Jerry. I also have the 2020 low rider s. I put a Saddlemen step up seat, much beater than stock. I needed to get more pull back on the bars also. I went with a two inch riser and a three inch high Rox adjustable riser. I used this combination so as to not have to add extensions. Works real well. Can sit upright with a bend in the arms. In the cover plate behind the faring, I added a 23v power takeoff. I also replaced the billboard license plate holder with a laid down one. Looking to add a back rest to carry small pack for overnight trips. Also added a curse control. Have fun with the mods.

Jerry, I am an older guy, probably older than you, and still in the military (in the Air Force like your son), so I try to stay in the best shape possible - but I still notice the lower back strain. I changed to a Saddleman step-up seat, because even though it was designed for very aggressive riding, such as riding wheelies, etc, I find it has amazing lower back support. It also moved me maybe about an inch closer. I am about your size, so that one inch, combined with some 8 inch pull back risers, makes the reach just right for me, and not too high. I have to admit that the 12 and 13 inch bars, or risers, I have tried on other bikes feel great, but I wanted my arms lower and more comfortable. For taller guys, 14 inch bars with forward controls give them a better fit, but for me, the seat and riser changes made a huge difference, keeping the mid control handling advantages.

For setting the time, go to the clock, hold the selector switch in until the clock shows 24 hour/12 hour - select which one. Then press the selector switch again until you get to the clock. Hold the switch in and the Hour will flash. push the selector switch until you get to the correct hour then hold the switch again and it will move to the Minute repeat steps for minute. When your finished hold the selector switch again until it sets. I actually just did it five minuets ago.

Jerry, I brought home a new FXLRS this week. Your review is spot on. One thing I did was adjust the rear brake pedal up (remove pin, screw nut unril only about 1/4 in remaining on threads) which gives you more pressure to apply brake. Also ordered Custom Dynamics front/rear lights as well as the triple play module based on your KZbin review. Now looking at slip-ons (maybe Tab or S&S). Please keep the reviews coming! - Bob S.

Congratulations motorman, I have a lowrider as well, It’s great to have a sporty bike to throw around and have fun with. I actually gave up my FLH because I enjoyed the feel, performance and handling of the Lowrider and was tired of being so insulated from the road. A tall sissy bar to strap a travel bag or small everyday bag for carrying things such as a mini tire air pump and tire repair kit works great and doubles as a backrest. Also, adding some lighting upgrades especially in the rear is highly recommended. I advise putting a LED on the back of the sissy bar at drivers eye level to get peoples attention. I would definitely go with a more practical and comfortable handle bar as well. Have fun with that sharp looking Lowrider. I am happy for you!

Jerry, is there a difference between the old softail custom and the new lowrider S? The softail had high rise bars standard and those were very comfortable. Just wondering if you ever rode the old softail.
@the1nickg4 жыл бұрын
The new softail line has a redesigned frame with many advancements, that offer a lower center of gravity, and better handling. The front and rear suspension are newer technology. The engine and transmission are re-designed with significantly more power, and better cooling. Basically, the new softail (in every model) is a whole new bike. Each model has its own design and rider triangle. I am about Jerrys size, and I have found that 8 inch risers with pullback work great. Even with straight risers, the angle of the rise brings the bars back some. 12 and 13 inch bars (or risers) on other Low Riders I have tried actually feel great. The 14s are a little high for me, but for a few friends around 5'10" to over 6 feet tall, they love the 13s and 14s. So it all depends on the bike and your size (and your seat). The non-S Low Rider has the beach bars, and the Street Bob has the 10 Inch mini apes. So, as you can see, there are many possible configurations for one to modify the bike for a great fit.
@chrisdawson82524 жыл бұрын
Yes those bars look funky but adjusting them to fit you is important. For harley risers, I would say they will most likelt fit. Just make sure you get the top clamp as well if it looks like it won't fit the stock one. That's all

Jerry....... A few things. First I was very surprised that you bought this bike. I see a lot of people on KZbin buying this bike. I guess it’s rather impressive and I’ll have to try it sometime this spring and see what it’s like but I was still surprised you bought this. When you put out the other video I was thinking more the lines of a fat boy or a heritage that you’d pick up. also when you were showing the lights since you add the bag lights to your road king I noticed when you hit the brakes as you said everything flashed but when you turn the turn signal I noticed the bag lights didn’t flash only the fender light flashed I don’t know if that’s something you can change with the wiring on it, since they flash with no turn signals on. And last but not least don’t forget those filler lights that you can put on in between the bags then you’ve got total lights and no one could ever say they didn’t see you. That’s what I’ve done to my bike since I ride about 75% of the time at night.
