Hey everyone and thanks for watching the video. Before some comments mention it, yes, we understand that the circuit breaker is designed to be as close to the battery is possible to prevent short circuiting and overload. At 23:40 I said this is what native watercraft recommended us to do and this is actually what they showed in their official Titan X motorization kit install. After reaching out to native ourselves, asking the same question and sharing the same concerns, as well as talking to other native titan x owners, we decided this was the best option for us as it was what native recommended. If you prefer to get the circuit breaker closer to the battery there is options for that too, you DON’T have to do it this way if you don’t want to. Native’s response to my email: “Conor, that is a good place for it, it depends on the set up and where the battery is. The longest distance we suggest is the battery being behind the seat and the breaker under the front hatch. Hope this helps! The build looks good from what I see!” Also, this lifepo4 battery itself also has BMS protection built in, which protects from overcharging & over-discharging, over-current, short circuit, and over-temp (As stated directly on their website). We appreciate the concern and if we feel the need we can always add a fuse or circuit breaker closer to the battery at a later date. But we both think it’ll be okay. Thank you all for watching!

To give you a reason why native requires 8 gauge wire to hook up a trolling motor from where your battery is in the back to the front. If you were using a smaller wire, it would lose the amperage through the wire. The bigger the wire the less amperage loss going to wherever it needs to. That's why they use four two and four gauge wiring on welders because of the distance of how far some welders that got a weld and where their machine is less amperage loss. This has been a great video because I am going to buy the Titan x and I really appreciate all the work that you guys are putting into it. Building us and Pete when you were doing the butt connectors on the battery to hook up the for the battery there. It's the pink butt. Connectors are actually heat shrink connectors anytime that you see pink or blue and I believe black shiny like that. All you got to do is heat them up with your pencil lighter and they will shrink down and make a good connection. Also, we used them a lot when I ran on the road fixing lights on the trailers and we would use those and they worked wonderfully. Kept the salt in calcium chloride out of the wiring so they'd last a lot longer. Great build! Thank you!

Thank you for explaining that , but wouldn't it be easier to put a breaker on the battery box ?? Everyone says breaker on box, native says hatch and bonafide has a video putting breaker on hatch . I'm waiting on my xi3 so all information is welcomed.

Also forgot to mention that today I’ve had my best day ever fishing which happened to be in the Pine Glades Natural Area by my house. I caught over 25 bass today and one was over 4 pounds. Rest were small. I was able to get into tight places with this kayak. I used 5 inch Senkos (green pumpkin 297). I caught so many fish that I ran out of two packs of senkos. Then I switched over to other plastic worms and didn’t catch anything. Not sure if they work up north where you guys are but definitely research them.

Congrats, yea we both have great luck with green pumpkin senkos. They are always a quality bait as a go to, to catch fish.

Another great video in the series. You've shown me a few things that I had questions on that I wasn't able to find answers to anywhere else so sincere thank you. Really appreciative to see someone finally do an install without cutting the xi3 power cable, I've asked about this and was never able to get an answer. You did it and made it look great. If you do add the lift and lower lines please do another video on that if you can, would be appreciated. In this video I do wish you didn't cut the part of installing the bow plate before the quick release bracket. I assume it's standard to remove all 8 of the screws so the bow plate sits flush?

Thank you glad you enjoyed the video and we will definitely make a video on the lift and lower lines if we do decide to install them in the future. As for the motor bracket up front you do remove the 8 screws to make the plate sit flush to the hull and then your allset. Thanks for the support !

Loving your build series on the Titan X. Are you going to be showing the install of the Xi3 Launch/Retrieve system? I never thought of putting the Yakpower lights on the Hatch Lid, that is ingenious. Keep up the great work guys and love your content.

We’ll have to see how the first few trips go on the water. If we don’t feel like we need the launch retrieve system we may not but this is a lot different from my old kayak so who knows. Thanks for watching.

You guys do it all right without trying to cut corners. I love that you guys went out of your way to get the proper tools. Will you be doing micro poles? I’m in south Florida where it’s pretty much shallow everywhere so I’m debating getting them. Also, on a side note. The red paint will chip pretty hard from the sidekick wheel mount. I’ve used my kayak three times now and the red octagon that goes into the other piece is all shot in terms of paint. You can’t see it since it always sits in the octagonal pipe but just a heads up.

Power poles are something we are considering but it may be next winter. Our ponds are anywhere from 8-30 ft deep so no real need for them now but who knows. Appreciate the kind words.

Great watching you guys,nice clean setup. Well done!. I have yet to pick up my Titan X but was wondering what I was going to do also with the long length of the cable,cut to size or bundle it like you guys did. I think I will bundle it,makes sense in case of resale. Also,where did you source the sheathing for the XI3 cable? Thanks

So you just reuse the hardware that was already in the mounting holes when you receive the kayak,not the hardware that comes in the bag when mounting the Native plate and the puck,correct?
@UntamedOutdoorsmen
@UntamedOutdoorsmen 2 ай бұрын
No. The plate comes with longer bolts. You just take the stock ones out and use the longer bolts instead.

is loading/launching this kayak doable with one person with your current hauling setup?
@UntamedOutdoorsmen
@UntamedOutdoorsmen 3 ай бұрын
I haven’t been out yet hopefully well be on the water in two weeks or so, but I don’t see why it would cause any problems. It is heavy but doable my old kayak was pretty heavy too. Everything I have is rated for the weight of the kayak so I don’t see there being any problems. However I would be hesitant to recommend this setup if someone had a health problem or something similar and found lifting heavy items a challenge.
