wanted was in the mid to upper 40s. I looked at Ford Superdutys. I could buy an XLT for the same price. A V8 3/4 ton truck with roomy 4 door crew cab and either 8' or 6'9" bed. Properly speced with 4.30 rears had a tow rating of 15,000. Wheres the equity in the Jeep? I ended up ordering a 2019 Superduty Lariat...Crew Cab. Short bed. 6.2 gas with 4.30 rears. 15,000 tow rating. Rubber floor in place of carpet which freaked out the salesman... nice heated and cooled leather seats... huge accessible interior...out the door under $52,000.00..... Same truck with a diesel would have been 10 grand more. Sorry. But the Wranglers have been way over priced for a very long time. Yes the Rubicon has a lot of cool offroad gear. That 99% of owners will never get within 500 miles of needing. And who really would take a $96,000.00 jeep and bash it over rocks and scrape the sides through the trees anyway? Everyone will miss the demize of the hot Challengers and Chargers. Its disgusting listening to this pompus European millionair dick head justifying the only good selling Chrystler products they have being dumped in favor of EVs nobody wants... which do nothing for the environment... And then to refuse to sell Dodge off to someone who can market them? Those cars should set on the lot for a decade... as a musium to ignorance, stupidity, and arrogance.

This proves 2 things, one the quality is piss poor right now and people are telling their friends stay away if they can help it and two: the prices are just too darn high! don't get me wrong almost every automaker has raised prices but for you have already owned a MOPAR/STELLANTIS vehicle you know he parts quality was already crap, especially when you have to make a repair and you are told the part is on a 60 day back order because are thousands of failures. This is so crazy that the CDJR vehicle were slowly working their way up to making the vehicles to be more premium, to reverse all that upward mobility by making the quality worse and marking everything up by 10K Nissan is a good example of another brand under the STELLATIS umbrella that has cut lots of corner to keep the cars affordable but also sells cars worldwide so the cuts are not as drastic as MOPAR but some of those cuts have cost them repeat customers as well

I was like WHY NOT! I have a feeling I am going to have to order and install these parts myself on my own dime even though they are listed on the sticker and essentially I already paid for them. They did a dealer swap for me to get it based upon searching on the RAM truck inventory website. I went based upon the Window sticker and brochure and the few pics of the truck. This was a brand new truck and is under warranty. You would think these things would be under warranty, but apparently not, so my bad for assuming I would get a truck complete with items listed on the Window sticker and the brochere. Live and learn. This makes me sour on RAM, now I intend on trading next Spring for a GMC.

The biggest “incentives” I’ve seen at local dealers in central Illinois is 3K off Wranglers & maybe 6K off Ram trucks but when you’re talking insane prices anywhere from 65K to 125K those so-called incentives don’t make a dent. This is what happens when the people setting MSRP’s make upwards of a million a year & have no clue what real people are struggling with today.

I can understand the ram dealers shutting down because, I bought my ram 1500 Big Horn with the hemi engine in 2017. I have never had to take it to the dealer for any repairs. One update recall for the cruise control which took about 15 minutes. That’s it. I do all my own oil changes brake inspections… maintenance like filters, changing, wiper blades, greasing the door, hinges, changing the brake fluid every three years. I have always done that for decades in all my vehicles. So the dealer never really sees me again. I bought a new Ford E150 van, a 1978 which I bought in 1977. Never had it to the dealer and I owned that truck for 31 years. When I finally sold it because I wanted a truck with an automatic transmission and air conditioning for a change, that truck drove away with the new owner. I am going into my ninth winter with my ram here where they throw salt on the roads from sometimes November through March. I used fluid film to protect the chassis and body from under the truck on the fifth day after I brought the truck home when I bought it new. I have videos on my KZbin channel showing annual chassis inspections to see how well the fluid film is holding up. I have thousands of views of those videos that I put on every year in the fall, when I prep my truck for salt exposure here in Pennsylvania, and in the spring time, I make a video showing how my truck held up after being exposed to five months of salt. I don’t have any rust yet going into the ninth winter. I did a thorough job applying that fluid film with the spray cans. You can buy at Home Depot or Lowe’s and an attachment. That’s about 30 inches long so you can get in every hole under the hood and in the doors and in the Frame, holes and rocker panel plugs, up the door posts, up the windshield post all the way to the roof with that tool that snaps onto the spray cans. I did the bulk of the under coating under the truck with the spray gun that I bought on eBay along with a gallon of fluid film back in 2017. I did an annual inspection video on KZbin for this year, 2024, take a walk. Maintenance is a bit time consuming and can be a little expensive. But that which ought to be done and isn’t, is more expensive.

I did an analysis a few years ago and back then, it cost Jeep about 8K in materials to make a basic Wrangler. The R&D and design, as well as the marketing was already long ago paid off and factored in, as well. Meaning their highest profit margins were from what is basically a 40+ year old design. This made sense when you could get one starting at 16K. Now, they start at 30K and aren't made any differently. Maybe 10K in materials and a 3x markup over cost. And that's for the most basic one. Add in options and it's a staggeringly greedy profit margin. Yet they persist instead of offering an economical alternative. The issue is that the company is simply milking the last few whales and enthusiasts ( to use MMO terminology ) before it withers away.

Their stubborn attitude is losing them opportunities they can't get back. They aren't giving enough incentives to even come close to the 2020 prices for THE SAME TRUCKS. What they are doing for interest is useless when the price is so high for THE SAME TRUCK I ALREADY OWN. Then, they don't even want THEIR OWN TRUCKS on trade in so they lowball you so bad, you are pretty much paying them to take your trade in. So, who's making deals, decent prices, working decent interest rates? GM.

However, I had that issue in my 1998 Ford Explorer AWD that I purchased used with 100k miles, and it took me the better part of year to figure out the problem on my own, aided by a couple of KZbin videos. Then, I took it my mechanic and told him what the problem was and the components I wanted him to replace. All's well ever since. But that death wobble has to be the most alarming issue I've ever had while driving...quite literally felt like the entire car was going to shake itself to pieces while up to speed on the highway (and only at highway speeds).
