Motorhome delays - Swift Kon-Tiki 794

After a long awaited order on a brand new Swift Kon-Tiki 774 and with all the delays We went for a long drive to look around a 10 month old a Swift Kon-Tiki 794. Did we buy it?

That’s a good looking van, really pleased for you. The poles in the boot are rafter poles for the wind out awning to tension it. Happy adventures.👍

We're in exactly the same position, we've had an AutoTrail Delaware on order for over a year with no hope of delivery this year so have gone for a nearly new KT 794!

Its not good being there waiting as long as we all have been and Jodie's stepdad Colin is still in that cycle of waiting, glad you found something else that suits your needs. The good thing about a new ish used van is most of the jobs or snagging has been done and there maybe some mods already added. Happy Travels 😊

Hi, canI ask a question? We are looking to retire and live and travel UK and Europe for around 3 years. There are so many motor homes to choose from, they boggle the mind ;) My hubby has been looking at tag axle but I am not so sure. I know you love your van, could you live in it? Hi, the most important thing is the layout to suit your needs with a good payload, i wouldn’t worry to much about the length as again you need to be sure you are comfortable driving that size van. I'm happy with the length of just under 8 meters as every site will take that size van, most sites will take tag just not every site so bear that in mind. You won’t have any issues in Europe. As for our van the answer is yes we could easily live in our van, it's got a payload of over 1 tonne and lots of storage. The bed is always made up for the evening and has a good size living space for the daytime. So what we see as important is layout for you, payload to carry all your items without the van going over weight. Hope this helps on your journey of finding the right van for you and happy travels. 😊

Great decision We've been waiting since Oct21 for our new m/h and still no firm date and hearing of other orders just being cancelled while other new vehicles are going into dealer stock with no immediate home which seems strange.Enjoy!

Hi and thank you, we were able to recover all our deposit as I believe a deposit cannot be kept unless stated in a contract. Our original dealer said this would be possible from the start as I asked so we were confident it would be ok. Happy travels 😊

I have the same model, its not bad but there are a few things that could be improved. The bed is a bit short (I'm 5'11" and only just fit. The position of the awning means that if you fit the Thule G3 residence room sides it cuts across the lounge window and the rear locker door. A lot of wasted space in the high cupboards either side of the cooker and under the wash room basin, I made some extra shelves to resolve this. The lounge hit level locker shelves are also sagging under quite minimal weight I'll probable replace them with something beefier. The faux leather feels nice but you slide on it. Access to the boiler drain cock is a pain as is the electrical box under the seat. Another fail is the lack of a lower awning rail to fit a draught excluder, not sure what the designers at Swift were thinking or if they were thinking at all.The overall build quality of Swift caravans and motorhomes has fallen in the past few years and it fell much flimsier than my 2018 Eccles caravan. Given the price point of this MH all the above points should have been ironed out. Watch the ground clearance (or rather lack of it) the fresh water tank drain valve grounded out and tore of mine on my first trip out, just driving off the main road into a campsite entrance (it's not an uncommon problem on the current Non-Tiki range). I ended up removing it and replacing it with a manual valve fitted direct to the tank. The electric valves are a bit of a pain as its much easier to just get out of the cab and turn a manual valve (over engineered and unnecessarily complicated for the function they are intended to perform. That aside enjoy your new MH and happy travels. If you haven't done so yet get a "Taylor made" screen cover, prevents condensation on even the coldest nights.

Hi, As standard you should get a Cat7 tracker, thats the minimum you need for your insurance after that it's anything you want to add for your own peace of mind, Happy Travels 😊
